I confess that I laughed when you said you'd see Next to You and knew what to expect. Henrik is a world class musician. So are Aron and Jonah. They are mind-breaking. It takes quite a few songs before you'll even begin to know how much each of them can do. These guys are absolutely my favorite band.

Off the top of my head I'm gonna say this is the first new DL song in like a year and a half. To be introduced to Dirty Loops yesterday and then have a new song released basically the same day. Well my friend the music gods seem to be smiling down on you. The whole production and presentation of this one I think took everybody kind of by surprise. But that said this is so much of what DL are about. They take their music soooo seriously while never taking themselves too seriously. There will be a lot of us looking forward to riding along on this journey with you.

Great reaction! About the bass there, yes the E string has a 2 fret extension to D so the glue vise acts like a capo. The tuner for that string actually sits at the back of the body behind the bridge, and that is actually a Hipshot D-tuner, so the E- string can actually drop down to C 😃

You kind of answered your own question there. Aron has humongous drum set even though he doesn't need it. Henrik has four arms. Jonah has four keyboards. They're maxing out on everything, they're absolutely brilliant and equally hilarious. Those split legs of Henrik's had me crying. The song is INCREDIBLE, everything they put out is just pure gold. The song is like an 80's movie soundtrack combined with the next level genius craziness that is Dirty Loops. Enjoy the rabbit hole, dude!

This song starts in Emaj and jumps to the relative C#min during the bass insanity. In the middle of the second bass shred section they sneakily modulate up a minor 3rd and come back into the vocals in Emin (sneaky boys) then jump up to the new major root key of Gmaj :) They do all kinds of wild harmonic progressions that keep you on your toes! Henrik is definitely one of the best bassists of his generation for sure. He really channels his inner Steve Vai for this one!

As many other have already said, it was quite funny to hear you say you knew what to expect. Rule no. 1 with these guys is that you never, ever know what to expect. Well, except for ridiculously high quality musicianship. Outside of that they always manage to surprise. 😄 Oh, and those two kick drums is probably also a joke, as Aron never plays double kick normally and doesn't need it, he's that fast with one foot. Lots of people comment on that though, so my guess is that it is a joke just like with the two set of arms on Henrik. Their motto is "more is more" and here they have double everything; double keyboards, double bass necks and arms, and double kick drums. They are so silly. 🤣

They leave you without speech :) almost always Dirty Loops manage to scramble your brain, and lo, they did it again! That video, I feel is a prank from beginning to end, and I seriously can’t wait to hear the rest of what’s going to be on that album!! This is the most ‘pop’ song I think I’ve heard from Dirty Loops, and so many things come to mind, from glam rock to Polyphia to Knower and Luis Cole. But most of all making fun of everything. Henrik’s four (or three?) hands, his pink strings, his hilarious splits, his two solos, -Aron’s pompous drum setup and headband, -Jonah’s outfit, the whole set, -it’s all made to look bigger than life, it’s just ridiculous 😉 Henrik is playing his 6-string, custom made Swedish Mattisson bass with warped, true temperament frets (you can see him playing it on some of the other DLoops songs). Not a double bass exactly :) and definitely not a double-necked bass guitar. It might be a nod to Guitarist Steve Vai, who’s also played with Polyphia recently, as well as with Jonah Nilsson on his track ‘Diamond Ring’, and sometimes plays double or more-necked guitars. Henrik writing in the credits that ‘tone is all in the fingers’: to me endless debates come to mind where people argue that his great tone comes from the build or the wood used in building his basses, and so on. The guy is a master bassist, has been playing as a session musician before he even started playing with Dirty Loops, has played with the best, and is respected by the best. Victor Wooten indeed is one of the many influences in his playing (how good you’ve heard him play live!), as is Flea, Jacco, Marcus Miller and many others. Henrik is his own rabbit hole to go down into…. Check out some of his collaborations with other fusion and prog musicians -some truly incredible stuff. He’s also great at talking about his technique, his equipment setup and his pedalboards :) Besides that tho there also is a guitarist in this recording here, Carl Mörner Ringström, a fantastic Swedish musician. And yes, they’re having so much fun it’s not fair, and always taking the mickey 😉 I still think that you would enjoy their track ‘Work Shit Out’ where Aron gets to shine, as well as Jonah on his piano. There are a couple of easter eggs in the end credits that caters to their domestic audience and would be hard to spot for someone not very familiar with Sweden. Runar Søgaard is a Norwegian guy who used to be married to a famous Swedish singer. He's been the center of media attention a lot of times for a lot of reasons. A pretty bizarre dude who's both been a preacher and life coach aswell a tax evader and prisoner. Gudrun Schyman is a 75 years old former politician that used to be the leader of the Swedish left party and then went on to form a new feminist party. I don't think she's beatboxing that much. I'm 99% sure that "It's not a phase mom tattoo and body modification studios" doesn't exist outside of these end credits. Great name though! You're right about Serla Toiletpaper. Then there's Fonus, wich is a funeral home (could be a hint where they got the extra arms for Henrik?), Delicato makes desserts with high content of fat and sugar, Viktväktarna simply means Weight Watchers.

Keep up the great reactions, you have an easy, relaxed, and natural way of doing your reactions. Another Dirty Loops recommendation would be World on Fire. Pay particular attention to the mic placement for Henriks set up. Especially his D.I. New sub.

I am sorry. This is not live at all. it's a studio recording/video. You don't know that much about how people play music! No! they don't have four arms. the kit is huge because this is a homage to the 80/90's metal bands like Toto and Van Halen. In the four hand scenes he uses a 4 and 6 string bass as a gadget (BECAUSE IT'S NOT LIVE) Then in the solo scenes he reverts to a proper 8 string bass.

So…. Considering all I had to go off was the cover photo before hitting play, it looked live. Obviously, when I started the video, I quickly realized it was not live. I sure hope you didn’t consider my four arms statement seriously 😳 Further into the video, I understood the purpose of the big drums and crazy outfits. This was literally my first time watching it. I’ve been playing live music for 20 years. I’m aware how it works. But thanks for stopping by! 😊
