The Aluula Kites Breakthrough | Who Should Make the Switch?

Спорт

Hello, kiteboarding enthusiasts! It's Dustin and Pat here, bringing you the latest scoop on Aluula kites. Today, we're delving into the exciting world of this game-changing equipment in kiteboarding. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a curious newbie, this post is for you!
Aluula Kites: The Carbon Fiber of Kiteboarding
Think of Aluula as the carbon fiber frame mountain bike in the kiteboarding world. These kites represent a significant step up from your standard models. Just like a high-end bike, Aluula kites offer enhanced performance and benefits that justify their premium status.
Performance Benefits: A Closer Look
1. Wind Range Expansion: One of the most impressive features of the Aluula is its ability to perform in a broader range of wind conditions. Last summer, I (Dustin) reduced my kite quiver from four to two, thanks to the Aluula's versatility.
2. High-End Stability and Power: These kites maintain stability and generate power even in lighter wind conditions, making them ideal for both high and low-end performance.
3. Rigidity and Shape Retention: In gusty conditions, traditional kites tend to flex and lose shape. The Aluula's rigid frame combats this, maintaining its shape even in challenging winds.
4. Increased Reactivity: With the ability to be pumped to higher PSI levels, the Aluula responds more swiftly, offering a dynamic kiteboarding experience.
The Practicalities: Size, Packability, and Travel
Aluula kites are not only about performance; they also excel in practical aspects:
- Compact Size: These kites can be packed into surprisingly small sizes, making them travel-friendly.
- Weight Reduction: Lighter than traditional kites, they help you stay within airline weight limits.
- Quiver Reduction: The versatility means you can travel with fewer kites, simplifying your gear.
Cost Considerations
Yes, Aluula kites are an investment. A 12m Aluula kite may cost around 30% more than its standard counterpart. However, the cost balances out considering the savings in travel and the need for fewer kites.
Who is it For?
Aluula kites aren't for everyone. They are best suited for those who aren't strictly budget-minded and are looking for an upgrade in their kiteboarding experience. The price might be steep, but the performance and practical benefits are undeniable.
Conclusion
In summary, Aluula kites are revolutionizing the kiteboarding world, much like carbon fiber did for biking. They offer a combination of performance, convenience, and versatility that's hard to beat. If you're in the market for an upgrade and willing to invest, Aluula could be the way to go.

You're right, the impact of large-size kites, especially those made with advanced materials like Aluula, can be significant for kiteboarders at all skill levels, from beginners to pros. Their ability to float and relaunch effortlessly is a game-changer. Additionally, their lower-end performance - the ability to perform well in lighter winds - is a huge advantage, allowing for more versatility and opportunities to enjoy the sport under a wider range of conditions. It's these kinds of features that can really enhance the overall kiteboarding experience-if it's in your budget. Good winds! -Aaron

@@MACkiteboarding I can only really speak for high end as I never really go out under powered, Aluula is absolutely superb in holding the shape when powered up, much more reactive, so much faster to steering input, loops and catches super quick, Gusts you just don’t feel, I been Tarifa 3 times since getting them and tarifa is know for being super gusty, also was in Denmark where people were coming in saying it was just too gusty to ride, I’m still to find the top end limit for my 8m and I been out in all the autumn storms this year,

No question. The aluula kite is awesome .when someone can afford them it is 100 % worth it. I always had F one Bandit . 8/10/12 and 15 . Always good until I tried d lab …. I put my 15m breeze F one down and got an 13m evo. This kite was easy to handle , more speed then with my 15 , and main thing for me, close to no bar pressure …. Gusts are not noticeable ….. only thing that the evo was not fast enough ,,,, that’s why I bought a 15 juice and a 12 Neo and a 9 Neo. Normally it would be enough to have to d labs , 15 and 10 . But I had several surgery’s and issues with elbow , shoulder and knee … that’s why I like to kite in the comfort zone only. The 9 I take from 18knots up, the 12 from 14 knots up and the 15 from 10 knots up . I highly can recommend the d lab kites. After talking to the pros I put 8 psi in , not 7. we got 30 % off and for a demo 50 % _ and the bill to our company, means not tax, in Germany 19 % that’s why I have 3 d lab kites

It is like a carbon mast with g10 plastic wings on a foil. What I do with the expensive aluula frame if the sail is not UV proof and break after 1 year? If the sail is also dyneema or any better laminate maybe it is worth it.

Aluula is good in all ways - but I sincerely hope, that competition will drive prices down to 20% more than normal material. As of now paying 50% more for 30% gain - I wuch better like the idea of paying 20% - 30% more for a 30% gain 😅

I’m 210lbs, my previous quiver was 7, 9, 11, 13.5m core xr7 Current quiver is 8, 10m xr pro and 13.5m xr8, So basically I cut out one kite, much better for travelling abroad and on the water the Aluula is absolutely fantastic, definitely not just sales talk, don’t try one if you can’t afford one. 90% of the time I will be on my 8 or 10m, the 13.5m is just for emergency in case the wind drops too much.

I live in Cape Town a beautiful city in a third world shithole where the economy is iffy. In summer we have literally hundreds of kites up when conditions are good because of kiting tourists soon as they leave you literally have spots to yourself South Africans can't afford kiting as it is, Aluula has no place here.
