Many ppl aren't getting this concept it seems... Yes, there are E-bikes that are cheaper and pedal assisted with longer range, they know that. The point of this foldable last-mile E-scooter is you can carry it into ur apt, office, subways and buses literally like a suitcase. Rental e-bikes and return stations aren't always available.

It should only be $1,070 after tax for me if dealers dont pull some kind of mark up b.s. I want one only cause work for me is a total of 9miles there and back home and can chill at the desk getting charged. Plus I trust Honda over all these electric bike companies.

get an ebike, 15 mph and 12 miles of range is laughable. An class 3 ebike can go up to 28 mph and have a lot more range since you can pedal it like regular bike, even with throttle only, most ebikes can go up to 30 miles of range for the most part.

@@blackwhirlwind1245 Uhhh can't in MS. Anything that can do 25mph or high must have a license, tag, and insurance. And those ebikes you speak of is in the $2k to $3k price range that is seriously the price range of a new Honda Ruckus and new/used Honda Grom. Ridiculous to buy those ebikes you speak of and not a ruckus.

@@USMCbrantley there are $1000 e-bikes, if you don’t want to go 25 mph, a lot of e-bikes can set it to 20 mph, which is still better than 15 mph, e-bikes can carry cargo, passengers, and it has a lot more range, even when battery run out, you can still ride it like a regular bicycle.

It's the fact that my state laws says anything that can reach a speed of 25mph or high cant be on sidewalks and must have a DL, tag, and insurance to be ridden/driven. Some of the ebikes that I look into and like are in the same price range as both a new/used Honda Ruckus and Honda Grom. Both of those only take 1gal of gas and gets an avg of 100miles. Not only that but I know from owning and doing light mods on a Ruckus it was hitting 50mph easily and i know from riding my friends Grom with a Yoshi exhaust it hits 70mph easily. This Honda Ebike is actually perfect because I only live 5 miles from work. I can ride it on the side of road and side walks without the road pirates bugging me, and the fact it folds up like a suitcase/medium size travel bag I can easily slide it under my desk without getting in the way of my leg room or other people's walk ways. Plus I already own a car to do everything you listed (cargo, carry passengers, and a 500 mile range on a full tank of gas) Not only that but theres the brand quality of trust. I trust a Honda made battery over these ebike companies. Honda been making battery powered vehicles longer then these ebike companies.

I just place my order make sure you shop around dealers have different mark up, one Acura marked up at 2100 I tried one Honda $1200 finally I found a Acura at sticker price 👍🏼

I just got one and all I got to say it put a smile on my face! I'm enjoying this and my Honda S2000!

So we got the Motocompo back after, like, thirty years, but what about the Honda City? Can we get that, especially in the US? The OG combo of car and bike needs to make a comeback!

I kinda like the Idea of this. Its hard to just be able to carry a bike or scooter in your home and it not be combersome or unsightly. The Compacto just slides into any corner you have space.

The Motocompo needs to also double as an extra battery for any Honda EV... sliding in/out... being charged by or extending the range of the host EV.

just get an electric wheel. the fastest, biggest ones currently available are master pro and v13, and are literally smaller than that thing but prob twice the weight, and 5x the speed (i'm assuming 55 lbs), where you could carry this thing while riding that (if you got the balance heh)

E-scooters suck to ride on pothole riddled roads (like 95% of US roads), and 99% of America has no nice and smooth bike lane or even just a sidewalk for this. This will suck with the no suspension it has. Make a nice foldable e-bike or something instead. I was considering buying this but I took a look at the roads around my destinations and apartment and immediately went nope; riding a bike is already a stupidly bumpy ride with suspension and big tires. Biking over the messed up manhole covers at night rock my brain and riding an e-scooter w/o suspension over one would probably give me a concussion. This should honestly have only been released in Europe and East Asia but instead it's a US-exclusive. Funny how all the first looks I have seen on KZread have been restricted to a nice and smooth Honda office parking lot.

I rode one last night and while fun, you do feel every bump or imperfection in the road as a result of no suspension. You have to keep in mind this is from a country which relies heavily on public transportation. This is more of a last leg to the office vehicle.

Doesn’t make sense to me. There are plenty of lightweight scooters that are as compact or more than this and outperform it spec wise, for less money. Anybody can be riding one of those immediately. If you’re not limited in your physical mobility, an electric unicycle accomplishes what this is going for much better. For less than this, I got an EUC that goes 22 mph for 25-30 miles, at that speed and me being 215 pounds. It weighs 30 pounds and is much physically smaller than this, extending the handle to trolley it around takes two seconds and I can pick it up in less than that if I want to just carry it up stairs or something. I have ridden it thousands of miles and never crashed. It had a learning curve, but once you get it, it really is like riding a bike (which also has a learning curve, you just did it as a child so you don’t remember).

Do you need a drivers license for it?

Depends in your state laws. In MS the current law says anything that goes past 25mph requires a DL, Insurance, and Tag. It use to be in MS anything that was 50cc and above needed all that but the Honda Ruckus took off in popularity too fast (the motor was a 49cc)

Depends on the jurisdiction. Where I am, in the UK, there's no way to legally ride it in public, regardless of what licence you may have, unless it was part of an authorised rental scheme.

I rode this at the Chicago Auto Show and immediately bought an electric kick scooter. Motocompacto is the most ridiculous design I could imagine for this application. Not only that, the kick scooter is already perfected. Many kick scooter models are in their fourth generation. What a waste!
