@WaltRight Not all were blind, after being a fan of 40+ years I saw the force awakens and decided that would be the last Star Wars I would watch. Never saw the last jedi or the fall of skywalker. The Force Awakens told me everything I needed to know about how Disney was going to handle the franchise. I knew that if I watched those disney movies I would never enjoy the originals again. Bullet dodged :D

It was evident to anyone with half a brain when Solo was released. The intent was to make another Solo film to get people invested in the recasted Solo and Lando, then recast the OT characters. Fortunately the audience at least bailed on that. But fans were too stupid to bail at The Last Jedi.

I will never give Disney another single penny. What they've done to Star Wars is simply unforgivable. Forever.

How do you treat the good guys like criminals? Write them that way. How do you tank a world-famous IP? Insult everyone that made it that way.

Can anyone explain the Disney logic? You buy something costing 4.4 Billion. It is expensive because it is very popular and is loved by billions the world over. It is so big that a whole culture has grown up around it. For about half a century the thing has remained in the public consciousness. So the first thing you do is the change it into something unrecognizable. Then you wonder why the world doesn't like the new and improved version. Rather than going back to the original you call the fans names and go on the war path. When the public lose interest you are shocked as to why. The world knows what is wrong with Star Wars and who is behind it. You cannot force people to like something. Sorry, you cannot THREAD people into liking something.

I think multiple motives are at play. While I can't prove it, I genuinely suspect that KK is on a revenge quest against Lucas for being his coffee girl and humiliating herself by dancing in The Temple of Doom. Moreover, I think some of the writers and upper level people are ideologues who will burn money for their moral agenda. Sometimes, ideas take precedent over profit. These are two factors at play, along with several other typical misunderstandings of what people want and how to make money on a preexisting IP.

It is because she is delusional. KK is a very stubborn and delusional individual who for some reason won’t be removed from her position. She interjects herself into all these Star Wars projects when producers normally only finance them. Most Hollywood films flop because of Producer interference. She is very out of touch and ever since 2012 it has only gotten worse over time. She doesn’t want feedback because she can’t handle feedback. She craves praise but can never attain it. Just look at the ceremony for Indiana Jones 5. You can literally see how pissed she immediately got when John Williams was thanked but not her and she grabs George to walk off stage while hiding behind him. Also at Star Wars celebration, when she makes an entrance on stage and barely gets any audience appraisal. Then Diego Luna is welcomed onstage and the crowd went absolutely wild. She is a narcissist who is never satiated. She is an attention seeker that is never validated.

My personal headcannon is that everything Disney has made is KK's fanfiction, the EU is still cannon and the thrawn trilogy is the true sequel trilogy ❤

@@tvgerbil1984 I can't speak for Andor, but R1 honestly had quite a few of the same problems as virtually everything else made under Di$ney: utterly bland characters, piss-poor world-building, totally non-descript planets, an often overly convoluted and/or fetch quest-y plot, often more modern/MCU-esque dialogue and humor, painfully self-conscious fan service, the undercutting of certain story details from Eps. I-VI, etc.

Disney's Star Wars is retconning all of George Lucas's work and replacing it was their version of it. But unfortunately for Disney not many people like it.

I remember playing Jedi Academy II when I was younger, and I would agonize over which force powers I wanted to use. It was only because the sith had choke and lightening, and I thought those were kinda cool, but the Jedi... the Jedi where heroes. I would almost always choose the light side of the force for that fact alone. Cause I wanted to play the game as a hero. Not very long ago, in a galaxy that we call home.... Bad people did bad things, and would derive their power from the pain they experienced. Many believed them heroes, and they believed it too sometimes... from a certain point of view. It's been 16 years since I played those games, but I still feel the same way, and it resonates with reality... Jedi are good, because they practice self-control, empathy, and compassion. Sit are bad, because they give into indulgence, decadence, and lust.

