Hello Dear Sir! I and colleague are considering to apply for asylum. We are french speaking people from the Republic of Congo, and we have come to the USA almost two months ago by plane with a visitor visa . We fled our country because some higher police officers (people who have influence over political parties, social groups, and some local companies) wanted to arrest us, because we did not want to be memberships of a particular social group. So my question is, what do we really need before we submit our application? Currently We have filled the I 589 form, we have written a one page story, we have our passeports on us, and we have our birth certificates and we do have them translated into english. But is there anything else we need before we submit the application?? Any piece of advice would be of a lot of help. Thanking you in advance, Sir!

Great video very useful, thank you for everything you do. I have a question for you. In the case of application that include family members, how the packages must be organized? The information provided in the USCIS instructions is quite confusing. In the case of the original package, what should I include the Identification documents of my wife and the marriage certificate or not? In the case of my family relative package, what should I include ? Everything from the original package including the evidences? or just the I-589, ID Docs for my wife and I, and Marriage certificate?

The form doesn’t let me put “Present” in “To Date” field. What do I put there? For example last five year address, the most recent one is from 01/2021 until present date but it doesn’t allow me to put present. Thank you in advance!

When you apply with family you have to print separate copies of the same form and attach their pictures in the separate forms. It should be signed by them or the main applicant will sign. Also please make it clear for me when need to send we have to send original form of each with copies or just one is enough

What passport number do I have to write in my I-589 if I had 2? Before leaving my country I had 2 passports, one valid and one expired. On the way, shortly before crossing the border, some people stole my current passport to extort money from me, and when I met the border patrol I gave them the expired one. In this case, what passport should I write in the Part A.I Question 21? I'm confused because some people have told me that I should put the number of the one I gave to homeland security, and others tell me to put the most recent. Thank you

Hi, I have a question about filling in this form, and I can’t find the answer anywhere on the Internet. So there are several areas in which I cannot write anything. For Part B, Question 1.A. specifically, it should permit you to write the answer to that very important question if you check the "Yes" checkbox. On other fields, it can be frustrating that it does now allow certain typed characters including some punctuation. Just do your best to include the content of your answer even if the punctuation is imperfect. You may also want to consider another option -- it is now also possible for some people to complete and submit the asylum application online! It's been over 3 months ➕ now but haven't gotten any updates regarding my application. No receipt issued, no biometrics appointment he doesn't respond to my messages either. I left the California Imperial camp 5 months ago with my credible fear positive results and a notice to appear but my case was later transferred to Boston. Today, I checked my clock using my A Number online as instructed by ASAP on how to check asylum application clock but the system said No Clock. Does it mean, my asylum was not applied?? What should I do? My next master hearing is July 2024. Thank you very much
