White women love to ask, "is that your real hair?" To shade black women. If I'm wearing weave, I say, "no. It's really good for adding length and volume", you should try it for volume".

@@allisonmcinnis5929 and Kawaii Koibito. When it comes to men the best thing to do is answer it honestly and be unbothered. You can't shade them based on looks because men aren't centered around looks as much as women. Honestly, this is one of the biggest reasons why black women should stop wearing weave or wear weave that looks like it's their hair. White women LOVE extensions, but no one ask them if it's their real hair because they wear extensions that match their real hair.

One thing I have noticed is that when BW navigate In predominantly non-Black communities is how certain WW will reach over random BWs without saying "excuse me". They probably do this to be territorial and to express social dominance, because anytime someone invades your personal space buffer zone, that is aggressive. So when this happens on occasion, trip them out & calmly smile and say, " Am I in your way?" They usually get flustered and say "No", to which you can reply "Ok, I wasn't sure, because you were reaching over me". It embarasses the hell out of them, because it puts their tacky manners on blast, and they usually apologize or say "excuse me" and slink away.

I accidentally knocked over something off a shelf, i was going to pick it up but i took my time cuz i was still shopping. This white man got all red in the face, crossed the aisle, picked it up, let it drop hard on the shelf while giving me a nasty look. I said "oh excuse me can you tell me what aisle the fabric softener is in?" He looked at me and said " i dnt work here!" I said "Really?? Ohh Hmm... You oughta see if they're hiring? Pointing at what he picked up all while smiling an laughing and walked away so fast before he could respond.

I’m a British Born Black woman and I feel passive aggressiveness is a British Forté lol I usually use dry humour as a way to be shady, or if someone makes a dig at me, I may even agree and somewhat use their comment as ammo to shade them. I remember a woman I work with was Outraged at Princess Eugenie getting married on a Friday. Saying how it’s cheap and goes against tradition etc I said, “what’s wrong with getting married on a Friday? Nothing wrong with saving a bit of money” And she said “well it’s alright for a commoner to get married on a Friday but not royalty.” - but said in a way to suggest that i’m the commoner. I responded and said “yes, that’s true. A weekday would be perfect for both of us then.” She scoffed and said “absolutely not.” And left it as that ☺️ Naomi Campbell is a perfect example of a black woman who throws shade with grace.

Im a college student (math major) and I work as a waitress. I’m really quiet and outspoken. So I think the other females at my restaurant think they can comment on me or attack me for no reason simply cuz they have an attitude all the time or are unhappy with their lives. I NEVER comment back. Which does give people the impression that they can say what they want to me. But one time I got tired of it. The girl (late 20s two kids) told me “shut your mouth little girl you’re only 20 don’t come in here thinking you can say shit” I said simply, with a quiet tone, a little sarcasm, and a smile “yeah I’m 20...getting an education. I’ll be out of your hair soon because I’m not going to stay working at a restaurant into my late 20s. I got a degree to finish” (literally no offense to anyone I just had to say this to her cuz she’s always complains about not being able to pay rent or but her son soccer gear) but her jaw just dropped and she had no response.

One more: When doing common courtesies such as holding the door for someone, and the person dos not say thank you or acknowledge the courtesy, say "You're welcome." in an upward inflection but still maintain a slightly accusatory tone. Again, a smile is key. This happened a lot when I worked in an office and it seemed that everyone was thanked for doing helpful little things *except* for me. Another thing to do in these spaces is to character build. Always be seen as someone who is nothing but helpful, ladylike and thoughtful to the *right* people in the *right* places. It makes a difference.

In the UK, you are scorned and somewhat ostracized if you are someone who doesn’t acknowledge niceties like having the door opened for you. It’s not a race or gender thing - it’s cultural. I must admit, when I travelled to the states and realised this isn’t practiced everywhere, I found it so infuriating that someone would let a door shut in another persons face. There are some people who will try to continue that whole narrative even when you’re not being the stereotype. I’m going to do my BEST to watch my mannerisms and demeanor so that I don’t deal with people who will try to use my blackness against me. Edit: Actually Chrissie, I’d love a part two of this!

