Mat Manning is back on another rat-infested farm, which provides the perfect opportunity to put the InfiRay Tube TD50L Digital Day and Night Vision Scope through its paces. Paired with the Brocock Concept XR, it proves to be a winning combination as the rats come thick and fast after darkness closes in.
Also in this week’s episode, Mat Manning takes a look at the BSA Defiant bullpup. This super-compact airgun combines consistent power delivery and a great barrel with comfortable gun fit and an impressive trigger to create a very capable shooting machine.

Another fine session on the rats. Thank you!!. From watching this I can see that for my personal preference I'd have a gun with the cocking lever on the left side, or the off hand side as there seemed to be a not insignificant amount of faffing about with the ballet of hands changing to cock that one. Well then ...... I've learned something for myself then. You do a marvelous job with these videos, and dispatching the rats. Thank you again!

@@mikew1800 That means your trigger hand has to leave one position and move to another and back ....... I have both left and right hand cocking PCP air rifles, and as a right handed shooter I prefer the left cocking lever ones for faster follow up shots.

Thanks for sharing a great session on the rats Mat. :) Shame about the regular pixellation and interference on the Infiray Tube's recorded footage, but I assume the image you saw through the eyepiece was better/clearer than that? Good to see you using the excellent Huggett moderator and Fenix HM65R Shadowmaster headtorch though, I never go shooting at night without mine. Nice to see you at the Shooting Show a fortnight ago too, all the best, cheers. Russ

I would hope that your viewing through the scope was better than the recorded image. I was surprised by the poor focusing, the pixelation and interference, there was also noticeable lag in the image. Hopefully the firmware update will sort these issues, as it stands I certainly wouldn't buy one, would be good to see a follow up after the update. Is there a choice of reticules, when needing hold over/under a graduated reticule is more user friendly? Great shooting as always and an informative review.👍

I assume that you are using lead pellets yes? If so, is there no concern of lead poising to the chickens or their eggs? I am planning to put my pellet gun to use on other people's land, but have some concerns about it. I bought some lead free pellets but they are aluminum, and that is an abrasive, so it would have wear issues on the barrel.

Nice ratting, and a solid technique. Sadly the BSA lost me with that ergonomic nightmaresafety location. An ambidextrous military style thumb operated safety next to the trigger is a no brainer. Which hand are they expecting it to be operated with??? Was it designed by someone with unconventional pronouns and an equal opportunity ticket? Reminds me of the mag release on the early SA80s. 👀🧐😎😜
