The Acolyte Episode 6 - Teach / Corrupt Review

The twins have swapped masters! Episode six of The Acolyte wasn't as action packed as Night was, but it had some really great explorations into the Force, especially the dark side. Here is my review for Teach / Corrupt!

I think Vernestra was Qimir's Jedi Master, and that when he fell to the dark side they fought and she thought she'd killed him.

I'm pretty sure Osha's constant jump awakes is a sign she really needs to see a doctor.

I really love how Qimir’s helmet is a sensory deprivation helmet. So not only did he wreck all those Jedi on Khofar with little to no armor, he did that while he could hardly see or hear anything.

I found it interesting that we saw Qimir's scars that look like lashes and then we see Vernestra pull out her lightsaber whip in the same episode.

Qimir's scar and Vernestra's whip appearing in the same episode really gives me strong vibes that she was his master

I think the coolest/most messed up part of this episode is that we literally experience sith manipulation first hand. We watched this dude kill everybody last episode and now I almost want to trust him/feel bad for him. Crazy

Vernestra does seem shady, but I doubt she is actually the Sith Master. She mya have been Qimir's Jedi teach and has perhaps confronted him before and has kept it super quiet. She does seem very against bringing any of this to the council and definitely knows more than she is letting on, but I don't know if that equates to being flat-out evil.

If Vernestra turns out to be a secret Sith or something, that just wastes her role in the High Republic books and they should just keep her as a Jedi.

Bro, what's with the shot at us for watching KZread? That was bizarre.

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to KZread, KZread.....leads to suffering.

I really love how "Qimir" twisted Jecki's words from the last episode. She said that everything Osha survived made her stronger. Then Qimir says that what she lost, which is also everything that she survived, now allows her to be free to do as she pleases

RIP Pip. He put up a valiant fight for a body-less droid.

I don’t believe Vernestra is Sith. Instead, I believe she was Qimir’s former (Jedi) master and something happened between the two of them where they fought and she left him for dead. The scars on his back look like they could have been caused by a whip or, in this case, Vernestra’s weapon. She may be starting to suspect he is still alive hence, her apparent uneasiness throughout the series.