I went through something like this. I was at the supermarket with a cart full of food/wine/ice all kind of the stuff and the white lady cashier seemed annoyed to even ring up my items. I had about $200 worth of items. Once she’s finished ringing up my items she loudly says “you got food stamps?” I was appalled. She asked no one else this question. I proudly said “no I don’t have food stamps, master card please”. I wish I would have said more but I was so happy to prove her wrong. This is exactly why I stopped getting food stamps as soon as I got a decent job. Every time I am paying for food white folks behind me check to see what I’m paying with.

@Princess Dia Yes you hit the nail on the head! I hate to say it but I've had better experiences with white women than I've had with our own kind. I'm not saying white women haven't tried me but it's been nothing like what the black women have done. I wasn't raised in the hood and didn't resort to fighting, I was actually afraid to get in trouble though I have a very crazy side to me when provoked because I take it personally that I don't bother people and respect them and still some of those same people will go out of their way to do the opposite to me. I was shy and quiet growing up and had long relaxed hair( now I have my natural 4c hair), very intelligent, mature for my age and didn't use slang so many of the girls would pick on me for those reasons and some wanted to be my friend for those very same reasons. I definitely stood out and was constantly told this from adults of all races. It was because I wasn't the stereotype that I stood out in a positive way. My profile picture is actually Lauren London but when I had my real picture up here I constantly heard a lot of the things you said so I'll still take that compliment lol. I don't look too far off from her and I love to dress just like she is in this picture and yes I am black not biracial I'm what Chrissie considers "safe brown" for anyone who's wondering based off what I said. I took my picture down for the very reason Chrissie doesn't show her face. I don't need voicing my opinions about colorism affecting my everyday personal life/reputation not until I get myself to where I have more financial stability and protection.

Now mind you, how much money do YOU spend a month on weave, and how much money does THIS wig cost are 2 different questions. I smiled and answered, "it depends on the style and wear you buy it." We had a verbal exchange and I guess my calm tone and demeanor made her angrier. At one point in the conversation I told her she really needed to calm down, and I guess they made her more upset. So she eventually threatened to “ kick my ass.” Nobody heard me, but they damn sure heard her threat. I then wrote down everything that happened and what was said ending it by saying that I did not feel comfortable working with this woman and that I didn’t feel safe. I also wrote that I didn’t want to have to continue working with someone that I have to constantly look over my shoulder worrying if I’m going to get my ass kicked during or after work. So they fired her ass by the end of that week.

You can sue any company for not taking the right to protect their employees against work retaliation, work bullying or even work harassment. Especially if there's cameras around. Then you go to HR and plead the case. If you lose your job you can still sue. Go to corporate and report them. Corporate does not play! They cant afford a law suit for defamation of character or even racism. Black woman know your legal rights within the work environment. Many aren't expecting us to stick up for ourselves. Hunnnty, when other peoples pockets are hurt, they take it personal. Lol as they should.

I couldnt believe i made her delete her whole fb. I was worried i was too mean, but during the whole convo i kept my cool and was just writing facts...and all the men she was trying to impress found her inability to debate + the weakness of deleting her fb to be super embarrassing.

