It is crazy that this snake actually ran into you guys, let you scan her and stood perfectly still so that you could explain her organs. I hope you paid her well!

I love your animations, I find them didactic and interesting, the spider vid blew my mind. As a snake fan, would it be too much to ask for more detail about the muscle groups and how it articulates with the skeleton? I am deeply interested in the biomechanics of living things in general, and I have found little information about it as accessible and engaging as your videos.

Thank you so much! It is always a little bit difficult on how much information I put in such an animation.. for this one I needed 5 months, so I thought: o.k. if I model and explain the muscles, it would take another 2 months..

Thank you for changing it to saying venomous. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to animals.

you are welcome! Actually, there is only the word "Gift" in German and my English is good, but not that good, that I knew the difference between venom and poison before.

Hearing someone else who takes issue with the difference between venom and poison is immensely refreshing. I tire of hearing people call spiders, snakes, and other technically venomous creatures "poisonous"
In biology, a key idea to understanding is that function follows form. The way a thing is shaped and how it moves tells you everything. If a thing is shaped differently, it will function differently. These animations do a fantastic job at showing how these animals, whose form is so different from ours, still manages to function in such a majestic fashion. Beautiful work!
Hundreds of years of research and study in less than ten minutes, amazing!
There we go. Now the video is perfect 👏

So excited to see version 2 of this! I’m proud to have been involved with it :) The animations are incredible and the creator’s dedication to providing accurate information really shows. As for how I got involved with it, there were a good number of inaccuracies in the first version (beyond even the poison/venom issue), and I was disappointed by this because of how good the spider video was and the quality of the animations, so I wrote a long(and by long I mean like 5 paragraphs), angry comment about how the video was “not really informative in its current state”, which was definitely a bit harsh for the creator’s second biology video. I was not expecting a response, certainly not a nice one. Not only did I get a response, but Oliver worked through each of the corrections in making this second version (I’m on KZread a lot and KZreadrs releasing corrected videos this early into the lifespan of a video is basically unheard of because it splits views between them which is bad for the algorithm) and he even let me look at his updated script and gave me a sneak preview of his next biology video (It’s still in the early research stages but it’s on an absolutely fascinating animal, so you should definitely look out for it). He even credited me in the description which isn’t even something I asked for. If you are curious about what the changed where, the big script change besides venom-> poison was to the facts regarding the circulatory system. And the two animations that changed based on my comment were the Jacobson’s organ animation (which also involved a script change to go along with it) and the snake skin shedding animation. Which is now totally gorgeous and much more accurate :) There were tons of other little animation improvements btw, an area where the first video was already inarguably excellent. This one is a masterpiece.

Hi Harry! Again, thank you so much for helping me doing the corrections for this version 2. Even though it was a big consideration whether to release a new version, because the old video did well, I think it was worth it. It is great that we have met here and I am looking forward to seeing what the future brings. Have a nice weekend, all the best, Oliver
Ah, you fixed the Jacobson's organ part. :)

Hey, thank you so much! It is always great for me, when people notice the work, I put into this. As a one man show, I need for an animation like this about 4- 5 months from the idea to doing the research, modeling, animation, rendering, Audio editing and so on. Have a nice weekend!

Another interesting thing that I heard, snakes have theirs breathing hole on the bottom of their mouth and this allows them to swallow big prey and still breathe

I love these anatomy videos. It would be really cool to see birds next. I learned about how birds' lungs work somewhat recently and it was really fascinating how they breathe in only one direction instead of two ways like we do so they're receiving constant oxygen.

I remember reading that younger snakes will give all its venom in one bite, where as an adult snake will give a dry bite as a warning to back off.