1. Yes, they are ruining it on purpose, for one reason or another. 2. The context of that Ahsoka shirt has been twisted into something it's not. That character deserves better. Counting the days till Disney's contributions are non-cannon. Hopefully that's only 3 months away. If KK gets a contract renewal. Some department that deals with employment or something needs to fully investigate her to understand what is going on there. Make a go fund me (or whatever they use nowadays), I swear the entire StarWars fandom would happily bank roll that investigation.

One guy - even Sith - dispatching so easily so many Jedi is changing Jedi into miserable cannon fodder. It is funny how the only thing those Jedi can do is running with they lightsabres. They could use force to slow down enemy or protect their friends by stopping blows with force or toss rocks and trees at him. There are so many things they could do from the distance to stop the enemy and make him unable to do anything. It was already incredible feat when someone was able to face 2 Jedi and almost win (Darth Maul). Here creators made someone many times better then Darth Maul which feels pretty absurd. This is a quite large case of show over substance problem which in this case ruins Jedi as some super fighters. In Disney TV shows Jedi are both cannon fodder and unstoppable killing machine depending on what the show needs at a given moment - let just compare alone Kenobi moving many rocks at once while fighting against Vader and winning though Kenobi wasn't using force for years while Vader was able to stop and move space ships, Luke easily dispatching many super droids in Mandalorian and this fight. Jedi abilities fluctuate like crazy.

The Jedi are the good guys fighting through incredible odds to bring peace and justice to all races, creeds, and colors throughout the galaxy. The End.

Either way, they clearly hate the Jedi.

You are correct. There's a live Collider interview where she explains that was her pitch to KK, that the Jedi be the antagonists, and that the usual "bad guys" be the scrappy underdogs. All that interview told me was that she relates to the bad guys a bit too much, heh. There's been a lot of similar talk about it from her and some of the cast, such as the Yord actor's quote about how SW is not about good vs evil, it's about what side you're standing on- they must have discussed that while making the show.

It's all about the scissor sisters.

Where Ahsoka is concerned, the phrase shouldn’t be ‘ I am no Jedi’ It should be ‘I am not a Star Wars character’ she should never have existed to begin with, Anakin shouldn’t have an apprentice, it makes no sense in the context of the films & as for the Jedi, like Star Wars as a whole, were once cool & special & _rare_ but after ROTS, they’ve become cheap, forgettable, mundane, expendable & disposable.

This video made me cry, Jay. You express our feelings about this so beautifully. It was a good cry I needed over this whole mess because usually I'm just angry about it. I spent my whole time in middle school joyfully obsessed over Star Wars and recently watched all six films with my own daughter who sadly asked at the very end if "there were anymore". They can do whatever they want. I won't care. They won't get my money. Acolyte is the first star wars I do not watch. If they continue to ignore the fans and double down on this path, there will be no more fan base. And if they STILL continue, I just won't care. I will be way done with star wars at that point. Star Wars used to be my favorite thing back in the 80's and 90's. No more moving forward. Only Original Trilogy for me.

Nothing that Disney does actually matters. They can claim all day long that thus is cannon. It's not. It's just over paid fan fiction.

Well it was no secret that the Acolyte's main goal is to ruin the JEDI, by making them the villains despite, that they were the archetypal "good guys" since the franchise was born. Which, might I add, the story did a really poor job doing so far. Although we are up to Episode 5 at the time writing this comment so maybe the last few episodes can make up for but I don't think it will.

