I so enjoyed this local rail line video that I just watched it a second time. The P&W/W&P locos look so good, unlike their G&W graffitied up sisters of the San Joaquin Valley Railroad.

The bridge shot with the track underneath it along a street is nice. We don't see many tracks running along streets anymore in my area back east.

The old SP chip cars used to see 6 to 8 filled a days at Weyerhaeuser at Cottage Grove. Then the chip cars were loaded just to the south of Dugan RD/LN which is north of all the workings now. It was fun seeing all the Lam Beams that came out of Lam plant. Some were 60 to 70 feetlong and curved.

Thanks for another great video with good information about what is going on. Curious why one locomotive has be the the leader over the other end, i.e., the reason for turning the consist on the "Y"? Looking forward to the rest of the Albany series.

Good question! I don’t know why they weren’t able to have the other one as a leader.

As usual, Jeremy, great videography and commentary! I love learning new stuff. Speaking of learning stuff, here's a question for ya; why did the 2307 need to be leading? I would've guessed the lashup to be equally effective headed either direction.

I’m not sure why it needed to be reversed. Something must have made the other motor non-compliant in some way.
