Park is so good with Shaun. He always has his back and I love how he never holds grudges. Even when Shaun had a meltdown when his son was having an asthma attack, Park found out what was troubling him and fixed it

I can also sense a catalytic chemistry between Park and Shaun when I watched Doctor Mike review the series premiere when he found out that the kid who was struck by shards of glass when the sign shattered at the airport. He noticed that the amplitude of the QRS waves dipped every few heartbeats on the EKG monitor, and Shaun tried to have the doctors give the boy an echo only to be forcibly removed by hospital security.

@@SoManyColours Not in this kind of situation, they aren't. A surgeon in the middle of a surgery doesn't have the luxury of "learning to deal with the struggles they have" while there's an open body on the table. And they would sure as hell be thrown out of that hospital and most likely have their medical license permanently revoked if they not only left the surgery center mid-procedure, but also tore off their surgical mask and started yelling over a patient with an open surgical wound. All of the gear they wear and the extremely thorough scrubdowns that they do in preparation for a surgery? That isn't just for shits and giggles or because they like the aesthetic. Contaminating the surgery center - which is exactly what he did, and egregiously so at that - could quite literally lead to a life-threatening infection, and is a prime example of medical malpractice in action.

It is a good representation of autism within the part of the spectrum the character is in, within a fictional TV show that would be extremely unlikely to take place in reality.

It's actually rather inaccurate. I am on the spectrum high functioning and trust me when I say this I get outbursts...but not like these... these are over the top and extremely inaccurate compared to an actual autistic person. This is more on the lines of bordering non vocal a kind of middle ish to lowish functioning autistic person barely on the cusp to to live relatively normally but with more of that "autistic" attitude. This is over the top especially for his spectrum in the show
He literaly left a patient open in an OR and just left, and we are suposed to be rootig fro him? Dr Han was right, he shouldn't be working on that hospital

I'm genuinely amazed at how different the comments from three years ago are to the comments of today.
I loved the part where Dr. Shaun Murphy said "it's autism time!" and screamed "I am a surgeon! I am a surgeon, Dr. Han!'" to every person in the hospital. The show writers did a very good job subtly suggesting that the main character might be both autistic and a surgeon.
