I got the Eräpuu hunter 95, which is very similar. It is great. No sharp spine but fabulous. Of course it digs deep which sometimes is great and sometimes not so much, like with feather sticks. From beginning it made feathers but not so easily to curl. a slight secondary bevel will fix that and make the knife edge stronger. I have giving it a slight convex by hand towards the edge. I also got a couple of ahti leuku and woodsknife leuku. Finnish is excellent value

It always amazes me how good value Finnish knives are. It is definitely a good idea to have a micro bevel on some of these higher scandi type knives. Thanks for watching the video my friend and for the comment.

In my opinion, Ahti makes a beautiful rustic looking traditional puukko. Nothing fancy, but a knife that is meant to be used, rather than displayed or kept in a drawer. Thank you for enlightening us with your thoughts!

Totally agree on all your points of this knife. I've had mine for several years and it's also a favorite companion. The only modification I made was to seal the ferrule like you did, and ever so slightly lower the tip. It's great to find someone with similar tastes in knives that's actually using them in their natural habitat. I intend to go back and enjoy your previous videos....Best Wishes

Greetings from BC Canada Tim. I have way too many knives but I would have no problem in adding an Ahti Puukko to my kit because they are good quality with nice ergonomics (for me) and the price is very reasonable. I have to laugh because I have exactly the same belt that you are wearing which I wear outside my anorak in winter! A good tip for knife sheaths that stretch and become loose is to buy some soft thin leather and cut a small square off that is big enough to glue into the neck of your sheath, this makes a nice tight fit. Stay healthy and safe my friend, Chris.

If I remember rightly the belt was made Fjellprodukter. Many other Nordic companies making similar ones though. The belt over the clothes is really handy when wearing long coats. A bit more messing around to take your coat off though. The belt on the outside is also really good in the winter when wearing salopetts as you have a large warm space to stuff things like mittens, without them falling through. The Saami people here traditionally wear a large ornate belt over their coats to carry their knives. Thanks for watching mate.

Quite a beauty. Reminds me allot of my Marttiini Puukkos but with a nicer finish. Regarding the epoxy, I was thinking similarly but I live in high humidity a d actually opted for using g the gap to put a drop of oil (on each side) down the rat tang once a month to keep it from oxidizing and the wood handle oiled at the same time. But then I never reall used my carbon steel blades in wet environment. Thank you for introducing me to this brand! I'll certainly go looking for one of their knives.

The belt is Finnish , very similar to the Saami ones only without the colours and designs. It's kind of frowned upon outsiders wearing those ones. All of the colours and patterns have there own meanings that relate in some way to the owners and there herritige. @@osmoahma7561 I know mate and your right. The thing is bushcraft is a bit of a strange concept in itself, what it means is different for many people which complicates things a lot. Another thing is to my mind every video should have some kind of a subject, I don't like doing videos of for example me cooking (expecially as I generally just eat noodles 😂). It is definitely an easy option to do knife reviews it takes little time, I use them every day at work so I can test them pretty hard. A lot of the time I do get in the forest (and it's not enough) there are other people with me wich complicates things. Also I always have in mind why should people want to learn tarp setups from me when they can learn them from someone like David Canterbury who teaches this stuff for a living. There are also other things I would like to do more of like the wildlife stuff. This takes a lot of time (expecially with the equipment I have available) also not exactly bushcraft unless I am eating the wildlife. I should maybe do a video on the subject of the whole knife fixation and exactly what bushcraft is to my mind. It definitely shouldn't be as gear focused as it is to many people.