From the moment Disney took over and all the he said, she said changing up the history/EU cannon and not cannon anymore, killing Solo softly we all knew it was over. The dream, the present and the future of The Wars in the Stars was completely over. Harrison let them kill him off to wash his hands clean of the mess that was getting ready drop. As soon as we heard about TFA it was over. What was once a lean, mean money making machine telling us fun stories is over. When Lucas films employees were getting out and moving on to other things it was over. I never understood how people were buying into the new crap they were feeding us. I’m a fan of the first 3 seen them all in theaters and incorporated in my life what I learned from those movies. When GL did the prequels I accepted them and enjoyed them as part of the history. The books, the games I read some and played those that appealed to the SW in me. Star Wars was over when George sold it, plain and simple. I wish people would just stop following the new crap, take a break away from It for a decade. Just stop and don’t give it any of your energy. Until they bring fans back into the fold and those that care for it to create and produce what SW really is, then accept the fact it’s over, the dream is over. I’ll take my old original VHS copies, 80’s Millennium Falcon and my pre sale loot with me everywhere I go and when I’m dead.. oh well, I’ll be one with the force. The Jedi have been in steady decline even before Disney took over. In the prequel trilogy, Palpatine had the whole order completely snowed while enacting his plan. With the help of Dooku, he nearly completely wiped out the Jedi during Order 66. In the Clone Wars, both Berris Offee AND Pon Krell turned on the Jedi Order. During Star Wars Rebels, some surviving Jedi flipped and became Inquisitors. If you look at it from this standpoint, the Jedi Order was pretty inept. Now to be fair, Luke DID redeem the Jedi Order, got rid of Palpatine and redeem Vader, but even in most EU materials, you'd have thought that he'd have scowered the galaxy and brought all the surviving Jedi back together. The problem with this era of Star Wars is that Kathleen Kennedy wants to break the Jedi apart so she can rebuild them the way SHE wants to instead of redeeming the wayward Jedi and building back the order the way it SHOULD have been. As for Ahsoka, the Jedi Order didn't stand up for her when she was framed and she decided to go her own way. They didn't do a very good job of building out what the Gray Jedi could have been. They could have very easily had been like a rogue ranger corps policing the galaxy on their own using both light AND dark force powers without an allegiance to anyone. I'd have liked to have seen that.

On the note of the 13 year old nephew... if a kid is actually interested in something he's going to watch it and not listen to what he's heard. My own teen son and I, who like with most, truly bowed out with Boba Fett and Mandalorian season 3 My son was 12 at the time of Boba Fett... we were both not impressed but the big thing he took away from it was the Forced return of Grogu. He said you save that for the finale of season 3, nope they just threw him in the lap of Mando in the middle of a Boba Fett series. We attempted Mandalorian season 3 and both stop watching completely when the pterodactyls took the mando kids. My son went on a rant while we were watching it why aren't they doing this why are they doing that. Ultimately what I'm getting at is the kids have lost interest in Star Wars that's a problem for a place like Disney

It is no longer about Good vs Evil. It is about "my truth" and "power." Disney pushing this garbage out.... Heroes are supposed to be the example making the hard choices and sacrifice we all strive to do. Being a hero is supposed to be difficult to achieve. That's the point. That is the Jedi Way. That is the Mandalorian Way....

They turned the Jedi into how they see the LAPD.

The Jedi were the coolest for me in the 2003 Clone Wars 2D animated series. Mace Windu punching Super Battle Droids was very over the top but awesome!!! Side note, have been reading Heir to the Empire for the first time and very much enjoying it!

Another thing Disney consistently does with the Jedi is let the bad guys DEFINE the Jedi and what the Jedi can and cannot do. Makes it really convenient for the bad guys. (and yes, Lucas did do this with Palpy in Return)

The issue is everyone wants to “de-construct” as if it some sort badge of honor. It’s not it’s a trend that died with Logan

This whole situation with The Acolyte is easily fixed--just like they did with the shooting of JR in "Dallas". "It was only a dream," they said. So, 2nd season of Acolyte could open with Mando waking from a bad dream, then (in reality) capturing Kathleen Kennedy in frozen carbonite, Luke slicing Mae's lightsaber in half lengthwise (with her hand still attached), and Yoda force-moving the Lesbian Space Witches into some other galaxy far, far away. Mando would blow the smoke off of his blaster & walk into the sunset. Fire all the idiots who dreamed up this junk and remove all references to the existence of some short-lived woke series disturbance of the force.

Leaving all those invaluable Light Sabers on the ground after the "epic battle" with all those "amazing" now-dead Jedi, whoever they were, made no fucking since. Ya' know, the bar for The Acolyte has apparently been set so low, the writer's apparently accidentally tripped over it on this one!

