So if the Jedi measure someone's force potential with a midi-chlorian count, do the witches of Brendok measure it by a "Thread" count? I bet that gets really confusing when they go shopping for fabrics... LOL

Some good points Jedha, especially with the Thread critism. My critisms are these: -Overall story: Twin sister drama, to me it's boring starting point. - Experienced Jedi Master killed by untrained witch/assassin with throwing knives. - One torch burned the whole mountain (I've been thinking about this and there might be another one who sabotaged the mountain as well, Torbin maybe?) - If the events of mountain went how we saw, why Torbin was feeling so guilty about it? (see my theory above) - Kind a weak ass witches use the force to create life where's fully trained, powerful and wise Sith cant? Here's my theory of this that would make sense: Witches got help from Darth Tenebrous (and his Bith technology) to create the twins. If they just used the Force without bioscience, that's just lazy writing. Although it was hinted that creation of the twins wasnt so ethical, at least in Republic's point of view. At this time, Plagueis was still Tenebrous' apprentice hence we could see some Bith technology. Your theory on Koril expanding the fire wouldnt line up with the Trobin feeling so quilty.. So many loose ends..

I mean anakin was part of the prophecy the great chosen one to replace a legend. Also he was conceived through the force at the forces will. The twins were conceived through the manipulation of the force. I don't enjoy the show, but anakins still special

I will agree 100% that the death of the Jedi in the first episode was super disappointing. A Jedi should have been MUCH harder to kill. The killer is trained though, just not by the Jedi Temple (not a teenage witch) but even so… Other than that and the fact that the show is moving too slow? I’m enjoying it (or at least suspending my conclusions until I see more). My problem is folks sending swarms of bots trying to kill the show from day one. If folks don’t like it? Just stop watching. I just don’t like people trying to enhance the impact of their singular opinion. 🤷🏾‍♀️

So, I sat here and LISTENED to what Jedha and the comments from others, and I see all the points and respect them. First of all, I agree, the show is plagued by VERY BAD WRITING. Osha wanting to be a Jedi without knowing who the Jedi are, horrible. All of the withes DYING BY A FIRE, when they all have powers akin to a Jedi, made no damn sense. The agenda they pushed if you could call it that didn't take me out of the story. I guess because after understanding the main concept George Lucas was trying to deliver with Star Wars and especially the Force, it is all about balance, and every time something happens to cause the Force to go out of balance, the Force self corrects to get back in balance again. From what I see so far even though parts of it is poorly executed, this story is ONE of the MANY telling of the birth of the Sith. One more point that pissed me off, if the Jedi were so horrible. why would they come to talk and reason with the witches, which they did. UNLESS....it was the Jedi who were responsible for the death of the witches 😳. Would that be a shocker of a reveal.

Once i noticed that it was becoming woke with the witches, i was like… Noooooooooooo, why why why!

I agree it's been disappointing so far, but how was she untrained? Why did Carrie-Anne's character ask who trained her? And we saw (well sorta) who did anyway right? Bein' all moody and stuff out on the rocks... And that young dude was terrible, but who knows what's going on because he was good in Russian Dolls which was the same co-showrunner writing and directing. Just weird. And no logic to liking the Jedi so far as you say. The song was bizarre. I can see that the intention was obviously a witchy version of charismatic church/religious speaking in tongues and chanting shenanigans, but executed in a way that felt like - a musical?!! Remember "life day"? Shudder! A personal bugbear is when they just move past a problematic point and hope people don't notice. Like the mother lying and no-one taking her to task on it. Jedi, Osha, whomever. And I love that little "Pip" boy too. But I'll reserve total judgement until the end. People who cancel 1/8th in are, uh...

The show is okay not my favorite it has potential but it isn't good in the direction I was expecting.

I watched the first 3 episodes. Its not terrible, its just slow and boring. First show it made miss Jar Jar. Regardless of the show, Im still getting a jedi wookie figure. Finger crossed for a dual saber sith lord Ewok

Thanks for the live stream, it's clear we have very different readings of what happens in the prequel trilogy and that leads to us understanding key moments in the films differently, but I have a much clearer idea of how you arrived at your dislike for the story of Acolyte thus far and the atmosphere you created in the live stream made room for me to come to that understanding and it feels like there aren't many space like that these days, so again thanks. That being said I do think that Acolyte is going in a different direction than you think it's going and I just hope we both get some enjoyment out of it in the end.

Missed this live. I’m annoyed by the agenda. Mostly because it’s boring. I have watched the three episodes and it doesn’t make sense.

Everything about this show is 💩🤷‍♂️ if you like it cool good for you. But for me it’s a pile of 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩

The copium going around is laughably bad. The quality of the show is just bad. Anyone thinking it’s groundbreaking has horrible taste. There really is no debating it. This is the most CW that Star Wars has ever been. Say what you will about anything else Disney has done with Star Wars since they acquired it. This show is worse than the Rise of Skywalker and I didn’t think that was possible. The other two movies were decent for what they were. The Last Jedi did contribute to Rise of Skywalker being a hot turd though. This show had roughly the same budget as Dune 2 and is no where near the quality of that film. It’s funny how the tables have turned with Star Wars. It used to be far and away superior to Dune. The old Dune movies were awful. The reboot films are some of the best science fiction out there right now. Bravo to them, for showing us how it’s done.

The things you guys are hating on are silly. There's so much in this show that connects with the movies and existing Force lore. It also connects with the beliefs of George Lucas, with his idea of the Whills within midi-chlorians that manage destiny, and also connects with Plagueis who we already know made lifeforms by using the dark side to manipulate midi-chlorians. Anakin was not the first conceived from the Force. If you know the prequels or read books, you'd know this. The difference is, Anakin was created by the Force itself, and was willed into existence by the Whills/midi-chlorians to create balance. Osha and Mae are balanced, they are separated into light and dark, and were created by dark side manipulation. Anakin is still special.

This review has a fundamental misunderstanding of what Star Wars is. Two people being able to create life has nothing to do with the prophecy of the one. The prophecy itself is just a prophecy, created by humans and inherently flawed. Go back to figure reviews.
