    Im trying to embroider onto a beanie with fonts I purchased on etsy. I will be two lines but I dont know what sizes to use or what dimensions to use to fit the beanie. Please help.😪

  • @TheBabysBooty

    @TheBabysBooty

    3 жыл бұрын

    You will need to measure the beanie fold to see what size fonts will fit best. If you like a chunky fold that is more tall, then you may can use a 1in to 1.5in font, but if your fold is smaller, then you may have to use a .75in font. Fold the hat the way you like then measure the size. Use a font that will then fit that area.

    When you do beanies for babies or smaller children do you put anything over the stitching (on the inside) ????

  • @TheBabysBooty

    @TheBabysBooty

    7 жыл бұрын

    Shannon Margaret it would depend on the beanie. most of the beanies I've done for children have the fold up lip that I embroider on. Because the lip flips up, the back of the stitching is up against the front of the Hat, not the child's head. if I did do a beanie that did not flip up, then yes. I try to cover the back of the design whenever it would come in contact with the child's skin. 👍🏽 ☺ Excellent question! Thanks for watching our videos!

    I just embroidered a beanie and it had quite a bit of lurex in it and I set it up exactly like you did on sticky stabilizer. The height of the font is 1 1/2 inches and when it was done, the letters moved a lot when I pulled across the beanie. I thought I did everything right. Any help you can give me would be great. This is for a customer.

  • @TheBabysBooty

    @TheBabysBooty

    5 жыл бұрын

    Don't pull or stretch the beanie. Make sure you are using cutaway stabilizer, and practice first! Don't dive right into embroidering on the customer's items. Try a similar hat to test first!

  • @TheBabysBooty

    @TheBabysBooty

    5 жыл бұрын

    Each machine (even the exact same model) has it's own tension settings. There are internal mechanics that dictate what the tension setting should be. Check your manual because there should be a recommended range for your machine. I have a video to show you how to set your tension on a Brother Machine, but the technique can be applied to any machine. Do a search for The Baby's Booty Tension

Maybe I'll watch when I'm at my machine. I'm so used to embroiling on flat pieces of fabric. You should see mentoring to embroidery a name on the cuff of Christmas stockings.