Kathleen Kennedy clearly missed the point (probably on purpose) that when Anakin says in The Revenge of the Sith words to the effect of; "From my point of view the Jedi are evil!" that is not supposed to be a fair and valid assessment of the moral value of the Jedi, but instead an indication of just how far under Palpatine's influence Anakin has fallen, which is why Obiwan replies; "Well then you are lost!". KK just went with the idea that the Jedi are, beneath it all, pretty villainous, or at least were villainous as they were before the arrival of Saint Rey, and on that basis depicted the Jedi as oppressive and potentially murderous victimisers of the space witches. It is Jake Skywalker coming within a trice of murdering his sleeping nephew because he had a bad dream all over again.

There's one thing beyond KK's control. She can use other people's money (for a little longer) and make stories, but they have to be POPULAR to have any longevity. It's all dust and farts in the wind without that. May the real Star Wars lore live long and prosper.

They're trashing it because they don't understand and refuse to even try to understand it. In their minds( I believe) continuity is not important when it comes to anything fantasy/fiction.

They need to film one last episode of the acolyte. Start with a short recap and then Luke waking up and realise it was a bad dream.

Headland is getting vicarious thrills from killing Jedi. She said it herself in interviews. She is Sith sympathetic. She said Episode 5 was her favorite and it’s obvious that it’s because Jedi die one after another. Remember that Disney made Maleficent the victim and king Stephan the villain. It’s the same here. Sith are “misunderstood” and Jedi are villains and Headland gets a big rush watching them die. Note that the most graphic killing is of a woman Jedi and my guess is this was Headland’s favorite moment. The Apocolyte is little more than a TV expression of Headland’s personal psychoses. And KK is her enabler.

I don’t think the Disney Star Wars team is smart enough to plan that far ahead. I think they just don’t understand Star Wars or the audience.

In the originals The rebels were the Vietcong and the empire was America… part of me thinks Disney is trying to make everything grey and cloudy on purpose to have sith being cool, mysterious and sexy while the Jedi are incompetent and boring. WHATS THE POINT?! Nobody is watching it why are they so stubborn it’s wild, history will not look kindly on all this slop and people will laugh Disney into the ground for these choices.

It's pretty telling that The Acolyte doesn't even make clear that the witches are "dark side". Uber fans will assume that, and it's been confirmed by one of the actresses on social media, but at least some people going into the show won't get that. I have seen some Acolyte defenders seeming not to realize it, and being like, "They're just trying to practice the Force by themselves, why are the Jedi bothering them." It must have been deliberate to leave out that detail, since having it in would make the Jedis' actions more understandable to viewers.

Technically Ahsoka is not a Jedi since she left the order. I believe she was a knight before all that drama went down. Ahsoka should have been the lead character of last trilogy. The first movie reveal would have been glorious, all the Mary Sue stuff could have been avoided, her finally getting an apology from Yoda for them not trusting her word all those years ago, and an epic final battle at the end where Ahsoka could step aside with "I will not be your opponent" so Luke can finish what he started against the Emperor. I will never let that go. Ahsoka being the center of the final trilogy fixes so many issues by her just existing. Then we would have the father's downfall, the son's rise to correct those wrongs, and the father's apprentice helping the son restore order to galaxy.

More to this, the scripts are written by people who doesn’t understand physics or science in that matter. Like energy cannon fired by star destroyer has a trajectory. The shell loops like in WWII movies but in space.

Kathleen Kennedy wants to recreate the Jedi into her vision of what they should be. This is like a house painter wanting to recreate the mona lisa because they think they can do better. Some things can't be improved on, certainly not in the way KK is trying to do it. She needs to bite the bullet and realize she screwed up, and then get back to gettings actors and writers who have a genuine appreciation for the established lore on board to get Star Wars back to what attracted the audience to begin with

It’s telling that the shills and such are focused on Ki Adi Mundi’s birthdate being changed and glomming onto the “death threats” Wookieepedia allegedly received. It gives them an opportunity to not have to defend the trash show. And for the person who wrote that tweet (sure that interaction totally happened) I don’t need those dastardly KZreadrs to tell me this show is trash, I can see it with my own eyes.
