This is magical and i will advice the people living in that region to not only hanesse the water from the fog for domestic porposes but to grow plant seedlings and to start replanting trees by using the waste water and regrow the land may GOD continue to BLESS YOU ALL

I'm going to put together a unit that uses desalination to get clean water from Ocean or Sea water. I pray the design helps others everywhere who needs more water. No one should have to go without water!

This should be done everywhere it is possible, where the weather allows it. I'm sure it really improves the quality of life for the people in the area.

This looks like a great video… The only problem was the text was very difficult to read whenever the background was close to the color of the text. Perhaps you might be able to put a highlighter background along with your text - for example white text on a black background. Then it wouldn’t Matter what was going on in the video and we could read every word you wrote. Wonderful to see such a great innovative idea!

When I saw all the dry mountains around this village, I thought. . How nice it would be to put nets up on the tops of some of those hills, and let the water flow down to gardens and orchards.

Can u tell how they make it

I just started doing this in the De Luz hills in Southern California. I am currently in the proof of concept phase where I have 5 x 5 Raschel nets. It looks promising.

With how much populations have grown, if you think about it, there has never been this many people in need of water in all of history. But I think I'd prefer drinking fog water over even my city's supply in Ireland.😊

My uncle got hepatitis from drinking water from tap even though he boiled it in ireland back in 1992 when he was in high school . This gave him lots of complications growing older as his liver kidney and pancreas were affected. From a high schooler who was top of his class in running. He became so weak that he had to walk assisted for a while and with a cane. He also didn't marry because of the hepatitis.

how that water is purified before going to houses???

As long as there is fog in the air and you have something cooler than the surrounding air like their lines of string in the nets it will build up dew that you can collect. Fog is always low lying clouds clouds are gaseous water

I think that there are real solutions in this world that can fix a lot of problems but I think the main reason that they are not used and goverments are not even speaking about them is because they can't capitalise on them and that is very sad

You could likely use 40% shade cloth, a common agricultural material, for a basic version of this netting. Comes usually in relatively generous rolls for a low cost. Some versions come with grommets that could be used to secure it to the rigidity this application requires. I think a roll that is 6.5x13ft or ~2mx4m in measurements is currently like $20. Comes in larger 100ft/~30m lengths. Its possible some minor modifications may be required for it to drip properly but its a relatively loosely packed synthetic strand material. I think it could even be used for other double purpose perhaps if you installed it on a north/south alignment in a hot area by acting as a vertical rain catcher and shade for a row of plants from the harsher afternoon sun in places like the western states in the USA where rainfall is low on average but fall in high volume when it does. Would be less effective at fog catching if not installed perpendicular to the wind borne fog on a property though.

Could one electrically charge the net to make it attract more fog?

Do you have fogs in Australia on regular basis? Because it makes sense only if you have fog every/almost every day.

Its a shame so much waffle and less technical content.

People still want to live life in area where there is almost no life… there are a lot places in the world that are scares populated and the sahara is 1 of them, but bedouin and sine Amazigh people like to live life like that… like the girl: the smell is better, nature, they like it…

I say God who find this technology. Thank you so much finding this technology for human and creature. there are lot of God finding technologies. Hope this technology is useful Nepal too

Get 6 inch corrugated pipe and a fan and a tank and hand pump curl 100 feet on top on the ground now did a hole 20 feet or more curl another 100 feet in the ground at the end bury ur water tank now put a fan at the top side blow hot air in to it the hot air will condensate as its going through the pipe now u can pump clean water up God bless you all

fantastic, but i wish these scientists would appreciate that making some of their inventions not only functional, but beautiful can help with adoption of small communities. Artistic design often seems superfluous to scientists, but it is an important factor in ensuring wide spread adoption. And could make these places even more beautiful, instead of less.

Oh for CRYING OUT LOUD it's not an art. Sailors have done this for centuries. Grow up. They wouldn't starve if they had not multiplied their population one thousand times in one hundred years, duh, without listening to westeners who showed them hhow to prosper but they didnt' want the work. They wanted to continue being hunter warriors, not field labourers. They think field work is BORING for men...that it is womens work. When do you ever see men doing any work in Africa. No they send kids into mines and pregnant women into fields while men never run out of bullets for more vainglorious predator occupations like defending corrupt leaders from being deposed, who like the people poor and helpless so they don;'t have the strength to overthrow them. The men ensure those leaders stay in power and the west pays for it all in foreign aid. It makes my blood boil.
