The Associates - Those First Impressions - live on Number 73
Музыка
Number 73 was a Saturday morning kids' programme shown on the ITV network here in Britain in the 80s.
I've tried to do a few things to improve the quality but to little avail. If anyone has any video restoration wisdom I'd love to hear it.

Wow, Billy had such a beautiful voice.
When I first saw Billy singing this song I was blown away. Not only a wonderful voice, but what a handsome boy. At that time I thought, I must meet him, but the years went by and then he died. Oh for a Julian Barnes heaven where one meets all the stars that one wishes to meet. I bought this record, an LP like single and used to play it all the time, I looked to find Billy singing an equivent one, but never did. So, this remains in my heart as one of my fav songs of all my life.
No. 73 is an absolute goldmine of show. There are some quite amazing and wonderful performances throughout the series history. Not to mention the programme itself. Its such a pity the entire series is rotting in an archive somewhere. It deserves to be seen again.
Magical, got this on vinyl and ipod, always glad to hear it,along with Stuart Adamson another great Scot,They are both missed and irreplaceable,Thankyou for the Music you gave us.R.I.P.
wonderful! - really really great stuff
Your voice: seared forever on my heart and into my soul.
Wow! A Great live version. (Brings back memories) I remember reading that the Associates had a new single coming out, i was 16 at the time and i was really excited.I could not wait to hear their new song so i would listen to the radio and watch the TV but i never got to hear it prior to the day i bought it. I had to go to school that day but i could only think of the Associates!. I bought the single after school that day and i was completely blown away. Billy never disappoints!!!
Other than the version of "Waiting for the Loveboat" that plays over the ending titles, I don't have anything else. It's only when my wife and I started putting an Associates DVD together that we realised just what the vaults could yield if anyone bothered, even if for one of the numerous music TV channels that now exist. For the time being, make do with bootlegs. As it stands, this one is too rough for anything other than KZread.
Omg - this video is wonderful! Love and miss Billy very much - Rest in Peace beautiful one. Love is eternal. Grateful for the music legacy he created and shared. Thanks for posting this! Very entertaining. Lisa and company in Kansas City...
great live version
Oh my god - I'd completely forgotten about this track...great posting. Thanks.
As a Saturday morning kids' programme with live bands, it must have a fascinating archive (someone has a clip of The Damned) well worth releasing. TVS' back catalogue is now owned by Disney, so don't hold your breath. I'm trying various tricks to get this up to a standard worthy of the DVD I help make and distribute, but I'm still not there yet.
Billy MacKenzie!! THEE Voice of Velvet The best voice in ther buisness and no wonder he still strikes awe into others, what a voice :)
Ive done some research the TVS archive has been passed around a bit. TVS to IFE to Saban Inc and its now in the hands on Walt Disney. Its needs to be brought back home to the UK! Each company have retained bits and its now spread out to the four corners of the earth! Such a shame!
Truly a legend!
WOW What a great live rendition. Love that bassline! And Billy, DAMN, he could REALLY sing. It wasn't studio artifice.
god he sure hits the high notes, live.

Great. By the way, Wim T. Schippers 'on stairs' in the beginning, absurdism.
I never liked this show.
