Mauve, I just wanted to tell you I made a dessert today that required tons of coconut shreds sprinkling work, and the entire time I thought of you, your love for the ultimate childhood snack, and your sleep-over story! I made white chocolate & pistachio truffles, coated with so much coconut shreds - that make the whole dessert! You made this time in the kitchen more fun and I giggled my way through it 😊❤

The way you describe Asymmetry reminds me of how I felt about Trust Exercise. I wanted to love it but just found it try-hard and queasy.

I haven't read it and probably now won't go out of my way to do so 😅 Don't know if you saw this, but I included part of a Goodreads review for Asymmetry in the description box and I wonder if you think it applies to Trust Exercise as well: "...if poorly executed structural innovation is all it takes for a book to be lauded as a masterpiece these days I think we need to raise that bar just a little bit higher." Anyway it's how I felt exactly!

LOL Asymmetry reminds me of Deborah Cho’s Trust Exercises which is a book that I absolutely LOATHE. Literally has the exact same “twist” that everyone is like “ooooooh so cool” over and I’m like no this wasn’t a good story at all???? It has one story in the first half, then the second half is a completely different story that’s only slightly related to the first story and then the coda comes in at random but turns out it’s very slightly related to the first two parts. The point of it was to debate who owns a story but it was not pulled off in a thoughtful way at all.

the creator that i can think of that’s close to Mauve is Plant Based Bride. She’s not an asmrtist but i find her taste in books very refreshing and educational. she loves classics and more “artsy” if you can say type of books. Her take on books and the way she talks about them is also very intriguing! hopefully that helps!

I DON'T LIKE "listening" to an ASMR video when...I HAVE TO HEAR CHILDREN UPSTAIRS and it's NOT even in My building! I can hear their television AND I can even hear them ACTUALLY talking! My volume on My smartphone is NOT loud at all, QUITE low, actually, but the Skullcandy earbuds that I wear, ÜBER sensitive to pick up sound in a video. Just saying. 🤔🙄😒🤨😠👎🏻😮‍💨 I'm going to go watch a different video. Bye!
