Vistario refers to Rylanor as "it" at first, then starts saying "he" instead, which I did not realize while reacting to the song, but I did notice it after, and it is a pretty cool detail !

Rylanor, The Ancient of Rites, the eldest of all the Emperor's Children. He held sacred and iterated the trials and rites of his Legion. So scant few in numbers were him and his brothers, that to lose him would have been nearly as devastating as losing his father, Fulgrim. Fulgrim, beloved and honorable. He was beautiful in form and of his soul. He was the promise to ALL Mankind; Human Perfection made manifest, that one day all shall be like himself. Uplifting the tired and downtrodden, mending the heartbroken and rousing the demoralized - for he understood their struggle and suffering, he was one of them: A miner on a forgotten world left to slowly die. But the THING he became was odious and unworthy of the most vile of insults, the most venomous of words. The pursuit of perfection, the ever-slipping slope to hell, damnation and treachery taken one unaware step at a time until the creature he had become was unrecognizable - it could no longer even be considered Fulgrim. For him to have ordered 1/3rd of his legion, HIS SONS, to be slaughtered for their undying loyalty to Mankind and The Emperor was an action too-far gone, especially when the salvation of all was so close... it was so very close. Yet Rylanor survived, sealed hermetically within his own crypt, a nearly indestructible walking sarcophagus entombed upon an artificial body; his own was nearly destroyed. As the Virus bombs fell, Rylanor watched his brothers being eaten alive and turned to genetic slime whilst he bare the curse of living, of witnessing. But worse still, his crypt was damaged, legs crippled and left smote against a pile of snow and rock with only empty suits and an undetonated Virus Bomb tucked behind him to keep him company for 10,000 years as the nutritious Amniotic Fluid surrounding his body slowly turned stale, then rancid, then poisonous. A living nightmare made reality and borne all for the sake of taking vengeance upon the MONSTER that did this to him and his little brothers, the empty suits surrounding him who were clawing at their own armors in miserable agony and suffering as they died so long ago.

I am not sure if this is text from somewhere or if you typed it all yourself, but I have to say that this is a very profound and genuinely nice to read way to express these characters and events, Rylanor's dedication is truly inspiring and his tale is something that made such a beautiful song that I keep listening to every now and then, and I really want to see the lore video of Fulgrim too, it's very long so I have been putting it aside so far, but I really want to see it sometime soon, from all the little things I have heard about who he used to be I really can see how big of a tragedy this "thing" that he has become is, and I would also really like to know more about the clone of him, if there is any info about that, I hope that is covered somewhere too, I am not the kind of person who reads so I know lore just through lore videos and comments/memes but this universe really captivates me so much these days that I can't stop being curious about all kinds of things

@@VithLiahain Oh wow, thank you! It’s not anything from official GW sources, but rather a summary I wrote for anyone who wished to know more. But to be considered indistinguishable beside the official works is quite the compliment! Warhammer 40,000 is something that means very much to me and I spend a lot of my time reading, watching or listening to the lore. The universe is rich and vast. Much is known, yet the potential is still limitless and unknowable - unlike many respected works, there is unimaginable room for growth. You mentioned you wished to learn more of The Promise to Humanity, The Palantine Phoenix? Might I recommend the honorable Baldermort and his video of Fulgrim to view or possibly react to? The video is of artisan craftsmanship and narrated to excellence, rarely a second wasted, nary an emotion missed. Though it is there-abouts an hour-and-a-half long. The unfortunate downside is there is not much to react to visually. It’s a narration over a slideshow of art - but that doesn’t seem much of an issue to you, given Rylanor’s Last Stand is even less than that. I appreciate you for your reaction here. It’s a highly viewed and awe-striking ballad, yet so few react to it and even fewer are worth watching at all. A shame your viewerbase is so small, a waste that you should be overshadowed by, at best, mediocrity, when you are far more involved, inquisitive and responsive.

@@ArchAngelLevon So it was you that wrote all of that, it honestly really was more epic and theatrical in terms of phrasing than even most of the lore videos that I have reacted to, I really do appreciate the flair, and yeah the Warhammer universe is starting to mean quite a lot to me too, with all the videos I am watching, the memes too and so on, I just feel like doing more and more, also I had that lore video about Fulgrim in my "Watch later" list for a long time now, it is exactly how long it is that made me not react to it yet, since sometimes when I am REALLY into something I can make even a 30 minute video into double that time or even more, and multiple people recommended it so far, I will do it one of these days finally, and lastly, thank you for that last part, it is probably the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my content so thank you very much, and no worries, I will keep going, there's no stopping me, no matter how slow progress is !

I love this song but damn is this story depressing. Fulgrim was acting like such a vindictive little brat. Like that line 11:17 there was more to it. Something around, "you had millennia to tell me, you have my attention and do make it good." whole line was just dripping with venom. But Rylanor laughed and pretty much said, "huh, yeah you can say that." But at the end Fulgrim said something along the lines of, "I can give you a new body, honor and glory can be yours as my right hand." Rylanor said, "hell no I'd rather die." and with a smile on his face Fulgrim said, "oh, I'm sorry, that wasn't a question..." That's when Rylanor hit despair and when the Thousand Sons turned. He was going to pervert everything Rylanor is. Twist his honor, pride, and righteous to be used in service of the man he sworn to destroy. It hits harder because that's kind of the same thing that happened to Fulgrim so it's like perpetuating a cycle of forced corruption.

Yeah the whole situation is really badass but depressing at the same time, if you think about the Heresy and betrayal, being confined in a Dreadnought and waiting to get revenge for such a long time, trapped (technically double trapped, cause Dreadnought, AND the location), remembering the fallen bretheren, not knowing what happened to the Imperium and the others, many other factors too, and then the whole encounter, seeing what Fulgrim became, being basically powerless for a moment when the bomb was stopped from detonating, Fulgrim's words and saying that he'll force Rylanor to become what he wants, all together is QUITE a tale, but the song makes me feel so many emotions, I keep coming back to listen to it every now and then, and also, I'd like to think that Rylanor joined the Legion of the Damned after he died

I feel like you've gotten off on the wrong foot with Fulgrim like sooo many people have, please don't fall into that same trap. People who skim over him see him as that arrogant Primarch who eventually fell to Slaneesh and became disgusting. That is untrue. Everything you hear Rylanor speak and his attitude is, in his own words, because it's how Fulgrim taught him, all he's doing is staying loyal to it. This song and the story is amazing, but I think you should use it to find out why people say the Emperor's Children fell the furthest. I again recommend you Baldemort's "Primarch Fulgrim" video. It's great Also the reason the Thousand Sons didn't immediately realise they were on Isstvaan III and why Rylanor didn't immediately kill them for being traitors, was because the Thousand Sons weren't on Isstvaan nor were they declared traitors at the time. Isstvaan III was the very first big blow Horus threw to start off the Heresy and he did it as a sneak attack, not many new of it for a while.
