Drove one last week, only one in my area that had just arrived. It was base model with all wheel drive. Loved it, amazing to drive and a lot of features for the base model.

I am so glad you were able to do an in depth review on this new Tucson, as I’ve been on the hunt for any new videos for the US launch. Really great content that’s compelled me to subscribe. :D

Great video Austin. We just bought the 2022 Tucson Limited yesterday. We were the first to see it Friday night when it arrived at the dealer and made our purchase yesterday morning. Amazing vehicle, great ride, and truly an engineering marvel. We still have lots to learn about the various features, but that will be fun. We're in our 60s and feel this car is great for all ages. We also have the FWD model so we can occasionally pull it on our tow dolly behind our motor home.

For what it's worth. When Hyundai first came to the U.S. their tagline was, "Hyundai! Rhymes with Sunday!" So there you go.

"Hyundai" is actually 3 syllables. Koreans pronounce it the way it's spelled. Cheasy advertising Agencies thought "Rhymes with Sunday" BS would be a catchy way for dimwitted Americans to remember the name.

​@@bruschmidt9943 It's actually still only 2 syllables in Korean. 현대. Hyun-dai. You pronounce the "y" like in "yard," "un" as in "under" and the "ai" makes a more pure "e" sound like in Spanish (grande, puente, etc).

THANKS FOR MENTIONING THE TRIM 🙌

I applaud you for holding your phone horizontally for 16:9 aspect when recording this video. Most people don't know how to properly orient their phone when recording video and you end up with vertical bars on the sides of the video when viewing on the screen. So great job.

The Rav4 is superior is it not

I sat in the SEL model yesterday which was a pleasant experience as it was nicely equipped for about $32,000. Although it didn't feature leather it would be nice if it has synthetic leather rather than black cloth. Fit and finish was spot on, yet the CX-5 for the same money was a notch up and with leather. I did like the long sunroof, flat LED spedo and simple push button transmission features. I would really need to drive it for final judgement.

I don't like the new spoke design on the steering wheel but over all the it looks great

The centre stack isn't Haptic Feedback, Haptic Feedback is when you touch the button and it has a little vibration, or some type of physical feedback to your finger to indicate that you touched the button and it worked. This SUV does not do that, it only has the noise when you press a button. What you should have said is that it has capacitive touch. Which means there is no physical button but the console recognizes the finger on the smooth surface and triggers the button action. Just saying, the terminology means different things. One example of both is the last generation Cadillac CTS had both capacitive touch and haptic feedback when you touched the center stack buttons. Which means there were no physical buttons and there was a little vibration felt through the finger when you put your finger on a botton spot.

Is there an way to see a digital readout of your speed, instead of just the analog speedometer on the screen?

Hate it or love it styling but the HGK group is definitely putting out uniquely styled autos and that’s a 🏆 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ..and thanks for featuring a car with a light colored interior Austin ! All black interiors are sooo drab 🥴🥴

Bought a 2022 TUCSON Limited three months ago and love it. Technology is awesome and has more features than a luxury car. Yes sometimes it could use a little more power but overall it’s comfortable and economically great. Never thought I’d ever buy a Hyundai but here we are a Hyundai owner

thanks for the review! I test drove today and I really like it. I was in love with the Mazda CX5 and wanted to love the vehicle but didn't like the drive. The 2wd on the Tucson is perfect. The AWD makes me work too hard to drive the car lol. Ive been driving a 2010 dodge avenger for 10 years so SUV will be something different for me.

What is ground clearance? I like to ride ‘high’!

Make the Android auto wireless on the 10.25" screen. It is crazy you can only get that on the lower end trim lines with an 8" screen.

Nice Nate, ordered mine back in November, price unknown lol! It’ll be delivered next month, it’s gotta get shipped to Indiana. Amazon Grey, grey leather interior...it was so nice when I ordered it to ask where the options were able to be selected and the dealer to advise me that the Limited automatically comes with every option lol!

I concur. I wish they had left a couple of knobs. Tactile feedback may distract you from the road ahead. I would like to know if the Tucson SEL CONVENIENCE is the same as just plain SEL. I was saying it’ll blow the Rav4 out of the water! I haven’t driven a Prime model, but I’ve been inside the Rav4 plenty and it feels far cheaper than the Tucson.

