The Basilica of St. Josaphat, Milwaukee, WI -- Waking The Church

The Basilica of St. Josaphat is located on the South Side of Milwaukee in the historic Lincoln Village neighborhood. It is part of the Milwaukee skyline and easily seen from Interstate 94. It is one of the most beautiful churches in America and the largest church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
St. Josaphat was designed by Erhard Brielmaier, and built by Polish immigrant laborers using salvaged material from the U.S. Post Office and Custom House in Chicago.
Construction of the church was completed in 1901.
There is a reliquary chapel on the lower level.

Nearly everything I do and posted here on KZread is intended to keep me connected to life, to God. I need it. It's too easy to fall wayward, on my own path. If you're going to ask God for help, do things that keep you relaxed, that keep your mind open to hearing His response, His message. I'm sharing places, moments and spaces that keep this Catholic explorer, resort junkie and Disney aficionado connected with God.
Waking The Church series includes moments of spaces within a Catholic Church upon opening for the day. The ambient sound is intentional, to potentiate the cinemagraph.
