It should have been explained by the writers that witches teleport. She turned into smoke because Mae shouted for help. But naturally it put Sol in defensive mode.

Carrie-Anne Moss was so wasted, she was a good part of why I wanted to see the show, her and a Jedi based show

The bottom never fell out. It never was there.

This also ruined when Torbin told Mae “we thought we were doing the right thing” like the sentence brought intrigue but to find out dude just wanted to go home so weirdly and forced was weird.

Torbin got to make jedi master. Torbin! No wonder Anakin was pissed off. Even Torbin made rank.

Why not hire an accomplished English or American actor? Or if it has to be an Asian guy, take one who is fluent in English and doesn't sound like he is reading from a paper.

Ki-Adi-Mundi's Appearance, Force babies issues are aplenty(not sensing each other/ thinking the other is dead) This undermines Anakin Skywalker's birth, a pivotal element of Star Wars Introduction of Cortosis (but the EMPIRE has none?), Sith Presence (before "The Phantom Menace")

I’m confused because I kept hearing about how this was going to deconstruct the Jedi as a whole and criticize them as an institution. Instead, this episode revealed that Council made the right decision to order the Brendok 4 not to interfere and Indara, who was the mission leader, was right all along up until the end. So all that talk of “deconstruction “ and instead you prove the Jedi were right? The mistakes made were from two emotionally impulsive who behaved NOT LIKE Jedi.

But it did deconstruct the jedi? Until now we had mostly only thought there were Qui Gon and Obi Wan type Jedi... at most Yoda. But with this crop of Jedi you can see how some of the jedi really were super arrogant and believed they could weild power any way they wanted.

@@Blaqkron Ehh it’s not effective. Early episodes had a vibe that maybe these Jedis were simply so dogmatic and into their own ways, they could not tolerate other types of Force religions. Yes this would be unlike of a Jedi but it would show how the flaws of blindly following Jedi rules. However, this episode revealed that the mistakes did not stem from following Jedi teachings but going AGAINST them. It only makes the Jedi and the Council, seem more in the right. Torbin and Sol were to impulsive and motivated by fear. They also didn’t adhere to the chain of command (Indara, Council). This is not like a Jedi at all unless you’re Anakin Skywalker. In short, it’s not effective deconstructing if you’re depicting people who aren’t even actual Jedis to begin with.

The jedi were the only known force wielders in the galaxy, so they potentially had to control/induct every force user which obviously led to these people slipping past the supposedly rigorous testing process, also explaining the only reason why OSHA was kicked out was because she lost connection to the force

So the only strong male character turns out to be evil. Wow, that is so shocking i never saw that coming

Grace, you were so optimistic, ignoring and even defending so many flaws in hopes of a great reveal. Sorry that it let you down in the end! Thanks for a great review.

If the budget was $30m for the whole show maybe, but $180 it is a complete joke. It cost more than HOTD Se2 that has been epic after just 4 episodes (and longer episodes too).

Gonna turn into a smoke monster next to the guy with a laser sword. Also Sol was giving stranger danger!

This episode had 3 writers, and you said Sol seemed like he was in some kind of experimental theater. I think I've figured it out. The experiment was none of the 3 writers were allowed to look at what the other 2 wrote until they turned the cameras on and filmed this episode.

You mean 7 weeks of “searching” and none of them saw lights from a mining Mountain that was full of witches? Or… or… ALL those people who are “masters” of the force aka the thread and none of them felt a disturbance?

The wheels came off the bus completely with this episode. There is no fixing this. Star Wars just needs to be put on ice for 10 years and start over.

@@peterpain6625 The writers did what the show runner and producers etc. wanted and/ or approved. So fire Leslye Headland and, the person who has been destroying Star Wars since Disney bought Lucas Film, Kathleen Kennedy.

It's not that we told you, it's that Weinstein's former PA herself said you're not going to get the explanation and closure you want; that she was just going to be presenting the situation from different points of view and you'd have to make up your own mind. But for whatever reason, you've been unwilling to accept and understand that. All of the things you're finally taking issue with are problems that exist all through the series. You might come to realise that in a few months, when you're watching it again. (But I'm only saying that because of this video and I can still imagine you convincing yourself its good.)

Writer 1: How can we make Jedis look really creepy? Writer 2: I know! We can have the favorite Jedi hide behind a tree and stalk 2 little girls and plan to take them from their family. Writer 1: Genius!!!

This. There have been so few sets, the costuming is not that elaborate. no real big names. Im not sure how much is CG but alot of this show takes place in a forest or in a ship. and then the one room, and two hallways in the jedi temple. It has to be consulting fees that or we get the most elaborate two hour space battle ever to grace our screens next week. I simple cant figure out why this is more expensive than Asoka let alone Andor.

The main villain is the writers, they make it seem like all the characters have multiple personalities clearly the writers didnt understand any of their motivations because not a single person act consistently. Mae is obviously the most egregiously bad example.

Anakin proved his dedication to see his desire realised (saving Padme) with that act. He went all in, and became a useful and powerful tool for his master. Sol is just dumb. The Sith are cunning and intelligent, he'd just be a liability for them. He is weak.

Cause they're NOT Sisters. They're a coven of witches...and, they're not Nightsisters. They're something else, independent from that race and faith. In other words, these witches don't hail from either Brendok, Dathomir, or Peridea.

Yeah but mikeybear's point is that 'witch' is usually used as a label by outsiders. They would think of themselves as a sisterhood or a coven, but there is something off about calling each other witches. I totally agree.

Grace, the bottom completely fell out since ep3. Don't tell me all this time, the bad writing, acting and horrible plot line suddenly happened in ep7. It was rubbish from the start. You have got to be joking 💀

Ep8: Chris Hansen walks in and tells Sol, "Why don't you take a seat."

When the showrunner has to constantly explain what the show is supposed to be you know the show is a failure. You can have some interesting premises like Sith seduction, Jedi ignorance, Force babies, etc. but if you can’t show OR tell it in story, you’ve failed

Grace you don’t you get enough recognition for your sense of humor. I was 🤣💀 this whole review. All your reviews make me chuckle tho!

17:37 - I don't think 'Twin' trees would have made more sense. Osha and Mae are NOT twins. They are a single life-force split into two bodies (at least, according to what was explained in this episode). So, it seems to me, that 1 tree which is special to both 'sisters' actually makes more sense. 🤔🤷 (Part of me can't believe I am actually defending the writing on this show lol) Edit: The fact that they are a single life-force also explains one of the issues that had been bothering me since last episode - It makes at least SOME sense now that Sol had difficulty immediately recognizing that Mae was disguising herself as Osha - because they are the same person and would feel as such within the force.

Why isn't anyone talking about how bad Amandla Stenbergs performance is 😢 what a terrible actress.

When people spotting multiple cases of bad writing early doesn't make you think, 'even if i dont agree, there is a likly chance this is bad', then you may not have done a good job
