This is a good post. I lived in L.A. for over 5 years and if you don't mind driving on the road with people who are trying to go North/South/East and West all at the same time...have at it! 🤪😬😳😂 this isn't true for the real native Angel's. They already know how and when to get on and off the road. The natives are laid back, easy going folk who know how to get along. I'm speaking about the transplants who come from whatever rock they crawled from under to get out there. I built my entire lifestyle around avoiding this elk at all cost. I lived out in Venice/Santa Monica and rarely ventured anywhere I had to drive without a thorough plan for how to avoid this elk. Very late nights bordering on early morning travel and that was just to go to the other side of town to visit friends. Who knew in advance I was coming and they knew I wasn't leaving until that very same time frame to get back to the ocean. L.A. was summed up best by an Actor I was working with who just moved there like myself from the east coast. We both agreed the only place to live and enjoy L.A. was out at the beach and he said, "I luv when I'm home at the ocean because my place faces the water and I know all the A-holes are behind me!" BOOM! And that was true every day of the 5 or so years of living there. Again this does not refer to the true "Angel's" with whom I'm still friends with today over 10 years later.

I have to commute from Orange County to LA for work and it sucks. Whenever I go out my friends make me drive cause they can't handle LA drivers. If I reported a coworker for honking at me to HR they would just laugh at me. Who does that?

Parking is when your car is in "P"! Of course, there always have to be a few who can't read, so... Robert Lover has a wonderful suggestion for the more foolish situations. I've known for years that I would NOT enjoy CA, my brother lived there for a time. His advice to me was to stay the "H" away - I think he feared I would kill someone. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.

Even where they exist, bicycles are always permitted in the motor vehicle lanes unless it is a specific type of road where they are banned, usually Interstate Highways or comparable freeways. In all other locations (including many with 45+ mph speed limits and lots of car traffic) bicycles are permitted to use the vehicle lanes, but seldom the sidewalks. This is not always a very logical arrangement but it is the legally required one.

In Italy people drive worse than in La: for example thay always (yeah, *always*) ran the stop signs or they don't respect the speed limit or fail in dual turns, cuz they aren't as common as in the USA. There are signs that you cannot park there during typical traffic times like 4pm-7pm, etc so there is an extra lane to drive in. That's everywhere here.
