The Alpine Loop - Animas Forks, Engineer Pass, Lake City, and Cinnamon Pass

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We went on an epic adventure through the stunning Alpine Loop Scenic Byway in Colorado! This 60-mile network of old mining roads connects some of the most breathtaking scenery in the state including high-elevation passes and ghost towns. In this video, we hope to show you some of the highlights of this challenging but rewarding route, including:
Animas Forks: A historic town that was once home to over 450 people at an altitude of 11,300 feet. Learn about its history as a silver mining camp and its tragic fate during a massive avalanche in 18851.
Engineer Pass: The highest point on the Alpine Loop at 12,800 feet. Enjoy panoramic views of the San Juan Mountains and Lake City from this rough and winding road that was built by a Civil War engineer Otto Mears.
Cinnamon Pass: A scenic drive back to Animas Forks from Lake City. Generally considered milder than Engineer Pass, Cinnamon Pass offers its own unique experience that includes a lake side drive, more mining ruins, and a beautiful country side.
The Alpine Loop takes all day, but the drive is well worth it. We hope you enjoy this journey just as much as we did!

We’ve been over this loop many many times in the last 4 years in our rubicon, but always nice to see it a different perspective, really enjoyed your video and especially the drone footage. I sent my drone up once around Odom point, I call that the “top of the world” 🙂 keep up the great videos. 👍🏼

Informative with excellent graphics showing the routes, but not forgetting to include a little fun and good ribbing ! As a longtime CO resident there are still soo many places to explore here. Its history and all the little untold stories are always intriguing. Thanks guys for keeping the videos real ! See you 'out there' someday

I have traveled this loop, and it is amazing and one of my favorite places in the country. I love that you included history and not just the pictures. Great job.
