    If you've never seen the original Floyd go to an Aussie show close your eyes for a moment and you'll experience it. Seen them 2 times. Hope to see them again. This band is on point with EVERYTHING. As a drummer for many years and a music lover you will not be disappointed. ✌

    I have been a Pink Floyd Fan for 50 yrs. For me they are my all-time band in the entire history of mankind. Like everything, time does not stand still & I thought I'd lost all hope of hearing Pink Floyd in all their glory. Enter, Aussie Pink Floyd. To recreate these songs that were perfected in the studio, & even a challenge for original Floyd to bring to us live, is just masterful imho. I'm awed by the skill and passion Aussie Floyd has shown consistently & with zero disrespect to original Floyd. I think original Floyd shall live as legends as having created the genius sound, & are likely impressed by Aussie Floyd's skills, commitment, and passion for taking their music into a new generation while prolonging the Pink Floyd legacy. Kudos, Aussie Floyd, you all are just like us, you love Pink Floyd so much, only you have found a way to express it so that millions of us can also enjoy your expression of the band we all love! KISSES and HUGS! You have my heart which is now occupied by Pink Floyd and Aussie Pink Floyd EQUALLY! You have shown Pink Floyd fans the finest form of flattery at such an impeccable quality level. Wish you the best! FLOYD LIVES ON THRU YOU!

    i shared a flat with paul the drummer when i lived in kersal in the 1990s. he was learning to play the drums while working at a local fish merchant named don baker seafoods. (they did specials on haddock on saturdays). anyway, he didnt have a lot of money and only had two snare drums and one cymbal. so i managed to find an old bass drum in a skip one day, and we managed to repair it. (it had a foot through it). since then his drumming got a lot better, and he joined the band fully in 1999

    Saw these guys on, I believe, on their inaugural UK tour at St Georges Hall, Bradford in the 90's. Have a signed thank you letter from them. Dragged anyone I could along to their next visit. All enjoyed it, even when the glitter ball failed to work on Comfortably Numb! Just seen them in Blackpool 1st December 2023 and booked tickets for 2024! I hope Jason, the keyboard player is feeling better. Maybe we'll catch you 2024? If you haven't seen them, do so. You won't hear better.

    Saw TAPFS at Preston Guild Hall, March 17 2015. I was about 20 ft. away from Colin Norfield...amazing FOH engineer. I unfortunately never got to see Pink Floyd live, but with the sound of TAPFS, you can just close your eyes and imagine you're in front of the original band. Just fantastic... I really hope they're back in the UK in 2016, I have to see these guys again...simply brilliant.

    To many idiots here who don't see the reason behind a tribute band so let me educate you. Its to keep great music alive, and present it live, when the original composers are no longer willing to or aren't able to. As long as the musicians are respectful to the source material and people enjoy it then I don't have a problem and if you do here's a suggestion. Lock your doors, pull out your old vinyl records and re-live your memories because obviously that's all you have left.

    I have also seen the real Floyd live, and no, it can't be compared... BUT many younger people have not seen them, and can NEVER see them, as Rick Wright is unfortunately dead. The closest they can get is a Gilmour concert, with a possible guest by Nick Mason and a load of session musicians filling in (who'll do no better or worse than these guys). So if people want to go see a big scale tribute act, why the hell not?

    Saw them at Wembley Arena and also saw Waters Wall gig at the o2, IMHO the 'Aussies' version of 'In the Flesh' was better than Waters. Sharper, harder hitting. Dunno, maybe I had a better seat at the Aussie's gig but it stuck in my mind all the same.

    Get real all you doubters. These guys keep Pink Floyd's music alive. You will never see the real Pink Floyd again. These are brilliant musicians who can bring the music alive again. They make money, employ crew etc and probably let Gilmour, Mason and that twat Waters earn royalties from people going out to buy the albums. Its a win win situation!

