The Angle Pull

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Using the 2018 Canadian Electrical Code, i describe the steps required to size the minimum dimensions of a pull box with conduits entering and exiting on adjacent walls, creating the "Angle Pull".
This is intended as an instructional aid, and local jurisdictional authorities should be consulted for clarification of rules.

Finally a Canadian code site, Please keep sending these videos. I have been an electrician in Canada for over 40 years and am still learning. Thanks for sharing.

Hi schulerruler, great training materials for working with CEC. I suggest to consider adding videos for panelboard or distribution panel design and selection for industrial and residential application. Thanks.

Hi check the side that includes 35 TSC and 41TSC you added 21 which is the location on the other wall means should be ( 41*6) + 35 = 281mm, is it correct?

I'm curious the outside diameter of a 41 conduit is more than 41 (the inside diameter is more than 41 too). Does this (minor) discrepancy need to be taken into consideration while calculating box size?

For sizing the boxes, no. For sizing conduit using table 10, 8, and 9, yes, then the internal diameter, or really the internal area is taken into account and all conduits and raceways are different in that regard.

so what if the wire size is # 12 ( or smaller then #4). apx 40 wires coming into a 24X24X6 jb from the back with 2" conduit. what calculation would I use. BTW love the videos.

At smaller conductor sizes there is less of a concern for bending radius, so there isn't a calc for it besides a volumetric box fill using table 22. That and care to not damage conductors on connector throats. Thanks for the support!

I really wish CEC used inches and feet instead of annoying mm. its annoying having to constantly divide 25.4. That being said, so the box needed would be 12" x 14" ?
