For fuck's sake. Kerry King's solo band just confirmed what most of us knew after listening to Slayer's "Repentless": King is not a very creative or original song writer 🤷‍♂️

Well in fairness its kinda hard to write original stuff when your so deep into your career unless you completely shift to a different genre, everyone has there strengths and weakness and techniques that they fall back on, back when Slayer started Kerry wrote a good amount of there bangers, every artist has a fall off, Repentless wasn't a great album either.

As a person who’s been listening to Slayer since 1986, who has seen them live at least nine times and considers them to be one of my favourite bands of all time, I might be considered by certain metrics to be a Slayer fan. I mean, I will even vigorously defend certain Slayer albums that aren’t so highly rated by many, such as Divine Intervention, Diabolus in Musica, World Painted Blood, etc. Therefore, I do feel compelled to state my feelings about this video. Honestly it’s… absolutely hilarious, one of the funniest things I’ve seen recently. The worst thing about being a Slayer fan has always been having to share a fandom with the kind of knuckle-dragging dingbats whose comments are cited within. And I’ve been putting up with it for thirty-eight years! That’s dedication for you. See, Slayer was once the mightiest thrash band to stalk the planet. Their 80s output (and Seasons) was peerless, and they even weathered the 90s pretty well, particularly when you consider the efforts of a lot of other 80s metal bands during that decade. Let’s just say that for a lot of bands of a similar vintage, the 90s wasn’t their finest hour. As we progressed deeper into the 21st century, however, it became clear that there was one particular classic, revered, 80s thrash band who were absolutely slaying it (pun intended) with every release, putting out banger after banger of an album. That band was, of course, Sl… no, sorry, it was Kreator. I mean, I do like Slayer’s last few albums - I even think Repentless is pretty decent - but I can’t deny that each of them contains a certain amount of filler. And the thing about From Hell I Rise is, well… it’s ALL filler. It’s almost as if Kerry King wanted to make an album, like he wanted to fill that album, one could say, and that maybe he used some sort of material generally used for filling things to do it. I can’t remember the word, exactly, but I think I may have mentioned it earlier.

Kerry King is a metal legend but let’s be real. Jeff Hanneman is the heart and Dave Lombardo is the soul of slayer. I really don’t think Slayer becomes Slayer without those 2. And I would say as well that Kerry is the least talented member of that original lineup. Also “Heaviest thrash album”? Tell me you haven’t listened to Kreator, Sodom, Razor, Dark Angel, Demolition Hammer, Devastation, Possessed, Sepultura, Testament, Revocation, Protector, Rigor Mortis, Morbid Saint, 80s SLAYER ALBUMS and MANY MANY Other Extreme thrash especially Deaththrash or Blackthrash bands.

There's even *Metallica* albums that are heavier than this, so you'd have to be extra-stupid to think that. Would also like to mention more bands that are heavier/more extreme than Kerry's band. •Slaughter •Demolition Hammer •Protector •Sepultura •Vulcano (although this is much less thrash and more first wave black metal) •Condor •Pentagram (Chile, not USA. Also, I feel like I should mention that some of their material is just one growl away from being death metal) •Dark Angel •Razor (*Especially* on "Violent Restitution") •Merciless •Minotaur •Exhorder •Interceptor (they sound a lot like Venom now, but they're still great) •Venom (since I mentioned that Interceptor went from sounding like Metallica + Exodus with some Sodom sprinkled in to sounding like these guys) •Sadus •Messiah (don't know if they count as thrash or not) And that's not even all of them.

I think that one comment thinking that you listen to maroon 5 hasn't heard of walk the moon or LANY or the last dinner party or the lemon twigs lol

Playing the vinyl on a quality system sounds good. To me it’s better than a lot of stuff I just can’t get with like all these different “--core” bands everywhere.

I also did not think it was great. Robert wondering if someone has called you a Karen? I got called a Karen because I said that the new Jamey Jasta album cover is cringe.

I have never understood the anger that people feel when someone doesn't like their favorite album. They act like someone is insulting their mother. If everyone enjoyed the same music, everyone would get sick of hearing the same songs wherever they go.

I saw Kerry King this weekend at Download Festival in England, and the only part of the set i can recall is when they played Raining Blood. That's how forgettable his solo songs are lol

You also can't critique media if you make it, either, as the Chris Stuckmann discourse has proven (oh no, he's said upfront that he's only going to review movies he has mostly positive thoughts about from now on, we can't trust anything he says anymore because critique only means looking at the negative aspects, because critique comes from critical and critical only has one meaning and it's negative, you don't have to look that up in the dictionary).

Kerry King is pretty much on the level with his Only Fans customers. He's always loved to talk shit about other musicians, and anyone else who he disagrees with. Mark Osgueda's Vocals were wasted on boring music.

Yeah, I never understood the whole "let's hear your band" argument. Like you can't have an opinion on music unless you're a musician? Who do they think buys the albums? Who do they think buys concert tickets? Who do they think buys band merch? What percentage of those do they think are professional musicians? Probably less than 5% and that's being generous. So yeah, the music buying public definitely has the right to say what they think about the music they hear.

I own many Slayer albums and I haven't even been interested enough in this album to even check it out yet; maybe eventually. I can't believe people get so mad about this shit lol.