    Would love to hear AussieFloyd do Seamus, maybe even using their own doggy for the barking part! :) My dog would offer but she's too glued to my side to ever leave and go on tour! Sigh-Yep my little love junky is here to stay.... constantly looking for my attention.. yep my little love sponge.... ALWAYS at my side sucking the very life out of me... Even barges into my bathroom when I'm on the toilet. Even lumbers on my foot when I'm painting or watching TV. Oh I know, I've spoiled her to the point of her codependency, but it would really help me out if you could interrupt her stare with that song Seamus. She loves Seamus by Pink Floyd so do I. I hope you'll consider it sometime down the road... that and Fearless.. Give a dog-owner a moment of peace, without puppy-dog eyes begging for SOMETHING.

    No offense to all (I love tribute bands) but if you get talented musicians together and vintage equipment you can replicate it. The real talent is writing the material they're playing. I'd love to see this band and others come out with original material. It's in them.

    Totally agree. I’m a guitar player. When I was learning to play, all my friends were busy learning other peoples songs and trying to impress by playing shitty versions of Eruption or Cliffs of Dover or something. I always thought that was silly. If you can play someone else’s song, then you certainly can play your own. Why waste time doing something that’s already been done when you can create something new. Now those people can probably still play circles around me, but it’s all still just emulating other players to varying degrees of success and they can’t string together 2 chords or come up with anything original at all. That’s not to say I don’t have influences, I obviously do, but I write my own material. Having said that, these guys are very good at what they do. I clicked on the video after all.

    So orchestras perform classical music they didn't write. Hendrix performed Dylan. The Dead performed Willie Dixon. Jazz artists play standards. McCartney and Clapton play tunes they first performed with other band members. Fans still love sports teams even after all the originals are gone. APF plays for me, for us, for themselves and not for you cynics? Awesome. Stay home. Stay home from GTLO too please. Meanwhile my son is getting turned on to Floyd through these APF shows and other routes…..so he has a chance of becoming a musician influenced by the greats. All the better for his chances of bringing amazing music to the next generation. There's no place for hecklers and buzzkills at any show. Scram. It's about the music. Not the band. Not you.

    Would love to know the business dealings behind the scenes....these guys are making serious bank to able to afford the setup they have, the level of touring and the crew they maintain and there is no way the PF are letting them do it out of the goodness of their hearts. I wonder what the percentages back to Floyd are worth. But it is a great deal for PF because they aint working no mo' and the APF need to make money also.

    Pink Floyd didn't make their living out of pretending to be someone else. The way they went about it, is the same way thousands of other credible musicians continue to today... only the great bands like Floyd stand out because of their brilliance. Let's not confuse what the 'Australian Pink Floyd show' are doing with the re-interpretation of the great classical composers of yesteryear... they've been dead for centuries. Most of Floyd are still living and breathing.

    Actually, I'm not the one tearing apart constructive creativity, but then I don't live in a place where turning off a human's ability to think individually and freely is frowned upon. I could say that your culture is ridiculously stupid and be right on many aspects however that would be impolite to impose criticism when it is more life-giving, encouraging, supportive and all-around healthy to go toward the light instead of the dark. Your culture nourishes death, rape, violence and oppression as if it were something the human creation was purposed to do, when in fact we were put here to help one another ascend to a higher level spiritually, intellectually, and morally. My parents once gave grand advice, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all. This instilled a level of decency in me that when utilized, created a ripple effect. Treat others the way you want to be treated. I feel very sorry for you.

    Let's explore further what is ridiculous and stupid about Aussie Pink Floyd in your demented mind? Maybe if we can break down why you find this concept so enormously below you, we can see where your ignorance stems from.

  • @yellingelk
    @yellingelk12 жыл бұрын

    So what is this? Is this the new Pink Floyd or something? Try writing your own music and see how you's go taking that into the Royal Albert Hall. Nahhh... why bother writing our own songs? Floyd wrote great stuff! Much much easier to just play theirs... that way we can just take the fucking money and leave all that sorry bullshit to passionate musicians, besides... who wants to work in a coffee shop.
