Honestly, I've played and finished this game, and its really underwhelming. The mini games are super repetitive and the hilarity of the characters wears off fast.

Umi_Emi Comes from the Soap Opera and romantic novel culture. I admire it, but this extreme genre has been around forever, far before video games. XD I love it because it's so over the top. Although, you're right in wondering just why the heck this stuff is around and for who?
