Damn, those were totally heartbreaking interviews with Brian and Roger. 😢💔 Such lovely men, so stoic in their grief and loyal to the core to their beloved friend. ❤ Rest in peace, beautiful Freddie. You are dearly missed. 🙏❤🌹

You have to remember this was 1991 and times were very different. AIDS was still very much a disease that afflicted mainly gay men and the lifestyle was not widely accepted anywhere in the world, including the UK. I think this was why there was not a big push in finding a cure or medication to help fight this disease. Freddie’s death of AIDS was a turning point and more of a spotlight was placed on this disease. It wasn’t just a gay disease, it was affecting everyone, but we still had a long way to go because the press scared us with thinking we could catch it through casual contact. I’ll never forget when my best friend, who was gay, told me he was HIV+, I hugged him but I was scared I’d be infected. I kept telling myself, Princess Diana goes into the AIDS wards in London and touches the patients. I’m sure it’s okay, but I was still scared. I’m sure Todd saw it, too. I hope he forgave my ignorance. I miss him so much. Paul Daniel’s was a complete wanker that morning. I thought Brian and Roger held their composure with that compassionless loser.

Roger Taylor of course had known Freddie longer than most because he had run a market stall in South Kensington with him selling clothes.
