The Acolyte is Star Wars if you made an official parody. Leslye Headland is a showrunner who made a show about identical twins but refused to actually use them as actresses, because identical twins look too similar to each other. When your only counterpoint to this is that Amandla Stenberg can do it because she is a genius, You lose a lot of credibility. One expression across two characters is wild, but not as bad mysteries arent as important as how a character looks, jedi should actually balance themselves with evil and Manny Jacinto had nothing to work with, so she lucked out that he was actually good. But what do you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

I’ll never forget when I was a kid and saw Empire for the first time, the scene where Yoda pulls Luke’s X-Wing from the swamp was so thrilling and revealing, with John William’s score truly making it something magical. The force was not a cheap, malleable plot device but rather a mysterious character of its own, and at that point we began to see the true power of wielding it. There’s absolutely nothing memorable or mysterious like that in the latest offerings from Disney, they feel like superficial, poorly conceived, amateur entertainment. These modern creators, whether intentional or not, take the qualities that made Star Wars what it was to begin with and throw them in the garbage, presenting us their own interpretations that are unrecognizable but worse yet lack any substance to be in league with their original predecessors or stand up on their own. I don’t give a shit what diverse people are in a project, just make the forefront the quality and storytelling of the project itself and make it worthy if you’re going to attach such an iconic name to it.

in 1987, when Ted Turner the billionaire colorized classic b/w movies made by MGM, the studio he had just acquired. Hollywood went up in arms, many actors and producers, including George Lucus ran a campaign in Congress to have Ted, the copy right owners stoped. They said Turner had no moral right to alter their arts. When major football clubs decided to create Super European League, their fans rose up and calling for the owners to leave the clubs. They said the clubs belong to the fans since they pay for them. the clubs owners are mere custodians. Ultimately, the clubs backed off. If the curators of the Louvre Museum decided he could improve on Mona Lisa’s smile, Could he do it? Curators of the art has no right to alter the art. They can make profit from them, but not to alter them. Star Wars’ Universe, including characters and their stories is Art. If the woke Star Wars films were good, why didn’t they create their own art, their own Universes? They can even call it Star Wars adaptation. Why mess with someone else’s art? Fans of Star Wars should get organized and call for it’s protection against art vandalism. Disney’s share holders should be their main target.

To sum up the entire problem with these wackos is the fact she was weirded out and didnt understand that Vader was "seduced" by the dark side. I was a very young child when I first watched star wars. Ive never been the least bit confused by that word. I mean, its literally called context and its one of the basic fundamentals of written language. "Vader was seduced by the dark side" is different than "OSHA was seduced by the naked body of a sith". seduced means the same thing in both examples, but the kind of "seduction" we are talking about is slightly different. Words arent just fluid and mean whatever you want them to. Hence why we have "thats what she said jokes".

Instead of, y’know, Vader enjoyed the emotional feeling of power and strength, which are the principles of how the dark side of the Force works. The more he enjoyed the dark side, the more power he could tap into. I can’t believe she doesn’t understand this.

Making Osha's moral structure crumble because of an emotional aspect would make sense if ...well, it was exactly the opposite of what we got. If her moral code breaks because she is absolutely torn for revenge against Smilo Ren instead of wanting to get into his pants. Lesley isn't aware of how transparent her lack of moral compass is to anyone actually listening to what she says and taking her at her words. Despite what her worldview thinks, having everything reduced to sexual impulse is not deep, compelling, or edgy. It's juvenile and depressingly shallow.

I'm not sure if you're aware of what her former job was, but she was Harvey Weinstein's personal assistant that was in 'resource acquisition' so to speak. Her life for a long time was feeding young girls to her boss and watching them fold for clout and fame and she thinks that was all normal. Since the tide has turned she publicly somehow denies any knowledge of what was happening and thinks it was bad™, but you can see how her morality and brain actually works in series like this to see why she was totally fine with it all that time. She probably got in on the action since she swings that way.

Yes Andor was the title character but the whole Mon Mothma arc was sublime -- showing how someone in power was having to dance between appearances and rebelling. So well done. Pacing was excellent. It was story (not plot) first and action second. They told a more compelling and interesting story in the one prison episode than we've seen in the Acolyte so far ... Showing how the prison / slavery worked, the motivations that the empire had but how much limited on resources they were. The prisoners believing they were working for freedom but that being a shattered illusion by the end ... all amazingly well written and acted - we had an amazing piece of Star Wars world building all wrapped up in a single episode.

Then I’d burn the scripts, cancel the Acolyte and redirect the money to a new Star Wars show and try to find a talented showrunner who is an actual fan of the original trilogy who could actually come up with a premise that would actually fit within the franchise and keep the Jedi as a good faction. But we know Headland is lying about the identical twins in casting, because she already said Amandala was the person she had in mind when she wrote Mae and Osha and who she intended to cast and that Amandala didn't even have to audition, nor did Squid Game Guy or at least two or three other actors she cast in The Acolyte. And how in the actual fuck is 4 hours not enough time for character development? So Gone with the Wind and fucking Lawrence of Arabia didn't have enough time to flesh out characters and a plot? There wasn't enough time to flesh out a good story and to have character development in the Godfather? They need to just come to the conclusion that all of us came to when that first big ol' multimillion dollar piece of shit dropped and admit that Leslye Headland has no business writing anything, let alone being an unchecked showrunner for a 180 million dollar project.

It’s what’s wrong with Kathleen Kennedy. She looks at Star Wars as a sci-fi movie. George Lucas looks at Star Wars as history of aliens in a region of space. It really happens and these are their diaries of this group of people. You have the history of their planets all named, the Jedi all named and the time they lived in including birth and death certificates, their lineage all mapped out, the hero’s and the villains all mapped out. But she thinks it’s a made up game and that’s why she makes no money on these stories of their lives.

On reflection, y'know what the Tooth Vader twist reminds me of? Hans, from Frozen. Because the two things everybody knows about Frozen are (1) that really poppy villain song, and (2) the Hans twist, or more specifically how much it sucked. Hans was not a single character. He was two halves taken from two entirely different half-formed characters for the sake of a twist villain, which is really perplexing when there was a complete _non_-twist villain in Elsa. (Search your feelings...) For Hans, two halves didn't add up to a whole, as we basically had to be reintroduced to him post-twist. Surprise, there wasn't enough effort put into marrying the two halves of the character into a cohesive singular entity, probably because most of the movie was written, and probably even animated to some degree, before the twist was conceived. That's not a character. That's the aftermath of a Kung Lao fatality. Watching these clowns try to write puts me in the mind of somebody trying to build a building from left to right. How little planning sense must you possess to squander an entire episode of your eight-episode story on perving on an actor you didn't realize was shredded until you shot _the fifth episode?_ Didn't _you_ cast him, Leslye? (And who taught you to spell "Leslie" with a Y anyway?) How little common sense must you posses to actually _admit to doing that?_

I agree. When I read the fan theory that the trolls are the real villains of the movie, because they used their magic to change Hans so that Kristoff could end with Anna, I thought that it made far more sense than the plot twist. After all, Hans has the love song with the female coprotagonist. He's the only villain in classic Disney to have a love song like that...
