I know this phenomenon as apophenia. It’s highly correlated with a person’s level of openness (under the psychology definition). It’s good because it recognizes coincidences and makes meaning of patterns, but also can be related to psychological disorders like schizophrenia causing people to think someone is watching them or that there is a conspiracy against them. Everyone experiences apophenia, it just matters whether you are discerning enough to chalk it up to coincidence or not.

Really? That's such a neat concept. Makes me think of how, in some lakes, some native fish have become almost impossible to catch due to catch-and-keep fishing. The fisherman's success leaves the most stealthy fish to reproduce. Interesting to see the impact man has on the environment, whether directly or otherwise

@@benny_lemon5123 not just stealthy, but small- multiple species of highly farmed fish have grown smaller and smaller over generations as smaller fish are thrown back while larger ones are removed from the gene pool, and so smaller adults have been accidentally selected for genetically.

As a photographer, I can tell you that light angle has a hell of a lot to do with all of this. You can try it yourself with a 3D object and a flashlight. (Sometimes it's just fun to see what things look like with different lighting.)

Today my grandpa died. My mom told me we had to go to the wake in order to pay our respects. I told that stupid bitch, "no 😡😡😡 I'm going to stay home and play among us." My mom, who was visibly tearing up, began to shout at me about how disrespectful I was being. I replied with "thats a bit sussy mom." My dad walked in after he heard everything from the hallway and slapped me. On our way to the wake, I played Among us on my phone and got an epic😎😎😎 impostor win. But I had to put away the phone before we went inside the church. After the priest said all his dumb shit about god and whatever, everyone lined up to visit the casket and pay respects. When it was my turn, I looked at my grandpa's corpse and thought of the funniest shit ever. I screamed out, "BODY REPORTED!" Everyone turned to me and was confused. The priest was shocked. I looked at them and made the confused pepe face and said, "Do you guys play Among us? Don't ANY of you use Reddit." I could see my Uncle comforting my crying grandma. "Thats a bit sus grandma. We should eject you." She then began full on sobbing. My parents were huddled down and trying to hide from everyone. I then thought of an amazing idea that would get everyone laughing. I grabbed my grandpas corpse and made him sit up. I then made him do the huge when the impostor is sus face and screamed, "WHEN THE IMPOSTOR IS SUS😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳!!!!" My mom ran up, grabbed me, and yanked me away from the casket. But since I was still holding grandpa's arm, I accidentally pulled his corpse to the floor. I heard a couple of screams and many people were now crying. I heard threats against my life from the crowd. I slapped the casket to act like I was pressing the emergency button from among us and screamed " EMERGENCY MEETING. EVERYONE IS ACTING SUS. YOU ARE ALL IMPOSTORS. 😡😡😡🤬🤬😡. We left and drove home in silence. I was so happy when I got home I ran up to post on reddit about how I trolled my church with among us while playing among us. While playing, I heard my parents talk about adoption, whatever that means.
