the way the movie takes you from getting angry with the husband to seeing what he was really trying to do....amazing, touching...and the children, giving lip service only to show they care and actually arguing who will take care of the mother first

The moment the girl feels the touch of her mother which she was yearning for years...you literally cry. It only makes sense for kids who does not have parents. It can be melodrama, but acting is top notch.

That husband's love for his wife made him to bear all the bad name, anger and hatred from his own children bear everything bad and against him. A man who truly loves a women would never allow or wish his women to bear shame from any kind or doesn't want to suffer from anything anymore. Also he took the responsibility to take care of that child but it's interpreted and mistaken by his own children and society. He loves that first child of his wife as if like his own child and takes care of her and never see his children and that child as different. He has his love for his wife, children and that child as same and no partiality in between them. He also wishes to see is wife alive, in the eyes of her first child while asking for her eyes in her death bed. Finally he sacrifice his dignity, name, respect, and everything bearing all sorts of pain in the name of disrespect and hatred from his own children and so on. He thinks that his wife's dignity and name is more important and highest of all, ready to bear anything and everything for her. This is the highest and purest form of love a man can give to a woman!!

Seriously very touching short movie, Especially the union of mother and daughter brought down tears in my eyes and practically speaking nowadays children giving reasons and excuses to take care of parents. Congrats to the team. ❤❤

Simply beautiful , heart touching and such a humble husband and wife . Rare to see such husbands or wives who prioritise their spouse dignity when it comes to affairs before marriage.

Concept, beautifully handled. That’s called acceptance, being practical and forgiving. He has given a new life to the girl. This step requires a magnanimous heart and real balanced brain and skilled in handling emotions. It was good the director showed the game the irresponsible children played, when it came to providing care to their mother.

Good movie..little replica of 'thalapathi' movie. One thing I observed is that blind gal is much younger than her siblings who were born after her. That guy also mentioned that " dad is roaming with a girl who must be around 15yrs".

Unconditional Love from the husband to his wife and family. It's probably one of the best short film Inhave seen. Well done❤❤❤❤❤❤

I could not able to view the film since my eyes are full of tears. Actors are living through this film. Mr Livingston is a best actor, and I wish the Team of the film The Affair.

Very heart touching story. Such a lesson to learn for this generation couples. Mother accepted the father's affair and stood by her husband. That shows the level of understanding and love. And the climax completely mesmerized me. Hats off to the director. Indha level la yosika endha level of understanding venum. Every year I watched again and again ... crying and crying. so deep .. what a shots !!! what a frames... what a depth of characters. and i will watch again and will cry next year also.

It's noble of the husband to bear the shame for protecting his wife. But what is he protecting her from exactly? He doesn't want his children to find out about their mothers past. Is it too shameful to imagine that your mother was once young and been forcefully torn away from her lover and had to give up her baby? She was young and in love, she had nothing to be ashamed of, and now that she's at her deathbed, surely her children can understand. The story is moving but it's also unsettling to know that a woman's past cannot be forgiven and should be kept a secret. Why? The father will rather have himself be disgraced in front of his children as a 'pervert old man' because it's can be forgiven and understood by society but society is not so forgiving or understanding of a woman. There are still questions needs to be asked.

This short film has truly won 18 awards. It deserved all. The best of social tales seen in recent past. I am a non-Tamalian, still I am able to understand the depth of dialogues from all characters' expressions. There is much more in life than the rat race of sex and money. This is what we call the true love between a husband and wife. Misunderstandings are abound but love and care shown here is rarest of rare things in today's running world. Youngsters and particularly males must watch this film to imbibe few qualities of the husband.

Second watching was more excellent than the first one. How children behave towards their parents is really astonishing. First, their rudeness and cruelty for father. Second, neither of them was ready to take care of the ailing mother permanently, but in turns -- 6 months each and that also by keeping a maid!!! This shows their so-called "love" for ailing mother. They forgot that parents never took turns for their upbringing. This is what is called Cruel & Materialistic modernism. It is always easy to criticize than to render selfless service and empathy .

I do not know Tamil language. However, the actors played such wonderful roles with so much emotion that a Delhi born Malayali girl like me too couldn't help the tears rushing! Unfortunately, off late, blaming a male comes so naturally to our society whenever a female is concerned. It's wise and important to verify before judging anyone or concluding. Hats off to Haiku Nee team and the entire cast and crew to bring this out.👏👍
