I like to think that this is meant as a prequel to the series. Like maybe the AI is implanted with human memories later when Cain gets his powers.

I always imagined Carnival Kinger would sound more posh. Being actual royalty and all.

This dub made me realize what bubbles cadence reminds me of. Infected gem tree trunks from an old episode of adventure time, it's a relief to finally figure that out it's been nagging at me. Anyways. I wasn't aware that the artist had actually made an intro comic for this au,. I discovered them through other drawings. Thank you for your hard work on this, it was a delight

Ok so what I can see of happening is Caine is a human with his best friend bubble gum and needs to complete the game to actually escape and all the AI in the game are actually placeholders for humans to possess when they play the game which changes there personality too
