I'm loving this show so much because it's not telling us everything is black and white - everything the jedi do is going to be correct, everything those the jedi are against do is bad, it's nuanced and messy. The show is handing us complex situations where everyone has their own perceptions of what's going on and letting us just sit with it instead of saying 'x person is the good guy, x person is the bad guy'. It really makes you sit with your own preconceived notions and interrogate them - like when the episode opened with Osha holding the butterfly with the force and everyone assumed it was Mae and she was doing it maliciously, but then when Mae comes in and does the exact same thing, Osha yells at her for 'doing things like that' and we as the audience can see that Osha's view of Mae isn't very objective - she already sees Mae as a road-block to her own freedom and what she wants to do with her life. At every turn, our expectations of who is doing what's good and who is doing what's bad is shifted and turned on its head and I'm really enjoying it.

Every star wars since Episode 1 does that, "everything the jedi do is going to be correct, everything those the jedi are against do is bad, it's nuanced and messy." It's getting too played out now. Star Wars needs new ideas they keep doing that same exact plot point every time.

I would also counter that not even in the Prequel trilogy films themselves, was the idea that the Jedi are super bueacratic and bumbling entity really super explored, it's just that George is reallllllllllllly bad at writing stuff like that and they had to spend 7 seasons of The Clone Wars to retcon that so everyone doesn't look as stupid as they look in those films.

#BelieveWomenAndShit Technically Korril would be of Maul’s species (though a different sub species), not his home planet. Something else for sure must’ve happened to cause that disaster. With Mae implying the jedi attacked without provocation, I’m thinking the coven may have been deemed a threat and the jedi were given orders to take them out. Or at the very least shut them down, and the confrontation spiraled out of control. There could also be a third party as you and others have speculated. It’s been confirmed neither Palpatine or Plagueis created Anakin. The Force made Anakin in response to them messing around. And that’s true in both canon and Legends. People like to point at a page from a Vader comic that seems to imply Palpy was responsible, but the writer confirmed this was not the case.

