The Awesome CLASS 37s a loco I love to film. (all unseen footage)
As the tittle says I do like to get this loco on film, but during the early part of this year I missed a lot of working due to being somewhere else and the pandemic we are in.
So around the July time I started to try and put that right, and here is the outcome of the filming I've done of the class since then.

Great footage as usual Mike. Am I the only person who doesn't like the updated lights on some of the 37's? Maybe I'm just old fashioned. It was great to see 37025 and 37175 , a current Bo'ness loco and a former Bo'ness loco. A few years ago, I was at the Metro centre with my coach, when a 37 passed with a ballast train. The driver opened her up as he passed me, it was music to my ears! It brightened up my boring, long day!

I bought a small but VERY LOUD and bassy bluetooth speaker just for 37 footage (150 watts).........always keeps the neighbours happy 😂🤣😂🤣😂 they think its ACTUALLY going through their street!

What I don't understand is why a modern version of these isn't being designed and built in UK. OK, the class 66 is reliable, but this is a beast with some classic design lines. Kind of reminds me of a Jag with that long snout. Love em!

I notice quite a few "light power" moves with just a single locomotive (sometimes two) not pulling any train on many Class 37 videos. Here in the USA it's rather rare to see that since the train is not making any money. I have to give credit where credit is due in saying the Brits have built 3 of the top best sounding engines on the planet - the EE 12CSVT, the R-R Merlin, and the parallel twin (Triumph Bonneville, Norton Commando, etc). All are timeless classics.

Excellent footage , I love the 37s. I remember them every day passing heading to Ravenscraig with coal and iron ore. Is that an old shark brake van sitting in the siding in the second last scene ? I didn't think they were still in use.

Wow them were great day with them 37/3 working off Motherwell, that old shark brake van has been there for years . (dumped) Cheers for viewing my 37 video, there will be more of this class from the early days.
Good to hear 37's before seeing them! A minor potted history of shown 37s: 37059 / 37069 / 37025 - Eastern region originals - along with 37109 & 37116 used to wake me up when I was staying in my grandparents gatekeepers cottage along the East Suffolk Line. Those cottages are flush up against the line and damn did those 37's rattle things ... like my teeth. But not car alarms; we didn't have them back then! Pity they're not still original split headcodes ... unlike 37025 (and 37099) 37175 / 37610 / 37425 / 37402 - Welsh wonders originally stabled at Canton or Landore. Always seemed to sound different to the other 37's to me. 37601 - Interesting loco. Originally D6705 / 37005 - technically the oldest 37 still on the mainline (Unless D6700 is?); been stabled all over the UK. You know that at the start of the year there were FIVE 37's stabled at Norwich Station to rescue the failing Flirts? Also on the 24th of December 2020 that'll be the 60th anniversary of a 37 - aka D6700 - pulling that classes first passenger coaches?

it’s in the Rule Book ‘ unnecessary use of horn’ I’ve known drivers get reprimanded for over use of the horn .. I also chose carefully where I blew horn because a lot of traction record the horn on black box ... and not all drivers understand hand signals from line side enthusiasts.

The lad is behind the yellow line, in a position of safety, so P.T.S regulations don’t really apply. There’s a lot of factors here from drivers point of view, the risk of danger to people, regulations, his concentration, what is necessary to do the job correctly and safely, without getting into trouble with management.

@@supersprinter1564 I’m not disbelieving you on the distance but P.T.S applies to railway employees, working on or near the track. P.T.S doesn’t apply to Members of the public on platforms, that will come under drivers rules of wether the driver feels there is a danger, obviously the lad is sensible, standing behind the yellow line, not likely to get any closer to the edge, there being no obvious danger , there is no need for the driver to sound the horn in this case, the raising of your hand will not make the driver sound the horn under P.T.S rules to a member of the public on a platform. it would be just friendliness on behalf of the train crew.
