The Alan Moore Lecture 2013 in Full
Alan Moore visited Northampton College to read an extract from his book, 'The Mirror of Love' marking an inspiring end to a variety of activities and events that took place throughout February to celebrate LGBT History Month. Alan then gave an exclusive interview to students and some fantastic advice and personal insights on what it takes to be a writer.

Alan Moore is a goddamn treasure. Not only is he a genius, but he's also one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

+Curt Baboon well said. i hope i get the pleasure to meet the man some day.
that man is the very best of all of us
my name is Alan Brian Moore, and I am hoping to write fantasy. I find it ironic that I should share a name with somebody who has the same interests as me. If I get published I will have to sign my work A B Moore, can't have two Alan Moore's will lead to confusion
In the discussion about fundamentalism and nationalism, Moore hit the nail on the head when he quoted HP Lovecraft: "It is the greatest mercy that humankind cannot connect up all its diverse bits of information, but a day is coming when we will, and the question is whether we will embrace that light, or run from it into the sheltering shadows of a new dark age".
It's amazing to understand the mindset behind Alan Moore's genius literature. I wish he did more lectures like this. I would certainly attend them. He's an inspirational teacher.
I saw him in person when he came to give a book reading in Leicester. He's certainly very personable and a great speaker.
This is amazing -- I never would have expected a lecture from Alan Moore about this subject.

+Crispy Walker i'm sure he could do a lecture on a whole litany of subjects.
Alright, who gave this a thumbs down? Identify yourself!
Just happened to stumble across this now. Was a brilliant lecture and I'm pleased to be able to watch this again. :) One of the highlights of my time at Northampton College!
Alan Moore is one of the unacknowledged literary heroes of this age. Can't wait for Jerusalem.
Wish I had a family member like him, my whole family are so closed minded and still full of fear and hate.
It's people like this man who have the courage to stand up and say 'there's something wrong with the world.' Not even just saying something, doing something to back up their claims. And most importantly, doing it in their own way; unrestricted, not influenced by common sauces, just trying to get a point across. The world needs more outsiders like Alan Moore.
Brilliant and daring. These are FE students having an HE lecture. Well done Northampton College.
this is why the internet is great :-)