Best Characters From The Acolyte 1. Smilo Ren/Qimir 2. Sol 3. Aniseya 4. Mae (older) 5. Osha 6. Yord Charlie from Emergency Awesome is correct. Yord is comparable to Syril in Andor. Uptight and always plays by the book. I don’t care for Osha and Jecki’s lesbian romance. So to differentiate Mae from Osha, Amandla wears similar wigs but Osha’s hair is shorter. Mae’s hair is shorter at the front but longer in the back. Or they can use one wig and attach extensions on the back for Mae’s hair. Almost every male SW fan wants a character who looks like a badass and wants him to use a lightsaber like a badass which includes a man child like Star Wars Theory who wants Revenge of the Sith be redone 100 more times. Male SW fans were jizzing who Marrok would turn out to be. That’s all male SW fans wants. They want lightsaber duels and the character looks cool doing it. Preferably a white guy like Hayden and they want him to twirl a lightsaber like *Carly* *King* and Ray Park. Carly King is loving The Acolyte. Let’s not hate her for enjoying it. *Sister* *Sage:* Ryan is the first natural-born superhero. And his brand needs to reflect that. He’s not one of Vought’s lab rat freaks. He was chosen - by fate, God, whatever- to be the one who saves the world. *Homelander:* Yes. But let’s not forget why he is special. Shall we? He’s my son. Chosen by God, sure, but, uh… made by me. *Sister* *Sage:* The chosen one narrative only works if he stands alone. Harry Potter. Neo. Luke Skywalker. Hollywood’s trained people to fall in love with *white* *boy* *lone* *saviors.* So, America will want to fall in love with Ryan. Technically, Luke isn’t the Chosen One but he was the reason why Anakin killed Palpatine (or supposedly if you ignore Episode IX). All this bring balance to the Force is a bunch of mumbo jumbo. That explanation of the Force needing light and dark is so vague and esoteric. To me, Luke was the hero of the Original Trilogy because he could’ve killed his dad but he chose not to. Or you can argue Vader pulled back but *love* from a father and son was the real hero of the OG Trilogy. Whining about lore breaking…. They showed fire in space! Mae & Osha undermines Anakin’s birth! Ki-Adi-Mundi broke TPM’s canon! Google search Star Wars plot holes from Yoda training Obi-Wan and not Qui-Gon to Leia seeing her dead mother to having complete amnesia for C-3PO and R2-D2. Why did Obi-Wan take 3 years to send Luke to Yoda? How come the Millennium Falcon wasn’t properly scanned? Vader can’t sense that’s his daughter he’s torturing and had captured twice? Why did Yoda give up so easily in ROTS during his fight with Sidious? Why did it take a year to rescue Han from Jabba’s palace? More plot holes: How come the Jedis are easily forgotten after 19 years? How Vader uses an “ancient” religion. So 19 years is considered ancient? The Jedis were the guardians of peace and justice for over a thousand generations according to Obi-Wan and they get completely forgotten after two decades? Han Solo is the atheist but his best friend happens to know the last living Jedi Master remaining. Someone who oversaw a war happening in Chewbacca’s home planet of Kashyyyk. Now I won’t get into how come Owen Lars doesn’t recognize C-3PO in A New Hope when Threepio stood next to him in Attack of the Clones after Shmi died. Threepio was silver and droids are basically looked upon as appliances. But I do find it hilarious that Owen basically bought back the droid he used to have 22 years prior and it’s the one his stepbrother made. It’s George Lucas making up stuff along the way. George has broke his own canon by adding characters that weren’t there. Or him trying to shoehorn old characters like the droids and Chewie as fan service which creates even more plot holes. You can’t whine about the lore breaking when George Lucas did it himself. Ahsoka was the biggest unnecessary addition and Dave Filoni sure loves his baby girl, his waifu. She’s never mentioned in any of the OG movies. Anakin wasn’t ranked Master yet and he still had his own padawan. She’s basically Rey before Rey. The closest to having live action Mara Jade. Ahsoka was hated early on. Then The Clone Wars got better and now she’s even more beloved than Leia and Padmé. Star Wars is not high art. There’s going to be bozo writing like how Jar Jar keeps getting promoted for higher government jobs. Or how Obi-Wan changes his first name to Ben but keeps his last name and hides Vader’s son in Anakin’s home planet with Ani’s own stepbrother and wife while Luke still uses the same last name. So much inconsistencies in the writing dating back to A New Hope. Star Wars is not coming from Coppola, Scorsese, or Nolan. It’s not Oppenheimer. Treat it like the next Jurassic movie. High expectations is why Star Wars gets judged so harshly compared to something like Star Trek when all Star Wars is involves space monks/samurais with telekinesis and laser swords. *The* *L-Word* If all of this is a message from a lesbian who is proud to be a lesbian and it’s ok for little girls to be like her, then there’s no hope for this show. Star Wars has turned into The L-Word and Orange is the New Black. Because some chick named Leslye Headland who has a wife named Rebecca Henderson has this show starring a Black lesbian named Amandla Stenberg and that it’s ok to be like them. That seems to be the entire premise is to show lesbians exists in Star Wars. That’s the whole point of this. Nothing else. When Nerdrotic was saying The Acolyte was really a bunch of space lesbians, my greatest fears for that are coming true. That’s all this show is becoming. Space lesbians everywhere!! Hey Leslye, you didn’t need to tack on your sexual orientation and lifestyle onto a Star Wars show. This is not cool. It’s like Cheese kicking that dog in House of the Dragon S2E1. We’re the dog. These final four episodes better be bangers or this remains as the worst thing Star Wars has ever put out. Worse than The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker. Worse than The Rings of Power and even She-Hulk!! And gut feeling tells me it’s not going to change. I feel bad for some of the cast members. Part of the worst SW project ever created because some lesbian, a former assistant to Harvey, wanted a SW series catered to lesbians. It’s The AcoDyke! And The Wokelyte is simply a PSA telling viewers that lesbians are awesome! Anyhoo, we’re all still going to tune in next week to find out if Qimir is Smilo Ren or not and who killed the lesbian witches from 16 years ago. It’s a trainwreck, we know, but we still can’t take our eyes away from it in this lesbian whodunit series. We need Jenilea, young Rhaenys, back in the Burlington Bar this Sunday.

I may have my issues with the show, but some more _intense_ fans that feel the same way might benefit by expanding their perspectives when it comes to most of these stories. We're talking about an entire galaxy, but more importantly a vast history. And what are we watching? A dozen hours in the life of a group of individuals all across a *vast history.* I mean instead of saying something broke cannon, perhaps look at it like, _"Well, let me tell you about this one time…"_ Afterall, the entire history of the United States is not defined by the short period prohibition was in effect. Or during the time of McCarthyism. But the stories one can tell during these times can be as vague or as detailed as the storyteller wishes.
