I’ve been alone for 30 years. No love, no intimate contact, misery. A few months ago i I decided to let go of all the regret and told myself if I am Going to be alone forever, it’s time to accept whatever the fates have in store for me. I decided to relax and embrace whatever happens with calm and with a smirk. Yesterday I went to get my last paycheck from my old job and the girl I had a huge crush on for the past year came up to me and hugged me and asked it I would want to go do something with her. I can’t believe that it finally happened. When you embrace this life, all the good, and all the bad amazing things happen. Be brave, put love and light into the world. Let go of all resentments. That is when miracles happen and your life will radically change and all the suffering becomes worth more than diamonds.

But I can get lots human contact through a typical day ; it might be a chat with my local barista, or listening to a sermon at my church, or seeing people at a regular yoga group... There is a very big difference between being alone(intentional) & being lonely(unintentional). Two very different states of mind. Solitude is very necessary for self discovery & self transformation. Once you are fully transformed it is necessary to reintegrate back into society because human interaction becomes beautiful and less threatening once you become fully grounded and centred in who you are.

The problem is that the Press have enabled the mob, leaving no place for the excellent. Notice the word's etymology: we excel. We're called Tier One world-changers. Not out of arrogance, far from it, but because we have the breadth of vision to dare, and by daring, we win. Yes, that's the motto of the world's finest military, and they did ask me to join them: the offer was flawed, but in any case, I'm not primus inter pares, I showed them how to do it. It took a squadron to take the Iranian embassy down, reactively, I gave MI5 the heads-up on the Libyans by being on the ground observing proactively, before it kicked off. Then, working together, I won their admiration by delivery. After half the Cabinet saw me in action, they PM's advisor, Dominic Cummings, recruited more like me - and then the Press pack tore into one, destroying him. There is no point in trying to return.

Those who embrace and love solitude have no issue that has to be solved. We are enough by ourselves and that makes us emotionally invincible. I am sick of those therapists who brainwash you with the mantra that humans are hardwired for social connection and that relationships are the main source of happiness. That just means that, unlike us, they live in a state of lack.

It hurts because one puts his happiness on others, on external sources. No relationship can fulfill you more than the relationship with yourself. If you are alone and unhappy and you feel lonely you are not in a good companionship (you are not good for yourself). Being alone is different from feeling lonely. You are always alone with yourself and you should nurture your relationship with yourself. You can feel lonely amongst hundreds of people but you will always have yourself. The best and fulfilling, satisfying relationship you can have is with yourself as this is a permanent relationship. All others are temporarily and will come to an end.

DESIDERATA Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

I dare to propose an other view on solitude . I see it as an act of love towards others . When you are aware how annoing you are , instead to figth your nearest with your own recepe of hapyness , or even worse to give up your self in pleasing people ....go somewhere you find fullfillness in unhuman satisfactions , like nature or books . You can not hurt a book or a wood with your presence . Let everybody live theyr own lifes without an obligation to make you happy !

I could live alone even better if it rained every day storm's even. I also love the sun but the rain is my to go to weather. I do my best thinking walking in the rain ,i also do most of my talking, to myself while walking in the rain. I don't know why but I'm at peace when this weather happens which is getting less with clime change. ✌️☘️🌧️🌧️🌧️☁️⛈️🌨️💓

A very useful, even critical video for all those who understand the path to emotional development/growth/maturity. Solitude is not the anxiety of personal loneliness. It is the heat and pressure crucible for maturity; for the development of empathy and emotional resilience/hardiness, or anti-fragility. Well done and thank you!

Being alone is better for philosophy, for time to think about life, to reflect on things, analyze the nature of reality etc. 'Hell is other people' as the quote goes.. it's better to be alone for many introverted personalities, aside from the occasional social interaction we all seem to desire at least every once in awhile, but I get it. Extroverts on the other hand, I think are too attached to distancing themselves from an uncomfortable truth which is that in this world of existence, we are all truly alone, inside, as individuals, and when you are on your deathbed it is just you inside your own mind as you slip into the greay abyss. While we are here though, we can distract ourselves with social interaction and feel connected with others. In the end, after death, I do think the soul eventually merges back into the great all, the oneness of everything from which we all came. But im still trying to figure it out..

Solitude allows for the harmonization of mind ,body ,and spirit. It is only when one achieves this harmony that we can begin to truly live, and understand who we truly are, and finally find peace within.

The first period I spent in true solitude was during a DXM trip. I wouldn't classify the initial fear of solitude as a phobia. It's a rational fear. Most modern people haven't really experienced a state of true solitude. Even when alone, the phone can ring, the closest computer can reach out, and a short walk and knock on a door can roll the dice that a stranger will be benevolent enough to render aid. True isolation in a modern Western society is only achieved chemically. A dissociative hole you climb into willingly, because you either know you are strong enough to climb out again, or want to train through the pain of isolation to grow strong enough to claw your way back into the world of people you knew.

Some years back, I used to have a million dollar view from my bedroom window. Beautiful snowcapped mountains in the distance; in the foreground a river flowed thru a meadow that bloomed flowers in the spring and in the fall, the leaves would turn. It was unreal...like a painting. I used to look at it and think _It's nice_ ...but how much better it would have been shared with somebody.

I "love" being alone. I attend social events on a regular bases, and I meet with people who share my interests and hobbies weekly. But, I need to live alone, eat alone, sleep alone and travel alone. I am a true introvert. I am genuinely a very happy person, a cockeyed optimist, some would say. The struggle is allowing special people in my life to share my special time alone. Even as the only child growing up on a farm, I have never been the bored or lonely type. 😊

I dont have any issue with being alone, i rarely get to be home alone and when i am, im less alone than when im with people! Im an only child then a single mother and i think i learned how to defeat lonliness when i was very young. Being a loner i was always the odd one out, poor social skills, didnt know how to make friends and my mother discouraged me having friends over or going to their place. I went through a depression over it as a teen, but got over it all in my early 20s and now i can do both, be social but still prefer to be alone.. there are way more benifits being a social person

I go weeks without seeing humans. However, it was when I was trying my best to be social that I was most miserable. I require no human companionship. There is so much to gain by isolating one's self. There is so little to gain by being social. In fact, you lose a lot by being social.