I was having issues with a White Latina very passive aggressive and manipulative coworker who had it out for me. She has the managers by the ear and is usual able to use that to her advantage and get her way. This is how I handled the whole issue from start to finish. Number one: I never underestimated her or let my guard down around her. The girl is a snitch and always watching her targets for something she can run back to the managers with. Number two: I NEVER talked shit about her to anyone. This was even after I learned that she was talking about me. Whenever anyone else started bitching about her I just stayed silent. Number three: I made it a point to say hi to her every day in a sweet voice when others were around, and never rolled my eyes at her, cut her off, or sucked my teeth at her. Number four: I let her win a few battles in order to make her assume I am the weak one because I knew she would get cocky and slip up. Number five: This is the most important of all. I make it a point to engage with management and coworkers in a charming way that makes them assume I’m this really sweet innocent lady. When we chit chat and they ask me about my personal life, I will respond with how I finally tried a new recipe or restaurant I have been looking forward to, or how I’m thinking of taking up some random innocent sounding hobby. NEVER talk with coworkers/managers about your real personal life no matter how well you get along with them or how chill they may seem. She finally lost her cool and snapped at me in front of everyone when a manager assigned her to do a task that admittedly is tedious and time consuming. She tried to pawn it off on me. My response was to look at her in the eye with a concerned look on my face and say loud enough for others to hear. “You seemed a bit stressed. I’m currently too busy with my own work load to really lend a hand, but maybe you should talk to the boss and let her know you may not be the best for the job, and maybe you van be assigned something a bit more ummm…. Simple?” She was mad as hell but others were watching so she quickly apologized with some excuse about having a bad day and squeezed out a few crocodile tears. To her surprise, mine too, others quickly protectively around me to see if I was ok and a male coworker took her to go wait in another room. I overheard heard him say “whatever, you are always on her ass and she has never done anything to you. You need to get it together” She has hardly looked me in the eye since and I still keep my guard up when it comes to her.

Lol I do this. But I go even further. When that person is rude to others, I will go and comfort the others and let them rant about her. Then when it happens to someone else, I go and comfort them and say "she even did this to X person last week". Basically, I build bad will around the person (and make sure everyone knows of their track record) but good will around myself. I learned that when there is a bully at work, they are usually also mean to others and you can use that to your advantage.

One way that I’ve used it, is some women were gawking, whispering and snickering at me and what I did was I smiled, waved and said, ‘hey, how are you doing’. Then my husband chimes in and said, ‘oh, do you know them?’ I said, ‘ No, but they were staring at me like they know me, so I figured I’d say hello’. And they shrunk to each other, feeling defeated. And ever since, i haven’t had a problem with stares.

I work with a WW in my job and at a time I was struggling with my new job responsibilities and training conflicts. We were at the same position at the time and she wanted me to treat her as my superior, any time I didn’t she gave me the nice nasty attitude. When we had a meeting to plan/divide our job responsibilities, she tried to call me out constantly being passive aggressive (and me properly defending myself) and finally she says “I want these duties because sometimes you don’t do them” And I had already had a conversation with management about this issue. I said “I totally understand your frustrations and I have had a hard time but that’s why we’re here, to plan our workloads better. My plan in the future is to get better at those so yes, I would still like those duties.” She turned BEET red and there was an awkward silence. The boss could sense the tension and after that she still tried me a couple more times (purposely leaving me out of lunch orders, arguing about comprehension of a task) and once I demonstrated that it didn’t bother me and continued that mirroring tactic, now she’s OH so cool with me. 😂

He then made a comment “on feeding my family is important to me I need light.” And then I asked him “is the light the only thing sir? Is it the stove or the fridge?” He got quiet then and left.

There must be something extraordinarily attractive about me for you to come over to me!” Have a good evening!!! Funny thing he was sooo embarrassed that he left! This happened to me at Walmart the other day. An older white women was complimenting my children’s hair (which is a 3b curl pattern) and I say thank u but then she proceeds to start saying how much better it is then the other curly hair. And I said like mine? mind u I have my 4b fro out and proud. She backtracks n says oh no ur hair is beautiful. I said ok ended the conversation and proceeded to call corporate. The next day the manager calls me ( white woman) and attempts to defend the older whites woman by saying she didn’t mean that she’s really a nice person blah blah blah. I interrupted her and said no that comment was racist and inappropriate. The phone got really quiet on her end and she continued to apologize and say the woman Will be doing sensitivity training. I’m glad I didn’t start yelling at this old white woman. In the middle of the store bc I would have looked crazy. Now this is on her record and all her bosses know about it and corporate.

