The Armstrong Archives: Otherworlds with David Bentley Hart
David Armstrong used to write a delightful Substack newsletter called "A Perennial Digression," for which he also recorded several interviews. He has, for various reasons--mostly having to do with time--ceased writing and recording for the publication. The contents are still available online (somewhere), and he has kindly provided me copies of the four interviews he recorded with me.
One shameful confession: at one point, where I meant to say Walter de la Mare, I for some reason said John Masefield. I cannot even imagine how that happened, but it took a week in sackcloth and ashes for me to feel pure again.

I can't ever come away from a DBH interview without a few dozen quotable excerpts.
thanks for re posting
Thanks!
DBH is awesome... Brilliant guy who also happens to be a die-hard baseball and Beatles fan.
Awesome!
After the publishing of my future book, people will forget all about my social errors and will celebrate my successes with loving cheers of joy. A man can dream, can't he?

I think I'll remain silent this time. Whoops. So much for that idea.
great talk, however, how can you get wooden traditionalists to not write off fairies as demonic deception?

Embarrassingly, I've discovered that I cannot delete my previous comments for some reason (so much for revisions).

@@leavesinthewind7441 Sorry about the late response. I was referring to the deletion of my comment. Sometimes I have a drink too many and end up saying too much, haha!

Sorry, I'm at work trying to remember the specifics. I think I was talking about something goofy I wrote that I deleted, it was nothing bad, just unimportant (like many things I've said in the past, so it's nothing new.

Forgive my punctuation. I was in a hurry.
The reason for turning into a lovely “eggshell blonde” in your twenties must be that an excess of brain cells left no room for the hair follicles; which may be quite diabolical, but at least you never have a bad hair day. 😉
My previous comment was worth deleting, so it was deleted, perhaps one of my stupedist comments of all time.
