Dear Sicily Lover,
in this episode you'll discover the art of pottery decoration.
We are excited to introduce you to Caterina and share her story with you.
Sicily has a millenary tradition in the production of ceramics. Some of the terra-cotta objects date back to the Neolithic period (8000 years ago).
Maiolica and terra-cotta goods have been produced for centuries and today Sicilian pottery is among the best-known and appreciated in the world.
We’re proud in displaying you Caterina's authentic decorative Sicilian pottery. Here, you can see the famous Sicilian ceramic heads, known as the “Teste di Moro”, or Moors’ Heads.
She also decorates serving dishes, cups, bowls, and dining table accessories, decorative plates, ceramic prickly pears, pine cones (a talisman since the Roman age) and of course our gorgeous “Trinacria”, a mythical representation of a three legged Medusa which has served as the symbol of Sicily since ancient times.
If you have a Sicilian origin, she is glad to customize a wall plate displaying your hometown's most iconic locations and themes. It will serve as a reminder of your homeland and a beautiful ornament for your home!
All of Caterina's Sicilian ceramics are handmade and hand-painted.
All artworks respect the traditional Sicilian style and are decorated with exquisite floral patterns, bright colors and beautiful geometric motifs.
These authentic Sicilian ornaments will fill your home with joyful colors and our passion for life!
Of course Caterina is one of the skillful artisans involved in our Sicily Lover project.

E' un semplice smalto. E' la cottura in forno che rende il colore brillante
