The other excavator can't stop holding the other bucket so they obviously can't be dropping solid material in under the sinking excavator. If the sinking excavator could push down into the mud and lift that end up, the rescue excavator would have a mighty difficult time clearing the mud out . Even if they did have a long enough boom. It would probably fill in with surrounding mud for quite a while meaning they'd need a really big hole. Filling it in with something more solid would still be quite the challenge, assuming they even had the solid material available to begin with. There's probably some environmental laws they'd run afoul of as well. They're probably in the best position they can be with the equipment they have assuming they don't have other equipment avaliable to help out.

He just need to spin the bucket around n push against the ground behind him.. stabilize himself n the other guy could grab a chain or sumthing to pull the excavator out… one thing he’s doing wrong is continuously rolling the caterpillar, he’s breaking the ground beneath him, making him sink faster…

He's not trying to dig he's trying to hold the other bucket of the stuck excavator so it can pull itself up

The excavator helping the one stuck, needs to interlock buckets and slowly back track. The one stuck needs to take it out of high gear and creep out while giving the boom all the hydraulics it can , to work it's way out! By digging his bucket into the levy, he jeopardizes the integrity of the material and the water surrounding it will sink it!

Needs to slow track speed down to just moving . Giving full track power is taking power away from dipper ram , and best to start at full reach , bury bucket then give full arm power and just engage tracks so the just moving and as it moves forward adjust boom , still keeping arm power full on and it would pop out from there

True this right here backwards to go forwards , he could extend the arm a little so his whole tracks are level with the ground with it bent like that he’s elevating lifting part of the tracks off the ground losing out on traction and just digging the hole out deeper.

I think it would be better to drag it with heavy equipment. However, it should be pulled out in a large form among heavy equipment.

Simple: Don't need extra excavator. Just spin it around and push the bucket down behind it and push yourself out.

With the entire surface area of the tracks, it still sank under the weight, how would a smaller surface area on softer ground be able to lift it up? That’s just not gonna work

You can't take any more out, it will just sink more. The one in the hole should slow the track down and wiggle side to side. The other one is fine like it is.

What they’re doing is very smart and his how I would’ve approached the situation

As a heavy equipment operator. I see one way out, and thats locking together and pull them out.

Only my opinion placing the bucket off the stock excavator at the roof level it would place it at a tilt level forward leveraging -up from the rear n out with the help off the one outher Excavator helping

Так они тут сговориться не могут что ли? Тут два варианта - тот кто на берегу упереться ковшом в землю, а тонущему зацепиться ковшом за ковш сложить стрелу. Или второй вариант - зацепиться ковшами и тому кто на суше тянуть назад.

Maybe the underwater muck behind him is not stable enough to push against. The muck in front of him certainly isn't.

I am a heavy equipment operator. They should hook bucket to bucket, and other Esquerita pull back where the other one rears up and come forward.

Your dedication is inspiring.

In situation like this, you need to firstly dig the mud in between the trucks and make sure you to dig the mud under the stucking truck before you give him a bucket to pull it out.

If you dig it out you risk sinking it deeper, they are doing it somewhat correct, should be full throttle, slow track speed giving the most hydraulic power to his boom

You increase the motor to full and you divert the power to the boom and lift yourself while pulling you have a better chance. By pushing your bucket down you lift the machine in front but not with the teeth down

40 years ago I worked for fence co. They got one of these to open up the land behind the yard so yard could be x3 well guy told boss he had run one b4 maybe he meant he had washed one rode in one but he never told anyone he got stuck an for a week just went deeper then rained for a week . Rumor has it once boss found out rental Co came in retrieved it . Cost fence co. Over hundred k just coz somebody wouldn't admit to screwing up hell I admit it all time . Its all in timing just like chain saw or bobcat you get guy or gal than runs one for living you be amazed how fast they walk it right on out of there. Have great life peace

Needs to give the track edges something to work, like wood sheeting of some kind and maybe the other excavator can provide a supporting bucket at the back/top to help bolster it leveling out while it regains traction.

Fam, your treads are above the mud. Just 180⁰ and push out while backing up

First thing I would do is dig out in front of the other excavator so it won't have to make the whole climb out at once then use your bucket to help get him out

They need to tow it out not dig another hole for it, get a big chain or cable.

They're not digging, they're setting. Basically the same way a human does it. Grab and pull yourself out

@mike cook: You're exactly right. In the hands of a good operator a backhoe can CLIMB A TREE. This sinking excavator could do almost as much......key is "GOOD OPERATOR"

And just how do you plan on doing that. 1. It needs more dirt under it to prevent it from sinking more. 2. They need either a chain or strap and hook it up to the excavator and help pull from the bottom. It looks like the tracks are worn out to the point it has no teeth to grab at anything.

