The Alexander Mackenzie Trail | Part 1
In 1793, Alexander Mackenzie and his team of 9 men traveled from the Fraser River to the Pacific Ocean via an overland route he learned from the local natives. Today, that route still exists, but is difficult and wildly overgrown. We took our built Jeep Gladiator, a couple Land Cruisers, a Wrangler, and an old Bronco to take on the challenge.

Its also not constant product placement which is a welcome relief. Ive started falling out of my fandom for a certain Australian 4wd show because it is now 70% product placement and 30% driving.
Nice to see a ford bronco in the mix.

Well done guys. Kim, you give all the old retired people hope for a fruitful life into they’re dotage... I mean, if *you* can do it... Thanks for all the effort Shaun.
Wow, I have seen a couple videos of this trail I am not sure I would want to do it but glad to see people out there trying to keep it open.
The quality to your videos is top notch. The added drone footage of the area around you just adds to the beauty! Keep the quality coming!!!
Well done! 👏🏻 I can’t wait to see what you share in the other parts of the series!!
Beautiful Documentary. Thanks for sharing such a magnificent trail and history.
Your video footage and Drone footage is the best. keep it up man . Love your videos.

Loving this adventure, glad I found your channel!!!
Brilliant camera work and editing! Haven't seen a video this good in a while!
Beautiful country treated with respect. Great video. Can't wait to watch more. Thank you.
This brings back so many memories of our trip a few years back! 6 vehicles = 7 people - 6 guys (one with a broken arm and only three of the guys knew each other, the rest all strangers) and a lone female, and said female would love to do this trip again!
Awesome as always. Looking forward to next week!
It was great to watch you guys cross during the day from the other side. Would have been awesome if you guys had crossed with us the night before. We were definitely the first this year as the cutting on the other side was relentless at night.

Yeah I wanted to cross at night for the fun, but ultimately we decided to wait for daylight for better footage. That whole section before the river and after the river definitely hasn't been driven this year. We found a cabin up by Kluskoil with a logbook, and the guy said on the 17th of Aug he went in from the same point as us and spent 9 hours sawing to get to Kluskoil. Bless that man.

Wow man. You did it AGAIN! Having watched the XO series on this trail about a dozen times I was super pumped to see you doing one. This video was fantastic and I am looking forward to the next part. Thank you for inspiring us all to get out there and explore AND shoot video. The fact that you do this all without a dedicated film crew is awesome and gives me hope I can put something together soon. 👍
I miss living out in that country. Hope to go back next year. So much to see and explore
Top quality production, like the usual. Watching this on my TV is liking watching a Netflix show or documentary
Man I have watched countless off-road/outdoors/ videos and I have to say this mini series was nothing short of amazing! You did an awesome job of capturing the beauty and magnitude of our great country👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼

This looks mad fun. U guys are inspiring!
Haha, I just got back from wheelin and salmon fishing Bella Coola this long weekend. While I was there, I was wondering when Shaun would do the Alexander Mackenzie trail 🤣
I like the shot quality and production level...feels much like X-Overland...but they got kinda big time and just, idk...feel like they lost connection. Viewers all demanded more "local" coverage of US based locations and trails, but they felt it just didn't align with their goals. A channel like this could easily fill that void and meet demand.
Your channel has some of the best off-road content on KZread. Throw in the movie like filming and editing and you have something special.
