Happy New Year JSP. I just found your channel and am about to subscribe I just wanted to mention that my father was in the CCC. He was sent to New Hampshire and was tasked with helping cut fire breaks and cut trails on Mt Washington. I am a fan of Heinlein's stories and my favorite it Time Enough For Love so I am familiar with Mr. Libby. Interesting character. I believe that Lazarus. mentioned that Libby finally lost his life when he got distracted at the wrong time. This was many years later since Libby was one of the long lifers.

The Libby Drive. Invented by AJ Libby. Heinlein's FTL drive. AJ Libby was also a board member of "The Families". Mentioned many times throughout Heinlein's works.

Um, the Great Depression in the 1930s wasn't just the USA - It affected the whole world. Just sayin'

Oh, to be sure! Perhaps I could have been more careful on that point. My mentioning of the Great Depression was just to set the groundwork for specifically discussing the CCC in the United States, which was definitely an American program, hence the tale.
