The Art of Marx Trains Part 23: Western Pacific Passenger Set 44464
Ойын-сауық
Tonight we have two Deluxe Marx Western Pacific passenger train sets. The yellow-striped WP E-7 diesels are very attractive, as are the streamlined passenger cars. I attempted to run them together on the same loop in different configurations. Hope you enjoy! Dave

A very nice dedication. Two great sets. Thank you for showing.
Beautiful trains, Dave! Marx made some real beauties, and the WP has to rank among the top! Thank you for the fine show! 🚂
This was just incredible to watch two of these beautiful sets running together. What a nice dedication to your friend. 💯❤️🙏
A deluxe set! Thank you for showing it in action.
Love those Marx WP trains. I live a half hour from the Feather River Canyon route.
Much enjoy your vids Dave. I collect Marx and have a small 3 rail layout at my house, nothing like yours. Thanks. John Smith
I appreciated all your effort in this and the other videos, Dave, and also that dedication to Lou. I did have the pleasure of visiting him at his home years ago. Also, one time a group of us went together to purchase him a "Marx gift" that we became aware of him wanting, and as I think about it, I do believe it was this particular WP diesel set.
l ove your content i also have marx lionel and o gauge american flyer great job on dedication
Excellent video ------ beautiful Marx WP passenger sets ------ your collection is amazing! I greatly enjoy "The Art of Marx Trains" series. Best regards, Mike

@@daveclarklumber I have ideas for it. If anything visiting layouts or requesting videos from those people. Or the way you are going about it?
Nice to see this Top of the Line Marx Set. It could be a Sears Allstate set with the deluxe trucks, plastic overlays and diecast wheels. Hard set to find, especially so nice as this one. The non-dome 1217 coach seems to be the hardest part of the set to find. A very unique run to see 2 of this rare set running together!
Me likem!
Obviously, this was the Western Pacific segment of the California Zephyr!
hey dave can you still get tenex 7 and have you ever used CA glue ?

I have not been able to find any Tenax lately. Getting ready to open the last bottle! Yes, I use CA and accelerator quite a bit.
Hey, I wanted to know - which do you think is a better buy for my first Marx set (first O gauge set too) - a 1940's tin litho set with a 999 locomotive or a late 50's/60's plastic set with a 490 locomotive? Also, how risky is buying an untested Marx train set? I know Marx trains are tough as nails, but there is always some risk when buying something 60+ years old!

I’d much prefer the 999 set. You should have no problem making them run. Condition is important. Quality over quantity is a good thing.

@@daveclarklumber Thanks for the tip! Sometimes, finding a tested one is a little harder - I guess I could contact the seller and ask about it... I think the 999 set is cooler too! Also, are these trains really loud when they run? If I do buy one, I REALLY hope it won't annoy my brother (who I share a room with) and the rest of my family - they sometimes thing my Tyco HO trains are a little loud!

They are moderately louder, certainly more than HO. It’s a great sound though!
