I remember this scene vividly as a kid because those pastries looked so good.

The pastries in this scene looks so delicious!🤤 And I like the baker's wife's outfit. It's a classic Strawberry Shortcake-like design.

I love it when Geppetto screams ''Pinocchio", too! I can tell that geppetto is really worried about not knowing where Pinocchio would be because he does want to find him.

I remember watching this countless of times when I was younger. Oh wow, such a childhood classic.

Omg i know right theyre cannolleys i think of that sweet every time i walk in a baker shop i asked so many times at different shops if they know what the sweet was in the movie and all of them said an expensive rich tasting cannolley. It ranged from 150 to 300 dollars for 1. I would by it. 100%

@@sofiastern1653 okay I take back my previous response because I forgot that this was edited, but I stand by on the greedy part, but in the original sequence, Pinocchio was running around grabbing handfuls upon handfuls of pastries and eating them so i gues that was what the payment was for but I guess she was wanting more for breaking things because Pinocchio made her do it, at least that's what she's thinking

i dont know why this movie scared me so much as a kid, but this scene in particular made me really uncomfortable back in the day, like I could feel the cake scraping against the wood inside his mouth or some shit

I've always wondered if the kid at the beginning was sneaking cake or if his parents bought some for him.

This Pinocchio and Guillermo Del Toro's version are way better than both the Disney versions.

I wish Carlo Collodi (1826-1890) the original creator of THE ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO (1883), he should've added a pastry shop for Pinocchio, just to make Pinocchio's first big trouble making before his father gets arrested. Believe me, this scene would be great in the original book to make the kids of Italy laugh.

Not too sure why I remember this movie. But this movie is definitely strange.

I remember watching this movie when I was in elementary school a long time ago

I had a strawberry and whipped cream croissant and it reminded me of the cream in the pastries from this movie. It looks exactly the same lol

Pinocchio's father Geppetto does get arrested in the book while Pinocchio is naked and runs wild and crazy in the town's square and that's later when poor Pinocchio kills the Talking Cricket with a mallet.

Yeah, Sadly enough. The impression was quite a bit water down after I saw the trailer just today. I always thought of this film as something gloomy and dark kind. Perhaps like, The black crystal.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who scared of this as a kid

Such a simple theft of some tasty pastry cakes ... leads to an arrest when they COULD have been more PROFESSIONAL by simply detaining Pinocchio long enough for suppose Geppeto to visit the bakery and have Geppeto pay for the 'theft' of the cakes - and yet the baker gets worked up and she demolishes pretty much all of the bakery.... ironic...
