Cry about it Armadillo is cooler than them all

The wolf armour is probably gonna look like leather, with it’s similar colours, it could be more durable but I don’t think it would surpass diamond armour, at least in minecraft. Some people said you’ll be able to upgrade it, it’s probably just gonna be a right click to equip thing, no enchantments or anything, just like dyeing collars

@@gamercentral2417 I too had that thought process with the glow squid, who mind you unironically has more potential with the glow rizz, but nothing happened, thus I think it will be a decorative cloth rather than an actual armour.

If only their AI wasn't so TERRIBLE they keep taking fall damage over and over again, then I would be happy with the Armadillo. But at the current state dogs are, you can't bring them with you for spelunking or exploring in high hills, as they fall, teleport back to you, fall again etc until they die.

It’s sad because every single mob vote has lead to confusion and controversy in a major part of the community. The majority of players will always be disappointed in the results of the vote but mojang doesn’t care because it gives them popularity and attention

They only allow placements not breakage or pvp. If it was all 3 then it would've won but only removing the need to place a block for 1/3 common actions instead of all 3 is a deal breaker for most people hence why it didn't win

@@rost123lav I build in survival exclusively, keep the attitude in check. The crab claw would’ve been extremely useful and if it’s rare - good. Not every item needs to be found 5 feet from your base.

all 3 should be added all 3 were good additions. although i think the penguin should get a different “ability”. maybe make it push stuff on ice with a belly slide kinda like a goat.

It's not that it's super good or useful. it's that the others are worse. Boating and bringing dogs to fights only applies to certain moments in time or only a small community. People let their emotions get to them, so they voted for it with their bias and overtrust in mojang to add extra work. It was just a gamble.

Dang, this is the one I wanted least. Crabs had the most useful effect, and penguins are the cutest. The armadillo isn't as cute, and wolf armour doesn't really matter since I never take my dogs into fights :P

imagine quitting minecraft for a mob vote, i voted for armadillo, but if the other mobs would have won, i wouldn't be dissapointed at all. i personally believe the armadillo would actually be a game changer, because it doesn't just give you dog armor, but it might also update the barren biomes that it's in a 2+ block reach would be good for escapes and building, but it's just seems like it's not a game changer because we can already reach far enough the penguin is obviously the worst choice, aside it from being talented in swimming, making boats faster seems unnecessary a lot of people are dissapointed from the crab losing, but i just feel like the armadillo actually added SOMETHING NEW.

Think about how few people actually use wolves for more than a week or so, but you can literally always benefit from extended reach in pvp, pve combat, building, and mining. Maybe it wouldn’t have really turned out that useful but I feel like it’s got more use cases than dog armor and fast boats

@@dizzy2544 by the way the dog armor IS to make your dog a combat dog, and with armor trims it can make them look better as well. Also fall damage and lava can apply to any animal in the game, that’s also what fire resistance is for

i know for a fact that at most 75% of the community are ever going to go for it. the crab claw had so many uses for everyone, Builders, PVP, Redstone, avoding traps and exploration. the wold armor just protects your dog which is sitting at home forgotten about most of the time EDIT: for pvp, it can be used for water, lava, blocks, or if yoou have brain rot. end crystals

Very unfortunate, armour will do nothing, people just leave their wolves at home. Armour will not help wolves survive explosions or lava, you could already insta heal them.

I use large army’s of them to fight raids and it is to effective the pillagers just can’t do anything. But I do lose a lot of them to evokers so the armor in my opinion would help them significantly in combat and let me cut down on the replacements supplies. Overall decent mob. But I do think they shouldn’t have locked the armor in a mob vote because alot of people have been wanting it for a LONG time.

One idea I think could’ve had crab win: apart from its claw make it able to drop crab meat. A food item that HAS to be cooked on a campfire and will replenish the same amount of hunger as a cooked chicken (if you’ve never had crab it is surprisingly filling)

the crab it's better than the armadillo because the crab item it's very useful for construction also it was confirmed that it also could remove blocks from more area but it will depend how good is it on your needs

I didnt vote but was kinda hoping the armadillo would win. I dont use wolfs for combat so the armor doesnt intrest me. But the potential for more mobs in the mesa biome is nice.

Protection IV and Thorns would be nice. And Featherfalling would be pretty great for Wolfs too. Keep killing themselves by running of ledges when I travel with a large pack of them.

i'm so glad. Since i was worried at first because the Crab was getting more attention but i started seeing more video hyping the Armadillo up

The crab would have revolutionized the meta of the game with extended reach if it was implemented properly. The wolf armor makes a relatively useless mob still relatively useless but for a slightly longer time. I seriously don’t understand why the crab lost but whatever I guess

On one hand I'm pissed that all three weren't added and the mob vote continues while on the other hand I'm glad the Armadillo won as they're pretty cool and wolves have been needing a defense buff since they were added, OVER TEN YEARS ago. Just sucks we needed another mob's sole purpose to be that buff, would've been cool if the armadillo was tamable and could be a battle pet as well and could maybe roll into enemies knocking them back and doing a bit of damage.

