If my theory about the character designs being determined by past identities, would that mean she was Kinger’s wife, or perhaps sister? Is that the real reason he lost it-he had to watch someone so close to him Abstract?) My second theory about the Kinger/Queen piece thing is that maybe when a new character is too similar to an old one, the old one automatically gets abstracted. My only reasoning for this theory is that one, Kinger is here and there was previously another chess piece who abstracted and two, Pomni is a clown and Kaufmo abstracted the DAY she arrived. If Jax has somehow figured this out it could explain why he seems to have it out for Pomni specifically in this episode, and why he seemed so unsurprised in the pilot.

However, humans being perpetually trapped within the Circus is most likely a situation he wasn't programmed to handle, given that he is unable to provide a means for people to exit the Circus. The fact that he can't keep people from eventually abstracting is something Caine could be viewing as him failing his primary protocol and might be constantly bothering him even though he probably isn't even programmed to properly express such emotions.

He doesn't seem to possess knowledge of how they arrive, just that he needs to keep them stimulated & entertain some ambiguous "crowd" in the process. Everything he does is for the sake of the humans in his care, since leaving them to their own devices is much more likely to cause abstraction at a faster rate. He cannot abstract, it's literally impossible. He's been here from the beginning, & Kinger wasn't the first to arrive, just that he's been here for the longest out of the current group.

To mourn, to cope out with a loss, to help each other with dealing with death, to lament, to let out your emotions, your frustration of a fact that you can't do anything to prevent it. To remember the fallen, to honor them and, of course, to remind yourself about one crucial thing about life: memento mori.

For Ragitha thats a cohesive story or narrative to follow she likes following adventures. To kinger and Gangle that is just hanging around the main group to keep them sane. To Pomni that is the existential questions pondered about her digital existence (is there an exit? How does the world get set up by Cane and how do the NPC's feel?) It's all gonna be dust in a few centuries anyways. All that even possibly CAN matter when everything fades, is the moment; the experiences you CAN have along the way! So enjoy it! Love every moment of the taste of chocolate, the accomplishment of a job well done! And when life sucks? It'll all be over soon anyways. Nihilism is SO freeing when you have a little optimism. I usually don’t use the term optimistic nihilism because it just feels like pointlessly mischaracterizing nihilism to be more positive when it doesn’t really fit the intended meaning and there are far better alternatives. Generally absurdism or existentialism are just better to use as they’re more built around the optimistic angle and don’t have as many negative connotations around them. There is some slight difference between the three but they essentially come to the same conclusion through three different means: meaningless of the universe, absurdity of the universe, and reason for existence respectively. This was a very Nice Continuation, very entertaining, I really liked how the Purple Gator referenced Pizza Tower, didn’t expect that. Anyway, about the Episode itself, I’d say having this Episode take place just the Day after the Pilot is pretty fair, since, assuming that they do Adventures every Day, this would be Pomni’s Actual First Adventure, since she didn’t actually partake in the one meant for her when she first arrived, even though like i said she was only part of it halfway, Also, it also made the Funeral Scene at the end feel more fitting, by the way about that Scene, I find it very interesting that Jax ended up not being part of the Funeral and who he was not featured amongst the Hands that prevented Pomni’s Metaphorical Fall, now that part could just be due to him not being part of the Funeral, but considering what the Curators has said about Jax, i think it’s a detail that’s worth keeping in mind for the Future. Anyway, with all of that now being out of the way, i am now left wondering: Will every Episode take place just the Day after the Previous One or could we expect Episodes to have at least a couple of Days in between them from now on? Will Pomni get out of the Adventure and into some kind of Out of bounds moment every Episode? If so, while that would be interesting, I would appreciate to see at least one Episode where Pomni stays in the Adventure all the way through, because I don’t think we need a Out-of-Bounds Moment every time to make a Episode worthwhile. On to of that, will Pomni bond with more NPCs in one way or another and will she end up having them learn something about themselves too? I also wonder if we’ll ever get to see Loo and Gummigoo again? Now, I am aware that the Candy Canyon Kingdom was probably just meant to be for this Episode, hence why it was sent off the way it did, still I would like to see some kind of Aftermath to what Jax did. Also, i wonder if we’ll ever get to a point in time where Pomni won’t stutter all the time or at least not when it counts? If so, i will look forward to see what might lead us there. Anyway, regardless of it all, this Episode has made me even more excited to see how this Show will play out, I can’t wait for more Episodes. What do any of you expect to see next?

44:27 it's a running gag in the 3D animation\modelling\CGI, basically, this teapot won a big competition as the best asset in the early time of 3D modelling, and the idea of a teapot so simple wining was a bit funny, so it became a sort of meme in the community. nowadays, many 3d software let you choose to spawn it in a list of nothing but basic shapes like spheres, cubes, cones, etc. it sticks out like a sore thumb, which is how even new people in the 3D community look it up and adopt the meme... like the chat said, it's called the utah teapot, but also the Newell teapot, and sometime juste the teapot

This episode reminds me of Yahtzee Crowshaw’s book “Mogworld” about the NPCs of an in-development MMO gaining sentience. iirc it has a scene where the main character finds himself in the asset room with a bunch of T-posing NPCs, much like Gummigoo. It’s a good read.

44:34 There are a few possible references here. The most direct one is the "Newell Teapot," the 3D modeling equivalent of a "Hello World!" program created by Martin Newell. That is the specific model being used. Secondly, it could be referencing "Russel's Teapot." Which is a burden of proof argument against supernatural and religious claims. "Astrology is real!" "Yeah, and there is a random and naturally forming teapot orbiting the sun." The joke/reference potentially being "Well the teapots are there and God made them."

Fun fact, in 3D animation, there is a default teapot in Maya. Yes. It's the EXACT same glossy teapot in the show. It's pretty much a throw back to every single 3D asset artist out there. My soul left my body and went back to my college days every time I saw the teapot. Cause it's extremely common to get familiar with the 3D Maya software thro the teapot.

The teapots are an in-joke amongst 3D animators, they were one of the first things to be created in a 3D modelling program.

I've had a theory going around in my head that Jax is purposely being a jerk to everyone to break off any possibility of having connections with people, whether it's a result of him losing someone he actually cared about before or just because this world isn't real so why would making friends matter, idk. It's just something that always comes to my mind with characters like that. BUT THAT'S JUST A THEORY loved this episode

One small detail I liked was this episode showing some of Zooble's softer side. At first it seems like Zooble just didn't want to go on the new adventure out of apathy, but since the crew came back to Kaufmo's funeral being ready, we see that Zooble really sat out on the adventure to set up for that. Felt that they should mourn their passed friend, and that another pointless adventure wasn't worth delaying the funeral further. A moment not without prior setup, either; since Zooble had the most personal reaction of the crew to Kaufmo's abstraction ("Man... I can't believe Kaufmo just gave up like that.").

Fun fact: Avengers Endgame had broke records during is opening weekend (2 days) by having 30-35 million people in north america buying tickets, and an estimated 100 million people world wide watching. Marvel had been building up the MCU for over a decade at that point (if you include the 2003 hulk movie). This web series who's pilot released 6 months ago got 30 million views in 1 day.

Counterpoint: Marvel made a 3 hour movie you had to pay for, drive to, and watch the entirety of in one sitting. Glitch here made a 25 minute episode that anyone can watch for free anywhere, any number of times. I don't mean to imply ADC views are inflated, but it has a much lower barrier of entry.
