It might be that.........all I know is that my right arm is only recently coming back after three years. It's hard to even define where the pain is. Usually you can tell, this. It was interesting hearing Kearney talk about Thor’s performance on the broadcast. He was saying that when you take time off from a strength sport like Strongman one of that last things to come back into form is your pressing power. He was saying something about the way muscle is built upon on the human frame tends to favor some parts of the body and the opposite for others - like your shoulders.

Bit harsh. Mitch is a freak of nature, not everyone can compete so often. Those who have done, like Oleksii, are currently paying the price. Only time will tell if Hooper can keep that up, he's not yet 2 years into a pro career. It was 2 years ago now that the Stoltman's accepted invites but weren't committed. They were heavily criticized for it, recognised that, and have remedied it by only attending shows that they will give their all for. Not really fair to continue criticizing. Not to mention Luke will be 40 this year.

It's a shame they have both pulled out somewhat late but it does make sense. Mitch doesn't have ESM and Luke does, Tom clearly is putting it all into WSM. It's sad not to have either of them for sure though.

Difference is Mitch is able to recover quickly. Some can't. Tom has worries about his hip and bicep, so he is rehabing those. Mitch loves to compete. Unfortunately, Oleksii right now feels he needs to compete, especially for his country. Mateauz is another that needed to skip this show for me also should have skipped the Arnold's all together so he can be fully fit for ESM since that show will have similar events to WSM he should put his time on those shows since deadlift is a massive weakness and also can he last week of doing events/rest/events

Pet theory, all of the boxing and boxing drills have improved Thor’s foot speed and foot work. You also use you grip way more in boxing then you would expect because you clench you fist as you hit stuff. I think Thor’s farmers, yoke and other similar events will be stronger then ever.

Disappointing about the stream. I'm guessing from the raw nature of it that it wont be possible to watch after the fact. I'm in Australia so 8 hours in front of UK time (outside of daylight saving) so can't watch live. Arnolds Ohio was the first event I managed to watch and I was hoping to follow it up with UK.

I see another win for Mitch here. I think Thor will be closer to him than at the US Arnold’s but will probably still lose points on the log and probably dumbbell. As long as Mitch doesn’t lose to many points on the throw to Thor he’s got it in the bag I’m going 1 - Mitch 2 - Thor 3 - Bobby or gav

If Hoop avoids injury he might match the best ever in a short period of time, . There are so many great young bucks now it will be very difficult for Thor to make podiums this year. Look at these guys. So multi talented and there are so many guys who have won multiple major strongmen shows. Hoop and Evan Singleton are two of the most multi talented guys right now imo. Evan has won his share as well. He can do everything like Hooper can. Arnold events didn't go well for him though. He could have beat Thor in deadlift though.

This point is one major reason Brian started the Shaw Classic. Now known as The Strontest Man On Earth. A full 2 day contest boasting 8 diverse events that test all facets of strength. And points are accumulative over all 8 events. This is a much better representation of an overall Champion.

@@PolishPowerSawichtoo many events are also not the best, because towards the end everyone is beat up already. That is detrimental to performance overall but also raises the injury risk. I think the 6-8 event is ok, just having to select well. Pressing (log, axle), carry (shield, yoke), hinge/pull (deadlift), legs (squat, truck pull, Conan's wheel), loading (sandbag, stones, etc) grip (frame, hercules hold). A good mix of these covers basically every fundamental aspects.

@antoniocenteno1483 well his left certainly looked a bit weaker than right, so I think we can still attribute that to the pec tear.