I honestly didnt expect the armadillo to win but im cool with any of them really

there is also going to be auto crafters, paired with armadillos can let you make wolf armor, will be fun to have an army

The blockiness of the armadillo is what sold me on it. Aesthetically, it just fits for Minecraft better than the other two. I hope the other two make their way into the game eventually

I was torn between the armadillo in the crab. I just wanted wolf armor and the crab looked like a spider and would help with building. I hope the crab will rise again but I’m so happy that my wolves will be safer!

I would probably respect the people mad that armadillo won if their whole argument wasnt "nobody uses wolves for combat" Thats the point. Nobody uses them because they die so easily. Im sure this is the reason you have it in the corner of your base instead of adventuring with you. Wolves werent given a combat feature to attack mobs with you for no reason. If they didnt die so easily i would take them out of the house, This is why i chose wolf armor. Besides, build reach is already far enough for me tbh.

Like why do u want a wolf armour for the wolf if it will sit at your base all the time. The worst mob was Penguin dude not armadillo, and i think the reason the dog stays in your base is because of that, no armor, dies kinda easily, i may be wrong but that's the reason i place him in the corner of my base, also savanna really needs something new, also crab would bê kinda useless in bedrock since their range is better than java, anyways mob vote sucks.

The Penguin and Crab both join the rest of the lost mobs. The three unknown mobs from 2017, The meerkat, the vulture, the Iceologer, the Moobloom, the Glare, the Copper golem, the rascal and the tuff golem in the pit of wasted ideas.

As a armadillo voter i'm satisfied

When they add wolf armor i swear they better add netherite horse armor to go with it or im rioting

if mojang is adding wolf armor i think they better rewrite the wolf script too, because literally EVERYTIME i use a wolf to fight it gets hit repeatedly by the slashing mechanic om the sword

I think you missed the fact they mentioned the frog, as a looser who got added in a later update. VU while talking abt the penguin loosing, was mentioning how they can still be added at a later date.

Honestly I would be happy to test a canon on a wolf with a pet armour to see how it goes

I wonder what the margin was, your poll showed a strong lead for armadillo but I saw many with a strong crab lead

I've played Minecraft for a decade and wolf armor is something all my friends have always wanted, me included. Having a Wolf companion is something that connects you more to your world if you like that type of gameplay. Minecraft is already a fairly easy game and having a wolf is just added difficulty in my eyes because you are not only caring for your safety but your pet too. So the armor is a must even if it just helps it survive 2 more hits, that's the difference between surviving or dying, it's not pointless but for some people it may be nothing. Also the armadillo is a cool mob that will give more live to the savannah, it also may introduce weird mechanics with redstone functioning as a block but we don't know yet Crabs are very cool too and im a big fan of the crabs vibing meme, the extended reach is very useful in placing and destroying blocks, but, i considered if it would also affect the range of pickup and it most likely wont have that function. I don't dislike the idea of the extra reach but if im still going to get closer to pickup the item then its not really useful For Me. Extended reach in pvp would be cool as an idea but I don't think they ever mentioned it. Honestly I would have been fine with either in the long term but wolf armor is something I cant let slip, its something I've always wanted in vanilla Minecraft and I hate Mojang for forcing these stupid decisions on their community if they dont want to miss out on their favorite mob/mechanic. If they just added all three no one would miss out and everyone would have their favorite, i dont care if they take 6, 8, 12 more months just make a GOOD update

Ngl this minecon kinda sucked. The new update is confusing. But I am somewhat happy about the armadillo, though the farther reach would’ve been of more use to me.

Some people in the comments need to realize that lots of people also voted based on how much they just liked the mob.

Is there a way to access that world after the voting? I was playing on it and had too much fun sniping the creeper balloons 😂

I would like it if you could vote for all 3 of them and whatever threshold they pick for the yes over no ratio makes the mob get added. If it were like that all 3 mobs would probably have been added.

For the people who want the crab claw to place blocks further then just walk forward

It also lets you break blocks from further away, the devs said so. How many times have you tried to break the top of a tree and it's just out of reach? Or have gone mining and needed to reach a high up ore vein? This would have been the best QoL item ever.

I was unable to vote, but I wanted the Armadillo to win anyway. I have too much trauma to want anything else.

I been not able to vote, it did not let me. what the hell happent I thought they said we have 48 hour to vote.

We're getting a dungeon made almost entirely of Tuff and Copper, so this is the perfect opportunity to add the Tuff and Copper Golem. Would be incredibly depressing if they don't, and would expose that they flatout lied about adding the losers when the "time is right". What other time but now would there be to add the Tuff and Copper Golem!? Like shown in their original mob vote video The Copper Golems could be oxidized around certain areas of the dungeon, showing how long it's been since the dungeon and golems were built, while also acting as amazing statues. Tuff Golems could be simular, holding loot that can be gotten. They'd have to implement some easy methods of moving them out of the dungeon, considering they are small I'd just have them be minable or drop themselves upon "death", allowing them to be replaced elsewhere.

They did, what they always do. And this thing is not listening to the community. We want all three!

the reason it won is becausew its an entire addition, not an enhancment, making something faster or maki g somethin further is justa an enhancment , adding an entire new genre, (wolf armor) is bigger and mojang might even lett you add trims and upgrade it

I think this update should be called the Combat Update 2 and add the new combat mechanics that Jens was working on for so long. This wolf armor will allow you to take your wolf or even an army of them into the trial chambers.