Don't you just wish those boring designers at Lexus can abandon their tired styling of the Rx 350 and do something like this, for crying out loud this is beautiful.

I bought a Limited 2020 Forester, which is a nice vehicle indeed. Several months ago I saw this newly redesigned Tucson. I absolutely love this more. It's a shame I didn't see this before my purchase because if I would trade for this I would lose too much money! 🤔

Just wait until they have more rebates! I understand the frustration.

I'm waiting for the hybrid model, 1.6 liter turbo hybrid, to do my part for the environment, plus it's supposed to get over 35 mpg and I've heard that with the electric assist of the hybrid, 0 - 60mph is supposed to be in the high 7's. Pretty good .

The review is pretty accurate..a very pretty car... I'm from UK so not sure if exact same spec but just had use of 2021 hybrid and I found it to be a very very thirsty car... think I managed to scrape around 27mpg whilst I had it😏

The lower trim, which has the 8 inch display, actually comes with a volume physical lever AND wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. I'd definitely prefer that over the Limited trim 😅

@@benjaminnhlam2867 nah I'd like the have the bigger screen and the all the features like blindspot camera, 360 camera, memory seats, navigation, highway driving assist, projector headlight and more. Limited trim is the way to go for me. It's just missing a HUD.

They did put a turbocharged on Tucson Nline.

I'm sure it drives well. My issues are the exterior lines. Not even parallel and will not likely age well. And as others have pointed out, the dust magnet and lack of physical buttons are a significant turn off. I have a touch screen now and HATE it.

People are soooo tired of all the gloss black trim in the interior. It's way overdone. It scratches, smudges, fingerprints, collects dust way too quick. Come up with a better alternative.

i agree with you about the 2.0 turbo which they have in Santa Fe or even offer the, 1.6 200+horsepower version they use in other cars.

I haven’t heard of a CVT. The previous gen had a dual clutch transmission.

I drove the FWD Limited last week. I want the AWD.

I agree, that's a nice rearend...haha! I decided to go with the Santa Fe, but still love what I've seen of this new Tucson.

Limited trims are all configured the same, its just the interior and exterior that are different as well as AWD or FWD

I am going to buy one, as doon as they are AVAILABLE.

Great review! I can't wait to test drive one of these, as I'm looking for a new SUV for my wife....I love the beginning of the video...looks like you were keeping an eye on the car as it rolled towards you just in case it came to close to your foot...lol

Only the limited trim will get nav. No more ultimate trim. SE, SEL, N Line and Limited are the trims for 2022

Nice review. I must say, I like my 2021 model better. Glad I got the previous generation.

Nice to see the infotainment screen built into the dash and not tacked on to the to of the dash. Never liked the tacked on look.

90% of hyundai/Kia products come with spare tires, unless specifically ordered with the tire mobility kit.

I've had a good few hours in the 1.6T Hybrid here in the UK, and it's a huge improvement over my 2017 Tucson 1.7 diesel Sport Edition (which also has power mirrors, heated (but not ventilated) seats. The new hybrid is considerably faster than my Sport with around 90BHP more at around 240BHP with 0-60MPH in about 8 seconds. Handling is about the same, which on my Sport I really can't fault, as it has such a level ride, if a little harsh at times on the 245-45/19 wheels & tyres. The new Tucson is a smoother ride though for sure. The Hyundai Tucson is a very popular model here in the UK, and I can see the new Hybrid being very popular too, as one of the biggest gripes about my 1.7 diesel, is the poor fuel economy at around 28-40mpg. On the Hybrid, it didn't go below 42mpg and I gave it a bit of a pasting at times :)

Depends on what’s important to you. If you want size and towing, then go to the Palisade!

Just bought the SEL trim model. I drove the SUVs rated above it, Toyota, Honda, Mazda with similar trim, and is spanked all three. Don't know who the "reviews" are for the other brands, probably people paid to spit out reviews all day long. Go drive a Tucson, you will see for yourself.