After the first time watching it I found myself in two situations where in the end it was de-escalated, by non black men whom also then came in my defence! Both times I ended with saying ' wow that makes me feel uneasy' my arms held up and face in total shock. On the one occasion she, my white co worker, ended up turning bright red, head in her hands, saying sorry and having to leave the room! I was comforted and my co workers, who then and there expressed how wrong and out of hand it was. Trust me black women, its ok not to be 'strong' all the time, God gave us a range of emotions and capabilities learn how and when to tap into them. Correctly. Beneficially. Instead of being accusatory, I ask them questions. For example, if someone raises their voice. Instead of saying "you're being too loud" ask " wouldn't this conversation go better if your tone was lower?" and say it in a calm soft tone, and look at them like you're troubled or hurt. Also ask questions that lead them to a conclusion to your benefit. For example, when the woman in the office was huffing cause Chrissie didn't automatically move. You can also ask "wouldn't it be better to give me a heads up than anticipate I would read your mind?" And like Chrissie said smile or giggle while you say this. Accusing just makes them responsive and defensive. Asking them makes them think about what they are doing. Which leads them to embarrassment. I usually get an act of submission in some form when I do this.

I know they are not actually concerned about my health but are instead trying to make dark skin seem like a bad thing. When they say that, I smile and counter them with statistics about black people being more vitamin D deficient than other races and that psychologically people perceive richer toned skin as healthier and pale skin as sickly. I finish it off with a laugh and say something humorous like the darker the chocolate the richer the taste baby

Love your videos Chrissie, they are Informative, Straight Forward, and very inspiring. I love your videos thank you for educating our black women on the bullshit and helping them to soar to the top. Omarosa is a lawyer, and her clapbacks is lethal. Amen to Chrissie. I use to work at a Library, at my University and my boss was a nightmare. Oh my god, she was this crazy white lady and every student worker disliked her. She was litterally the type of boss who would ask us to do things for her and then she would turn around and talk about us to our supervisor Kristy. I let her slide because I wanted to see overtime how much was she going to reveal her true character. So on this particular day I go into her office and were having a discussion about possible changes she wants to make to the library. All of a sudden she just starts going off telling me that she don't like us and that were horrible people. So I respond with "Ok I'm sorry you feel that way." She immediately gets pissed off this woman turned so red, she literally looked like she was about to erupt. I immediately implement operation white woman crisis mode and start crying. All of a sudden here comes all of my coworkers and supervisors and they ask whats going on and I tell them Jen was being aggressive to me. All of them start cussing her out telling her leave him alone. Why are you messing with him. She was pissed off. But she never bothered me again and stayed clear of me period.

I have always been very aware of not being loud, ghetto, or "stereotypical" in any way. People at work actually comment on how calm I always seem. My issue is that I have a very expressive face. I don't have to say anything in a particular situation, and someone will say later on "Oh man the LOOK you gave her!" I need to work on not giving it away by my expression that I am pissed. Just continue to smile and sharpen my tongue....

I was once called aggressive for exuding confidence and not falling into this one black man's plight. He kept making comments signaling that he may have been interested in me, but he was very not classy with his advances. So I kept everything very direct. My response was, "It is because I'm black?" he gave me a blank stare and said "I don't like you"😂😬🤷🏾‍♀️.

LilT Step 1 minute ago kzread.info/dash/bejne/hW193KOYfZfSaNY.html Omarosa Manigault Full Interview with Savannah Guthrie. Omarosa owned this interview! I am impressed. She controlled the interview and Savanna was so aggressive. This was a great example of how to handle someone that is testing you. Savannah is very confrontational and I love how classy and composed Omarosa was.
