The American Revolution Was Not Revolutionary

“The American Revolution was not revolutionary.” Since the colonial rebellion maintained the same slavery, wealth inequity, and power of White elites it had under Britain, was it just another war?
Watch what Kellie Carter Jackson, author of WE REFUSE, has to say about what a true revolution accomplishes.

What do you think? How revolutionary was America's War of Independence?

Ignorance, lies, and race-baiting are becoming weaker and weaker, and America growing stronger for it. God Bless America, and Happy Independence Day to the greatest nation in the history of the world. 🇺🇲🇺🇲

You also forget that there were states in the north that had abolished slavery way before the revolutionary war. You also don't mention that only 1% of Americans owned slaves. This was a pretty apathetic attempt at a history lesson

Yeah, no, putting aside the fact that revolution and rebellion are often optics terms determined by who wins, the American Revolution did achieve major social change in creating a representative government that wasn't answerable to England. That it was not perfectly equitable is irrelevant. No society is perfect and by that standard there have been no revolutions since every revolution has had oversights and oppressions and the two other major revolutions often covered in textbooks: French and Communist, had astronomical levels of oppression attached to them.

Your dialogue is not intellectually honest, aggressively dumbed down, and geared toward a young and naive audience that grew up on KZread. If you don't think the American Revolution was a revolution, then you don't understand monarchy and the British Empire. For more clarity regarding chattel slavery, see all peoples and cultures in the history of the world. Since you like the 1700s, start with the continent of Africa. You can learn a lot about slavery, including modern-day slavery, there. Fortunately for you, you live in the U.S. You are right regarding the Civil War. All civil wars are nation-altering, including the ones taking place today. That being said, civil wars don't begin a narrative, they add to it. For the record, Haiti is a failed state that can only reasonably be described as trash. No offense to individual Haitians, some of whom I personally know and like. Fortunately for them, they were smart enough to get to the U.S. as fast as they could when they had the chance. Happy Independence Day, all!...💯

Gerald Horne's book "The Counter Revolution of 1776" is a must read. He has a good interview about his thesis with Abby Martin for those short on time.

A quote from Billy Madison perfectly sums up this content: "At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
