LYRICS
I have so many anchors
So many, so many
So many anchors
Far too many to be sailing on these seas
They're pulling me under
And I just want to be freed
But I'm just drowning and clasping
To the tinder and twine
Not the firm planks and rope
That I know to be mine
That I know to be mine
I have so many anchors
Bound to my feet
It feels like I'll forever be bound
To the bottom of these seas
Will you hear nothing I say
As the tide just sweeps and sways
As the anchors that bind me
Just rust and decay
As I tear my flesh from bone
As I scream out to the sky
When will I find my way home?
There are sirens watching me
And they whisper and smile to me
And I'm screaming out to them
Please take these anchors from my feet
OH
I see the moon up above
I've failed my hope
I've thrown out my love
I still want to live
I still want to hope
I still want to give
I still want to grow
I was dead and gone
I was cold and alone
I was weighed down and buried
When will I find my way home?
Will you hear nothing I say
As the tide just sweeps and sways
As the anchors that bind me
Just rust and decay
As I tear my flesh from bone
As I scream out to the sky
When will I find my way home?
Let's get it
When will I find my way home?
Will you hear nothing I say
As the tide just sweeps and sways
As the anchors that bind me
Just rust and decay
As I tear my flesh from bone
As I scream out to the sky
When will I find my way home?
As I tear my flesh from bone
As I scream out toward the sky
When will I find my way home?

My first song from The Amity Affliction. This was during high school when I was 11th grade. Good memories
I seriously don't know why amity is not that popular.

It is their anthem
one of the best bands of our generation. legends
Most underrated hardcore band out there, they should be huge! Chasing Ghosts is going to put them on another level
I'll never get sick of hearing that song
I remember listening to this in 2013/2014 I remember when this felt new. Now it’s solidified in what I remember about the early 2010s. Different time that I hated initially but it’s kinda fun and beautiful looking back now.

pretty ironic how when i first heard open letter in 2012 i immediately heard the full youngbloods album just to see what songs were good ...and i listened to all of them but i thought they were trash cause i didnt like the genre and look at me now loving this band including every track from this album
This is literally the song that got me into Amity

These guys are AMAZING live. One of the few bands that has a singer that sounds just as he does o the albums.
2023 still golden
the one mistake i keep making is read the lyrics word for word as the song plays and it leaves me in tears 😭 so damn good!!
Words can not describe how much i relate to this song

10 years of so many anchors. Love TAA!
I love the new stuff don't get me wrong but I'd love this style of Amity back. The heavier progressions and the higher pitched Ahren
I swear to God, every new song (new song for me) I hear from this guys, I just love it more and more
This needs to hit 1 mil before the end of this year
This sounds a lot better than the newest album! I wish I could find it on cd because it might be something I wouldn't mind owning even

Crazy this is the first song I heard from anchors, brings so much memories
I thought this band was going to be terrible at first, but now I am so in love I just can't even comprehend!

Love this song! its just so awesome! One of my fav's by them.
Love this song
Will forever love TAA
this song is one of my fav's because i like the variety of screaming and clean. i hear people saying it would be better if the screaming wasn't there, but i like the fact that it is. the amity affliction stands out to me because i find its not TOO heavy and not too soft for my liking, it has both clean and screaming. fave band to see live aswell :D:D

My interpretation of this song is; As you go through life, you'll meet a lot of people that try to bring you down, aka: lead on your soul. A personal struggle to find yourself and be happy in a sea of negativity, once you find/accept yourself you'll be able to stay afloat.
A lot of meaning behind this song.
If only my friends liked this kind of music.
Love this band. Seen them many times live and the clean vocals are legit. He's just got a shitload of talent. If you don't like it, don't listen. Simple.
One of my favorite bands!
Such a timeless song
I cant stop listening to this
i am so fucking love this band .
shes allowed to listen to "TAA" even if she is in grade 8. they are a amazing band and every one should listen to them Knobsmacker

The funny thing is I used to think in exactly the same way as you, in regards to screaming. But the truth is, the more I listened to screaming and songs that incorporated screaming, the more I grew to have an absolute love for the expression. Don't let screaming turn you off. Just keep listening :).
fucking perfect, cant get much better then the amity affliction!

This is an awesome song.
there's actually a list of Aaron and Joel's meaning behind each song (in this album) not sure about the others. it's pretty awesome though to be able to see their perspective.
