I am an American who’s just learned of coronation Street in the last six months. I found And binged watched the latest season on Hulu! During locked out I found and watched last year’s season from start to finish. I absolutely love the show but these KZread videos connect The members of each family and their connections to other characters on the show. This gives me a deeper understanding of what I’m seeing in the current season. And I really am enjoying that!

I watched Loose Women the other day when they had Bruce and Vicky on for a mini reunion, it was so sweet to see them back together!! #BringBackLesAndJanice

I wish we had a family like this again. It’s what made Corrie fun!

The episode when they were introduced to Corrie was one of the best ever And it was on Valentines Day as well

Unlike the Ogdens and Duckworths who were common and clueless (at least as far as the other characters were concerned), the Battersbys were common AND proud of it. They were the first family on "Corrie" that were loud, obnoxious and they couldn't care less if they ruffled everyone's feathers in the process. In that regard, they were a true reflection of the less desirable aspects of working class life. Yes there were characters on the show beforehand who were known to cause a scene, but the Battersbys took it to another level.

Coronation Street has never been twee. It has years of fiesty strong characters long before this crass violent family came along. With proper northern humour with heart. Not just over the top silliness with no actual soul. This was the start of the end for me.

Les and Kirk were a lovely couple ❤

Janice was one of those characters who could grip you every time she spoke, the actress was brilliant and it's a shame we haven't seen much of her on TV.

I liked this family on the soap.

Les's Cortina would have been worth peanuts then but worth a lot of money now. The Cortina was the ultimate chavmobile back then but now it has reached classic status now. It's the same with Onslow's Cortina.

I remember watching Nick and Leigh Anne story and thinking Gail was close to becoming Ivy

Can’t believe they had over 90% of viewers voting to take this family off Corrie when they’d hardly been on the show for a month. And that Bruce Jones actually had people avoiding him in public and abuse shouted at him and being harassed by people over his storylines on this show. Also saw that Helen Worth got the same treatment from people when the Gail and Martin romance started from watching the Platts family album video. Got to wonder how people can be so dense? They’re actors and are paid to do a job and are trying to make a living like the rest of us. Let me spell it out for you all clearly: ITS NOT REAL LIFE, STOP BEING RUDE AND ACTING CRAZY, AND JUST LEAVE ACTORS ALONE IF YOU CAN’T BE CIVIL TO THEM. Gets on my nerves. I think soap fans have got to be one of the three most immature and pathetic fan groups around along with anime and manga fans, and superhero comic book/film fans.

The Millers in Eastenders weren’t liked at all when they first rocked up

After Cilla left, I think Corrie started spawning copycat characters with less depth and simpler scripts purely for comedy.