I don't know why ppl don't pull from between the tracks somewhere as that's the center of everything

A chain fasten to the top of the bucket boom below the hydraulic would help lift the stuck backhoe.

Just be careful of chain breakage risks, something in the way if it does, hit it instead of thru cab hit operator while applying load..

@@patchristian6064the issue is that the tracks at spinning on the concrete or asphalt ..if this was pure dirt mud it’ll be easier…that edge is preventing traction of any sort..they’re gonna need some big ass chokers/cables/chains

I witnessed an excavator operator lose his life, trying to save the machine down by a river. Laid down on the door side into the mud, glasses were shatter proof. The crane on site was too big to crawl the distance in time. He had 30 plus years of experience, but too much pride to give up before it laid down.

If you get stuck in an excavator or backhoe. You don't know what your doing

thats not true, sometimes ground looks harder/dryer than it is. This guy literally went through a bridge

Gunna need to pull that out w a chain from the second escavator while the stuck machine uses its own arm and pushes it self out of the hole. Pushing yourself forward w the arm will push your tracks thru the mud and into some solid ground and the second can help w a chain.

Chassis could be dug out a bit in the middle with trench so better traction can happen. Trying to push all that mud with frame wont happen.

If your are going to use the second excavator run a cable from its bucket to them frame of the stuck one, here is usually a hole you can put a clevis in. Then while holding pressure on the cable spin the stuckexcavator around and pit the bucket on some good groundpush up while slowly tracking out with the other excavator constantly pulling. It night come out without the other excavator pulling but i assume they already tried lifting the sunk end out and tracking without the assistance of the other excavator. The other option would be tovget a big do see or a large truck wrecker

Firstly, wrap chain around BOTH buckets, then simply BACK UP in the one on good footing. Then pull in with extending arm, keep doing such...itll be out.

Competent operators often have rigging to assist, particularly when working near these conditions. People wh directly engage equipment and damage the machine need to be discharged of their duties if damage ia a result.

It would help if they knew how to get unstuck

I think the rescuer needs to offset the body of his machine slightly so the buckets. An come together and pull the other one out.

How do you know that it’s improper? You know certain situations call for different things.

Needs to almos stop the track. and apply force down to the bucket while its up on the air, so it gets traction.

It’s a shame they can’t get operators like myself all around the world to pilot heavy machinery , most of the new generation are half Wits

That’s why use CAT instead of Sany. Not enough grip power.

Inexperienced operators they should’ve used big wooden pads to lay down before working in the mud and sludge … the pads would’ve given a stable platform for the excavator to sit on in the mud, as well as strop the excavator from sinking into the mud … using pads which is what they should’ve done from the beginning would’ve avoided this scenario from ever happening …

캐터필러가 너무 깊이 빠져 양쪽 캐터필러 사이의 몸체 밑으로 흙이 꽉 들어차 있는지라 캐터필러가 계속 헛돌고 캐터필러는 계속 더 깊이 빠지게 됩니다. 그리고 몸체의 뒤가 빠지고 앞이 들린 상태인지라 버켓을 앞으로 해서 당기는 것은 각도가 맞지않아서 버켓이 힘을 받지 못합니다. 일단 캐터필러사이의 흙을 걷어내고 버켓을 반대로 돌려 뒤에서 밀어 올려야 합니다. 캐터필러사이의 흙을 걷어내기 힘들다면 버켓을 앞으로 찍은 상태에서 천천히 회전시켜 몸체를 좌우로 흔들어줍니다.

Better do something fast because that water will pull it on in there and then the water will have to recede before they can get it out with a log skidder and 2 giant recovery wreckers and another excavator and Dozier. Been there and done that with a Brand New Excavator. It ended up staying under water and mud and sand for 3 days before we could get it out completely submerged everything but a couple of inches of the top of the cab and part of the boom sticking up. Had to dig it out.

Stuck rig should be facing other direction pushing its self back. While the other excavator is chained to it and ramping it.

Because he's trying to pull him out of a hole, not dig a bigger one to fall into. He needs as much ground for support and traction as he can get.

Try pulling and pushing using your buckets

If you dig the mud underneath, won't it just be lower then and have nothing to grip onto? This method has the stuck excavator pulling itself up, making the best use of it's strength. Although I don't have any relevant experience so take my opinions with a grain of salt.
