Looking forward to watching. Looks like a good action flick. I understand that the history buffs might have wanted a documented account, but c’mon, the guy is the subject of folktales. Half of the stories about these guys are made up and exaggerated. Crazy that there are haters out there with something negative to say about a 2 minute trailer. I would never waste my time to spread negativity like that over a movie trailer.

I agree, but when I was a kid, there was a show called Daniel Boone. If you watch, it is full of crap. But it made me look up people who lived and of course Boone never met. But I learned about B. Franklin, Arron Burr, just to name a few. Back then I started with World Book, but with shows like that and Walt Disney, I learned about DC, the Swampfox and Daniel Morgan. I just kept researching about these people, I knew TV was wrong, so I read what a lot of people wrote. My point is this, I found a love of history and what the true stories about these people. I think the best portrayal of DC was Billy Bob Thronton in the Alamo. I think he was like that in real life or something close.

@@AlamoSentry I get your point, but my point is, maybe it will encourage to see what happened. The character could be fictional and have the same thing. In my youth I had a job, I see on TV or movies all the time. The other day, we were busting a gut laughing at one of those action movies. You see the weapon he had and the way he was firing it, well the movie was almost 2 hrs. He was out of ammo in about 15 minutes, so in real life he would be playing pocket pool. I just saying they do it with my job all the time. Most people have to know TV and the movies are FOS.

But why do modern historical movies have to look so dark? The colors are so dark, and depressing. Why not bring back the colorful glow of the old Disney movies? The color of The Ten Commandments movie with Charlton Heston? Why not bring back the colorful, sunny glow, of the old series "Davy Crockett" with Fess Parker? Why make the colors so dark, gloomy, and depressing looking?

For those complaning about this not being "historically accurate" and therefore are writing it off completely must of forgotten a couple things 1. Fess Parker's amazing classic "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates" which is a legend, a fictionalized story of real people from history. Not historically accurate but fun and lighthearted so im not sure why this movie is such a sin to make 2. The fact that there is such a thing as tall tales & american legends based off real people but have been exaggerated for the purpose of story telling and entertainment which has lived on through America for almost centuries, giving people lessons and heros to look up too like Paul Bunyan, John Henry, Johnny Appleseed, etc 3. The classic show Daniel Boone, also played by Fess Parker, which is definitely a couple steps away from accurate to his life but is still great and is a relic of the era of golden tv and family shows with great values and rolemodels

To be fair there seems to be a scene where he’s in congress possibly but then he goes into John Wick mode so hopefully it doesn’t go too modern with the action sequences. The whole war resulting in the Texan Republic was about Southern planters moving into leased land with slaves, which was against the law and constitution in Mexico. Santa Ana was sent to enforce the Mexican laws. When the Texans won they wrote a constitution legalizing slavery and did it again when they became a state. THAT is history. Have you read something different? Please share.

@@diceportz7107 yeah, but this movie, davy crocket, looks better and would have been a better fit. the last rambo movie was missing the "outdoorzee" element that first blood possessed. and i like the outdoors.

This seems like it's trying to replicate what Disney did back in the 50s, on a much more action packed and violent scale. But then, if there is money to be made, corporations and the men who run them will do pretty-much anything it takes to get it.

Why not just his real story though? The man's real life was more dramatic and exciting than any film.

The real David Crockett despised being called Davy which was the name of a fictional character invented during Col. Crockett's lifetime... From the trailer I can see little historic accuracy in story.. sets or props... Very much like the fictional stories based on the man.. this may be entertaining.. just not history... Signed.. a 7th generation Tennessean

If you wanna make a period action movie... make it. Don't butcher history and use a popular name to sell tickets. Most of the population is already ignorant of history... you're not helping. 😂

I don’t think David Crockett ever went by “Davy.” That seems to have been something contrived in the 20th Century and the only other celeb I’ve going by that nickname was Monkeys group member Davy Jones. Probably going to be something I may watch when it hits a streaming service for free.

A far cry from Disney's Crockett. It looks like if they didn't call it Davy Crockett, no one would recognize it. Like most of the "action" movies today, this trailer appears to be done by the same people; thundering timpanies, quick fades, etc. Saw little in this trailer that really pertains to Crockett and his family.
